Don’t not stay here. Avoid. So first of all the owner was very intense and makes you feel uncomfortable. He slept in reception on a sofa which we thought was strange. Went to the toilet in the night and got told to go to bed while he was laid on the sofa. When we first arrived he was bossy and rude and made up go on a tour of the whole building which he bossed us round. The whole place is dirty and needs done up, the toilets stink of urine and the toilet seat came of every time it was used. The room we were given for 6 of us was tiny, the beds were awful. It did not have enough plugs at all. The carpet was stained and dirty. You would have to pay me to stay here again, avoid at all costs and pay more to stay elsewhere. It had bars on the window like jail.

What a gem of a find.(If you can handle a couple of steep hairpin bends... but I managed them) This was a last minute booking after visiting friends in the area. The room was just perfect for us. Clean. Spotless bathroom and an amazing walk-in shower. Ample tea/coffee making facilities and as an added bonus there was even instant porridge pots and croissants for a breakfast snack. I think next time I would maybe book a top floor (city view) room but that doesn't detract from how nice our room was. Plenty of parking spaces directly outside. Not sure why the actual hotel/bar/restaurant wasn't open, that would have been an added bonus but we just took a quick trip into Hebden Bridge for food. Best of all, the accommodation was an amazing price for two of us for one night

Positives - Rooms are spacious and work is currently going on to change the previous horror story reviews. The service we received whilst checking in was great, even allowing us to have our rooms early. Negatives - Only one key per room and door locks regardless of if you go in or out of the room, therefore requiring said key on entry and exit. This makes it tricky for any bigger parties staying who may want to do their own thing. The changes previously made are all cosmetic, mattresses feel hard (pull out bed style) and a girl in the bigger apartment said her bedding was stained. Finally, the reviews lie about the noise, it doesn’t stop at 3am. In fact, it doesn’t stop at all. Windows are permanently latched open so you hear this all night.

The room was very nice and the bed very comfortable. From the minute we arrived (and fought through the smokers at the front door) we had a great welcome from the staff. The food was absolutely superb with a special mention of the beef and ale pie definitely worthy plus a very good choice of well kept real ale and gins. Lots of free parking available too. We stayed here as we had an early flight from Leeds Bradford and so we were departing at 3.30am. If we hadn't been staying for a flight though I'd have been raging at the other guests. Most of them were also using it before the airport and the noise from the corridor plus neighbouring rooms was awful. I do appreciate that the hotel is not totally responsible for their guests but the family in the room next to us allowed their toddler to run around the corridor knocking on other room doors. In summary an excellent place if you're flying early the next day, not so if you're not checking out really early.

We are friends that stayed for one night in room 19 which is a twin room. We have stayed here several times now. The early morning noise from an adjacent workshop has put us off returning unfortunately. PROs Great location, right next to the Picturedrome Warm and welcoming staff Pleasant room Excellent breakfast Parking on site CONs We were woken at 6.30am in the morning by constant very loud banging. It did not stop. There is some kind of work shop on the top floors adjacent to the hotel. This spoiled our stay. Surely noise should not begin until at least 8am? We didn't manage to go back to sleep because of it.
