I was surprised by the breathtaking view of the sea, by the fact that the hotel has a spap, by the nice people there. I would like to return.

We have been to this hotel several times, over the last few years, and we have always had a lovely room with a beautiful sea view. The staff have always been excellent and friendly. Our room is nicely decorated and quiet. It's superbly situated to be near everything Aberystwyth has to offer and has carparking onsite. We will surely be going again.

Booked for an overnight stay. Great location right on the seafront and only a short walk from the pier, shops and restaurants. Free parking was a bonus as parking in Aber can be a bit of a nightmare. Welcoming and friendly staff both in reception and the bar. The hotel decor is a little dated but it was clean and comfortable. The room was spacious and equipped with all essential amenities. Jacuzzi bath was a nice touch. Great sea view. Breakfast was fine although the eggs were overcooked and the toast soggy from being kept on the hot plate too long. The spa was okay although the facilities were limited and the gym wasn't up to much. While I understand the comments in some reviews that the place could do with an upgrade but then the prices would inevitably have to increase. All in all it was a good place to stay for a short visit and provided value for money. Will definitely stay again.

A lovely welcome by the receptionist & were given a large pleasant clean room (high headroom/victorian style) with a comfortable super king size bed right on the seafront, we spent time sitting in this bay window listening to the waves and people watching. We had a mini kitchen which was ideal including a fridge, tea & coffee facilities. The en-suite was spotless and spacious. Breakfast room was large with plenty of seating, tasty breakfast with friendly, efficient staff. Car Parking could not have been closer:- either on the seafront or the Hotel car park behind the hotel. The Navy & Yellow sofas and chairs in the lounge and reception area looked very modern and comfortable, I liked the decor. Looking forward to returning there soon, also loved a walk on the promenade and listened to the live music echoing from the Castle. One of my best birthday gifts for my 60th :)

Pros - Very pretty location, view from our deluxe double room was stunning, especially at sun set. All the standard amenities you’d expect from a modern hotel, free on site parking is also a plus. Staff were very pleasant. Lovely having a jacuzzi bath even though we didn’t get time to use it. Very handy location, close to main shops, bars and restaurants. Breakfast was ok, cooked breakfast options and cereals etc & a small selection of fruit. Spa facilities are limited but were nice and quiet Cons - given its location, the exterior decor requires quite a bit of maintenance Inside is quite dated and simple things like our bathroom door not closing easily, bathroom tiles being made to fit around the bath instead of perhaps making into a recess for shelving, bathroom mirror light not working, no safety rails in front of sash window etc. Regular maintenance could solve all this. Floor levels through out the hotel are not level, which is made especially difficult when the carpet disguises this. Can be quite a hazard for more elderly guests. Again simple things at breakfast like someone greeting us at the door for our room number & table, napkins on tables, labels on fruit juices to identify what they are (especially for allergy purposes), tea spoons for stirring sugar were all missing. Not much lighting in the sauna and jacuzzi was quite cold. Fix these little things and it will go a long way to improve a hotel which has so much more potential. Will we be back? Possibly, perhaps when these easy to fix things are resolved

The receptionist was very helpful getting us a room we were comfortable in as the first room was just a double bed, not a King or even two twins pushed together. We are too tall for that so she showed us two other rooms and we chose one. Loved the Victorian decor and the bay window in our room. Quiet hotel and we enjoyed sleeping with the windows open to hear the small waves on the rocky beach at night. Sadly, the fire alarm went off at 1 a.m. and disturbed our restful sleep. It was a false alarm due to the spa overheating. The pub was nice and bartender friendly. Our dinner server, Lucy, was a delight. Food for dinner and breakfast just OK, not bad, just not spectacular. I agree that the hotel could use some updating. Appreciated the bigger parking area than many Inns we stayed at!

Clean, comfortable and welcoming with amazing views in the seafront rooms. The Marine has looked after us regularly for five years now and we have always been happy. I like that every room is different (my favourite is the bathroom with the window so you can have a seaview shower!)

Small rooms, staff friendly, evening meal was big with too many chips. Coffee was terrible. Breakfast was ok juice was watery. Hotel rooms were cold even the lounge area single gazed windows in bedroom so quite noisy. Carpark tight and very busy. Needs a lot of updating.

Handily placed for the town. 2 rooms booked, one was bigger than other. Steam room was cold, electric sauna took 20mins to achieve a decent temperature. Alarm going off about midnight interrupted sleep. Fried eggs at breakfast left under hot light buffet were solid.
