I stayed in a 4 bed mixed dormitory. Beds were very clean, and there waa enough space to store my travel belongings. There was no noise from other rooms, and the shower and toilet inside the room was clean and functional too. 15 to 20 minute walk to Temple Bar, another 10 minute from Temple Bar to Trinity Collegr. Had no problem walking from the accomodation to other points of interests in Dublin. Overall, a great value for travellers. Tip: Do reserve breakfast. The bread is warm if you go in the opening hour, and you can eat enough to last for both breakfast AND lunch while walking all day. Save the lunch budget for better dinner.

Hostels around the world need to take note of what a real hostel is — and that's Jacobs Inn Hostel in Dublin. Located in the center of Dublin and easy to locate, you're greeted with friendly, warm staff who can help you with anything you need. Advice on landmarks, restaurants, events, they have an answer. The commons area is packed full of people working, socializing or just simply relaxing. Music is not too loud so communicating and working is made easy. It's very atmospheric and it's a great place to make new friends on your travels. It's amazing decorated and their bar/dining area is incredible. Breakfast is served and you're offered a good variety to choose from. The rooms, or pods, are clean, well-maintained and the bathrooms are neat. You're afforded privacy in a modern fashion.

Good Hostel for a few nights, it was my first time staying at a hostel in a dorm w others. The beds are very comfortable und you really have your orivacy, which I loved. I didnt know that you have to bring your own towels so I bought one, I dont know if they provide them I did not ask. Also I did not find any lockers but I did not ask bc I didnt had a lot of stuff and I was out most of the time. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Location is great just a 5 Min walk from O'connell St. Didnt check out the dining or game room nor the garden. My room was on 3rd floor and the shower and bathroom on the 2nd, but that didnt brother me. The shower and the room were very clean and not busy at all while I was there. WiFi worked fine and the beds are soooo comfy would stay there again but only for a few days, if I be in Dublin for a week or long er I would choose a hotel but that is just me because I am not the hostel type. If you are you will love it
Clink I Lár

I visited the clink I lar hostel with two of my friends in February 2024. Now the staff was really friendly and lovely and the location was great. However, I was in a mixed room (with mostly men) because we were a group of 2 girls and one guy and the room was disgusting. There was absolutely no ventilation, windows didn’t open and there was no air conditioning so the room stank of body odour and sweat! It was very unpleasant… The bed layout was also really strange, two of the bunk bed sets, the ones at the corner of the room were sort of connected which meant that the man sleeping in the bed next to mine could just move his curtain and look into my bed, which he did and made me feel really uncomfortable. Other than that during our stay the kitchen was out of order which was also incredibly inconvenient because Dublin is so expensive. So in conclusion I would not really recommend if you’re a woman/queer person unless you stay in a private room or woman only room.

My flight was delayed and I tried to notify the property that I would be arriving after the reception closing time (6pm). The phone number provided on the booking was wrong, the one on their website was a call center and no one answered, and I didn't get any email instructions from them. I arrived at midnight and ... SURPRISE: I was locked out! Luckily I met by chance a girl who was staying there and was coming back so she let me in to stay warm. I keep calling unanswered for at least another hour. In the end I settled on the sofa in the living room to sleep without blankets, but it was always better than sleeping on the street or having to look for a new structure in the middle of the night. The next day they admitted the phone number was wrong, apologized and eventually gave me the room I had paid for. They provided proof that they sent the instruction email, but I never received it (I had checked even if it was in spam, and nothing), otherwise I would have slept on the sofa because I felt like it ??? On the same day, the same thing happened to a guy like me who didn't receive any emails they say they sent. Maybe they were having problems with their systems that day? Yet no, it is our fault because ... Final surprise ... Although they admitted that the phone number was wrong, they did not want to refund me the night I paid for and for which I did not receive the service purchased, also risking having to sleep out or spend more money on a new accommodation. Fortunately, hotels.com provided me with a small discount coupon. Thanks Hostel.com! You, on the other hand, are real dishonest thieves, keep those 36 euros well!

Pretty good for a youth hostel, clean bedspreads, quilt covers and pillow covers on the bed, make your own. Girls from all over the world are very conscious, the bathroom is clean, and the bar downstairs is noisy until 13:00 in the morning, which has no impact on my good sleep.
Kennedy's Pub Drumcondra
4.3/553 Reviews
I figured it only right to spend the last night of my stay in Ireland in a room above a local pub. Kennedys Drumcondra was the perfect location all around. The room was great. Nice and clean, with a comfy bed and plenty of pillows for those that need more than one. The room overlooked part of the roof and had a great view of a beautiful sunset to the west. The window allowed a cool breeze to keep the temp perfect all night long. Toiletries are provided and the bathroom was nice and clean. The shower provided plenty of hot water and good water pressure. Others have mentioned noise from the pub below, but I had no issues. It was a Tuesday night, which means BINGO started at 9pm. That was right about the time I decided to head to bed. I could hear a distant muffled sound of the BINGO caller but it wasn't bothersome. People in the bar couldn't be heard and it at no time awoken me from my sleep. The pub downstairs is awesome. Multiple areas, great food and plenty of delicious pints of beer. I grabbed a couple pints there after dinner nearby, while the pub filled up with friendly folks getting ready for BINGO on a Tuesday night. The atmosphere was friendly and jovial. Wonderfully authentic Irish pub and people. I came downstairs for breakfast in the morning. The staff are awesome. They were super attentive and friendly. The food was everything I wanted. The full Irish Breakfast was filling and delicious. Leroy and everyone were great. Just what I needed before a day of travel home. I'm returning to Ireland just a month after and I plan to stay at Kennedys Drumcondra once again. It's a great place to get a room and awesome pub to enjoy a pint or two. Highly recommended.

GROUPS BEWARE of strick/completely unfair cancelation policies. If your flight gets canceled or you are unable to travel, you'll loose ALL the amount paid!!! No credit for next stay, discount, or whatever. You snooze, you loose. As a school, we had booked rooms to accomodate a total of 40 students and teachers, for a whole week. Unfortunatelly we were unable to board our flight and had to pospone the trip to some weeks later from the original date. There simply were no available flights sooner for such a large group in the same airline company. We explained the situation to the hostel but they were simply uncompromising. We did not ask for a refund and were willing to loose some of the money paid for the first nights. All we wanted was that some credit could be directed to the new dates, in order to reduce our losses a bit. We did not expect that the management would be completely unwilling to help, charging us for the whole stay, INCLUDING the meals we did not have. We travel around the world with our students and we look for partners we can rely on, and that are willing to help us, when we are abroad. This was simply not the case, quite the opposite. If you are traveling with a large group, for a long stay, with a quite an expensive bill, check your booking conditions twice, make sure your flight does not get canceled or you'll loose it all.
