Hot Springs Hotels in Okinawa Prefecture, Japan

I was very disappointed they AJ cancelled my booking at last minute while we were on the way to the hotel. We found out there was a big group staying that night. The hotel has no business to cancel my booking via Agoda by offering us a upgrade to cottage with condition to reply. The booking was confirmed and payment was already done to Agoda. Apparently they wanted to cater to a big group. Agoda was not helpful at all too. Call to Agoda was responded by a chatbot. I am forced to book AJ at a higher room rate on that afternoon itself. That time, thypoon wind was approaching and we were on bicycles, scare that no room as available in the vicinity. AJ did not even apologize for the cancellation and did not offer us the original room price. The counter staff cannot converse in English and compounded the issue. Food choices were limited. When we want to checkout during typhoon rain, we requested to pay for transport to send us cyclists to community bus station, but was turned down. Even there was an AJ coach available. How pathetic and uncaring! We could have been stuck at AJ. The cycle ride back out will be impossible and dangerous in the rain, wind and unforgiving hill terrain over 12km. This episode was the only unpleasant incident during out nice cycling trip around Okinawa island. AJ is an isolated place. The cottage was dated. The only thing nice was the surrounding, at the end of the cape. From now on, i would not use Agoda for bookings. At this time of writing, i have yet to receive my refund. Other booking platforms would have refunded immediately. Btw, a lovely Japanese lady offered us a lift back in her car for us 2 stranger cyclists, 2 Brompton bicycles and bags to Yanobaru. We were truly indebted to her and wish her well.

Nice hotel in American village, with onsen bath free for hotel guest, central location in American village, lot of amenities and welcome drinks, infinity pool is nice but it’s not free, it’s perfect for couples and adult since it’s quiet. Breakfast with lots of choice and local food. Love this hotel will definitely come back again!

e had a fantastic stay at Hotel Monterey Okinawa Spa & Resort. The hotel is extremely family-friendly, and my child especially loved the outdoor pool. The indoor pool was also excellent, providing a great option regardless of the weather. Our room was clean, spacious, and offered a beautiful view. The staff were friendly, professional, and always willing to help. Their English communication skills were excellent, which made our stay even more comfortable and convenient. One of the highlights was the nightly fireworks display, which added a special touch to our holiday. The location is also perfect — Lawson is just across the road, and there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance.

I highly recommend this hotel! 1. **Convenient Transportation**: Although it takes about two to three hours by bus from Naha Airport, the bus is direct. The scenery along the way is beautiful, and there's a rest stop in the middle for a restroom break. The bus drops you off right at the hotel entrance, so it feels like a scenic tour bus. 2. **Spacious and Cozy Room**: The room has a long sofa that can easily sleep one to two children. The bedding is incredibly comfortable, and both the bathroom and toilet are large. The overall decor features natural wood tones, which feels very relaxing and soothing. 3. **Fantastic Balcony Sea View**: We were given a front-facing room on the second-highest floor, offering an unobstructed view of the beach and the sea – truly relaxing. 4. **Hotel Amenities**: You can enjoy the hot springs daily, and the beach is just a stone's throw away. The hotel's private garden is also exquisite and beautiful. The aquarium is about a 10-minute walk, or you can take the shuttle car from the path near the garden. 5. **Dining**: The hotel breakfast perfectly suited my taste. For dinner, we chose the izakaya, which offered most Okinawan specialty dishes. 6. **Exceptional Service**: The most commendable part! We accidentally left our shoes in the room when checking out. We contacted the hotel via email and received a prompt reply. They then shipped our shoes to our hotel in Naha within two days, assisting with communication throughout the process. A huge thumbs-up! I highly recommend it to everyone! PS: It was raining during our stay, but the beauty of the scenery was still evident!

I like how they are few minutes walk away from the beach and shrine. Very much accessible to other stores, the only problem we had was it’s 14-15mins on foot from the situation and it was raining when we got there. We realized that it’s not that far from the airport and wouldn’t cost us much if we took the cab. We did that when we left the hotel because it was raining so much.

Pros: The swimming pool and small beach are convenient for playing in the water; parking is close and ample; the rooms are spacious and functional; the hotel is clean; the staff speak Chinese; the housekeeping staff are very polite and smiling; the hotel shop has a wide selection of common souvenirs and local specialties. Cons: The surrounding dining options are not as numerous as in the city; latex pillows are not provided; and the breakfast options and variety are limited.

The room isn't huge, but it fits three beds. However, opening a suitcase can be a bit tricky. There's a small mini-pool on the second floor, perfect for younger kids. Every afternoon, there are free activities and complimentary drinks. About 80% of the guests are ********* tourists. Facilities: 4.5 stars Cleanliness: 4.5 stars Ambiance: 4.5 stars Service: There's a slim and sweet Japanese lady at the front desk who speaks excellent Chinese and is very enthusiastic about her service. Thumbs up! She's actually much more polite than some of the other Chinese staff at the front desk.

We were welcomed warmly by the hotel staff. One of the hotel staff (feeling bad for not getting their names) brought us to our room and showed us our room amenities. The Premium Suite is very big and there is only one such suite in the whole hotel. The Suite comes with a balcony, living room, bedroom, futon area, large bathroom and a separated toilet. The balcony faces the beautiful sea. The only downside during our trip is that the sunset was covered by the clouds. The dining area is on the 2nd floor where our booking included one full-course meal for both dinner and breakfast. The staff will ask for your preferred dining timing during the check-in. Our futons were set up during our dinner time. We got to eat a good variety of dishes during our meals, and the food was very good and fresh. The staff also tried to introduce each dish in English. Thank you. Hot bath/onsen and steam room is located on the 1st floor. Not sure if everyone is enjoying the bath within their room, it was pretty quiet during our visit. We did not notice any gym or laundry facilities though.  Price aside, it is definitely highly recommended for families and larger group of friends who likes to enjoy the hotel stay and amenities. You will probably not feel like travelling out after stepping in.

I had a very relaxing stay. The stay included a bottle of wine and unlimited drinks at the Sky Bar throughout my stay. The room was stocked with local Okinawan beer, chuhai, juice, water, and cookies. The room also had a hair dryer, a curling iron, and other useful amenities. I especially enjoyed the shower head in the bathroom, which had four different settings. The mist setting was my favorite.

The service and cleanliness at the hotel are top-notch, the staff is polite and very helpful. We were greeted very warmly. There's a paid shuttle from the airport to the hotel and back, so the journey was comfortable. The room itself is huge and beautiful, with a wonderful view. There are several breakfast options, but the online checkout system is inconvenient: you have to re-enter your email address and walk several steps each time. It's better to do this through the TV or a simpler method. The nearby beach is small and dirty, and the swimming area is fenced off and also small, which feels confined. The pools and beach close very early – at 5:00 PM.
