Hot Springs Hotels in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan

Expensive, but if you're looking for a luxurious hot springs stay, it's worth it. Includes entrance to the nearby Yunessun, which is a quick walk down the street. Bus stop immediately across the road helps with reaching other parts of Hakone easily. I got one without the in room onsen, but there is a public one inside the hotel itself and the room had a balcony with a gorgeous view of the mountain instead. Very authentic hot springs experience

The hotel's location is very close to the station, and the price is reasonable, making it suitable for solo travelers.

I personally love sleeping in hotels where I can hear the sound of water; it helps me sleep really well, but that's just a personal preference. The staff, an auntie and uncle who are probably both over 60, provided excellent service. I actually prefer older staff members; their work ethic shows a respect for the value of their time, unlike younger people who might be ready to switch jobs at any moment. The hot spring and meals were perfectly aligned with the price!

It's a short walk from Fujisawa Station. We arrived before 3 PM and, since we had sightseeing plans, left our luggage at the front desk without any problems. The room was of average size, but we slept quite well. I had read reviews suggesting there wouldn't be a private shower, but the twin room we booked had a bathtub and shower head. Perhaps it just meant there was no private hot spring bath? The breakfast was good, and you could borrow an iron from the front desk. Overall, it was a good experience.

Hotel is abit dated and old by now compared to when I stayed many years ago. Still it’s a relatively clean, nice and comfy hotel, with nice Fuji view in both onsen and surrounding area. Overall it’s a lovely stay and we are happy to be back again.

Service: Not a great experience. It's a standard Japanese-style hotel with no Chinese-speaking staff. The front desk's English was very poor, with a heavy Japanese accent, which made check-in take a long time. Environment: The soundproofing near the JR line side is very bad. Regardless of the room price, the train noise was disruptive.

The hotel is located on a mountain, about 900 meters from Gora Station, but with an elevation gain of 120 meters. The mountain road is incredibly steep. The last mountain railway train also departed early. We waited for a taxi for a long time at night, but none came. We ended up taking half an hour to slowly climb up the mountain. For travelers using the Hakone Free Pass and not driving, I strongly recommend arriving at Gora Station in the afternoon to ensure you catch the mountain railway, or download a local ride-hailing app in advance.

I booked this last minute, and with hotel prices being so high everywhere, I was really happy to get a spacious room with breakfast included! The public bath is a bit on the small side, so everyone needs to be considerate and take turns, but being able to stretch out in the bath really helps relieve fatigue. The staff were very attentive; they immediately helped me when I was fumbling at the reception desk. The breakfast was also great; you could fry your own eggs to your preferred doneness, and there were many side dishes to go with rice. The miso soup felt homemade, just like what you'd have at home, which was very comforting in the morning. I didn't get to try the bread, but my companion said it wasn't dry and tasted good. I would definitely like to stay here again.

A great ryokan, staying in Yuwahara for the first time, including breakfast and dinner, good Japanese food, hot spring ♨️ is also great, and friends who pass by also love it.

The room size was pretty good, offering great value for money considering it's in the mountains and part of a well-known chain. We could even access the hot spring park at the sister hotel across the way, though we didn't go in since we weren't with kids. The complimentary dinner was a set menu, not the yakiniku buffet we initially thought, but with an extra dish, it was pretty much enough for two. There's also a big Family Mart convenience store at the sister hotel, perfect for stocking up on supplies. In the evening, it was lovely to relax in our hotel's hot spring. Even though it's a public bath, it's small, cozy, and has outdoor pools. The hotel is conveniently located right by Kowakien Station and Horaiden. I have to say, Japanese gardens are incredibly small and refined; every spot is meticulously kept and elegant. My only regret was slipping on a steep slope after getting off the bus. I scraped my skin a bit before my hot spring soak, which definitely became a memorable part of the trip.
