"This hotel boasts an excellent location, almost directly opposite the century-old teahouse, placing it right in the heart of the ancient city. Male dorms are on the second floor, female dorms on the third, and the rooftop is on the fourth. The hotel is home to several adorable cats, including British Shorthairs and a 'Big Orange' (ginger cat). The price is incredibly reasonable; a few tens of yuan in Kashgar is a fantastic deal, in my opinion. I personally saw the quilts, pillowcases, and sheets being changed for new ones! They even smelled like they'd been sun-dried. The room was very quiet at night, with no noise allowed inside. I'm very satisfied! Highly recommend!"

"I was a bit nervous on my way to the hostel because there was traffic so I wasn't sure if I could get there before check-in closed. So I called them up and the lady on the phone spoke perfect english so it was very easy to communicate, and they were very accommodating of me being late. As soon as I arrived, another member of staff came to help with my bags, and the boss greeted me with friendly words. It was a really nice welcome to the hostel. The cafe/lounge is nice. I found it quite social. The boss gave me free coffee too 😁 and they were really helpful in the hostel explaining how to get to scenic areas. The dorm was well air-conditioned. I was given a lockable locker on request. The kitchen is small but has what you need. The bathrooms aren't equipped with soap or toiletries, but I believe you can buy what you need from the hostel. You can also buy detergent to do washing. Location is great, 30min walking distance from bus terminal, and close to liuxing Street area. Kind of an open air courtyard concept in the hostel, not sure what the experience would be like in Winter, but in Summer it was nice."

"I stayed for two nights! The staff at the guesthouse were incredibly kind and always greeted me with a smile. They were very helpful in discussing what I wanted to do in Tashkurgan, which made my stay very fulfilling. If I have the opportunity to visit Tashkurgan again, I would definitely like to stay at this guesthouse again. The location is also very convenient, right in the city center. There's a shop selling traditional embroidered fabrics very close to the guesthouse, perfect for souvenir shopping. You can also walk to the museum (it was closed when I visited), Stone City, Jin Cao Tan, and the bus terminal. I especially recommend the Caiyun Renjia Ethnic Village, which is close to the guesthouse. You can walk there, and it was a very memorable experience learning about the Tajik way of life and culture."

"Come to Kashgar to play, this is the first time I have lived in the Youth Hostel, ** brushed it. The environment is very good, the boys and girls are separated, the boys are on the first floor and the girls are on the second floor, the washing machine is also separated, the aunt will clean the room every day, and it will be very clean to keep it by herself. The atmosphere is also not bad. This time I met the Dragon Boat Festival. The boss also bought dumplings for everyone to eat. Usually, the group will organize some live games, werewolf killing, script killing and the like. It is still recommended for finishing (∗❛ั∀❛ั∗) ✧*."

Excellent service and a very clean, spacious room with comfortable bedding. The location is fantastic, right at the entrance of the ancient city. Popular spots like the century-old teahouse, Id Kah Mosque, Rainbow Alley, Buidai Alley, 'Grandpa's Grandpa's Father's Nang' (a famous naan shop), and Oil Painting Street are all just a stone's throw from Guilai Inn. There are plenty of local eateries downstairs, making dining very convenient. The owner is very welcoming, and the soundproofing in the rooms is excellent. The night views are beautiful and captivating. Plus, there are bus stops nearby for easy access to the airport and train station. It was a pleasant trip and I highly recommend it; you definitely won't regret staying at this inn.

Hostel is about 5 - 7 minutes away from the ”Sports Centre” metro station, which is about 25+ minutes from the airport. The hostel entrance is next to the Tesla shop, and you have to press the buzzer, for the security guard to open the gate for you. Then, after writing your name down in the guest-book, you go up to the 10th floor in the lift. (Check the other reviews here, for a picture of the gate/door to the building) The staff speak little to no English, but they are very helpful. They will try to solve your issues, as long as you patient with the translation software. Also, it is difficult for staff to check you in, if you do not have a contact number or Alipay/Wechat contact. (This is a CN Govt requirement) The dorm rooms are basic and you may get the city views. There are no privacy curtains and there was no air-con, in my one. The hostel staff can provide fans, but we did not need any, as it was still cool at night. The beds are OK. There is a bathroom in the dorm room too, but there was almost no privacy for the bathroom, as there was a gap between the door for others to see and you can see through the frosted glass into the bathroom too! The hostel is relatively clean, quiet and well-located, except there may be other local guests, who are loud and smoke sometimes in the other rooms. Next to the hostel is a nice up-market shopping centre and with really lots to eat, in the food-court on the 3rd floor.

The decoration is very novel The boss is very nice. I went to Ta County for two days. I told the boss about my luggage and he helped me store it! I met a sister from Nanning at the youth hostel and she was also very nice! Kashgar I will come again By the way, Ta County is worth a visit! But don’t sign up for a tour group from Central Asia! I didn’t go to many scenic spots, and when I arrived at the scenic spot, I was asked to come back in 5 minutes, come back in 10 minutes, and give me a maximum of 40 minutes of play time (black man’s question mark face). Then the weather was 38 or 9 degrees, and the driver drove with the windows open! (crying face)

Even though I only stayed for one night, the value for money was truly excellent. The location is right inside the Kazanqi scenic area, so it's easy to find by taxi. The front desk lady was very kind and enthusiastic, and even helped me with my luggage. The room was clean, and the comforter and pillows felt brand new. The courtyard is huge and absolutely beautiful. That night, I even joined a mahjong game with some other guests – it was so much fun! I hope to stay longer next time.

Came to Kashgar with friends on motorcycles and stayed at 'Guren Gui' – best decision ever! The landlady is an amazing cook, and you can join in for shared meals. Parking is super easy right outside the courtyard. Plus, there are mulberries and figs you can pick freely. There were also a lot of foreigners here, and chatting with them was really fun. The hostel common area is huge and super comfy on the first floor, not hot at all, and you can even sing and dance together.

I wholeheartedly give Tiancheng International Youth Hostel a full five stars! Every corner of the place is spotless, and it's completely smoke-free with no unpleasant odors, making for a really comfortable stay. The front desk lady, though a little clumsy, was incredibly kind and patient, whether I was asking for directions or borrowing something. The lobby has a pool table for entertainment; last night, a group of travelers gathered to watch the World Cup, which was lively and heartwarming. The hostel also organizes Uyghur language lessons and dance activities. I met so many friends from different countries here; we danced and chatted together, and later even planned a trip to Yili. The travel atmosphere here is truly rare and wonderful – it's the perfect place to stay when you're in Urumqi!

HUAKE YOUTH HOSTEL

Huake was previously a hotel converted into an international youth hostel. We booked a twin-bed room for one night. There is a Uyghur girl who spoke impecable Mandarin with a tad bit of Beijing ascent at the front desk when we arrived. The check-in was speedy. The room was spacious and clean so were the bedding (no foul smell). The uniqueness about this hostel is, it does not provide bath towels and toilet papers. Instead, guests are given one-use towels and a pack of tissue papers which we double up as toilet papers. Initially, I thought the one-use towels (place on a try in the room) were bathing soap because they were in compressed form so I went to ask the Uyghur girl for towls and she told me those are actually compressed one-use towels. There are restaurants and minimarts next to the hostel and a night food street nearby (approx 200-300m by foot). No a bad choice if you need a layover or a couple of days stay to explore Kuqa.
