Very good location. The staff speaks good English. Lots of free amenities. They let me check in a little bit earlier and left my bags for a few days. But the cleanliness was a real issue, the bathroom of the 10 people dorm that I stayed in for 2 days has never been cleaned.

I'd seen countless posts on Xiaohongshu raving about the amazing atmosphere here, and I finally got to experience it. I was lucky enough to be there for Folk Song Day, and everyone was singing along, drinking, and having a great time. There was even someone playing guitar and singing on the second floor. Later that night, friends from all corners of the world gathered to play games... This hostel truly blurs the lines between strangers. Even though this place has been around for a while, the bathrooms and showers are spotless, and the bedding is as comfortable as ever. The front desk staff were very attentive in their explanations, and Miss Xiaoqi was incredibly thoughtful. Golden Retriever Shiyi is super, super cute, and she smelled so good and was so soft after her bath! I'll definitely choose this place again next time!

that's a pretty nice and budget friendly place to stay. the room is little, but there is everything you need to live there for a sport period. the outdoor place is really coy and nice, people are also friendly. thanks to all people working there, we didn't have any issues while staying there. liked that water turtle in the pool, it's cute

Backpack Ten Years Hostel in Chengdu is super convenient, located close to Chunxi Road and the subway station, making it easy to get around and go shopping. The whole place is clean and tidy, the beds are comfy, and the common areas are spacious with a relaxed vibe. The front desk staff are warm and attentive, quick to respond to any issues, and the security is also good. Facilities are complete, and the hot water is stable. It's perfect for solo travelers or those with companions, offering great value for money. Overall, a comfortable experience and highly recommended.

The inn's location is excellent. It's right behind Mount Lu (Lushan), and across the street is Moon Town. (Just a heads-up for visitors: the cable car station and the mountain gate for Mount Lu are not in the same place; they're several hundred meters apart.) The place is also clean and even provides disposable towels and toilet seat covers, which is a nice touch.

His world is a quiet one. Before booking this hostel, I read reviews mentioning that the caretaker was deaf and very frugal. This proved to be true upon my arrival. At night, he'd only use a projector to watch TV, leaving the front desk area dimly lit. By day, he was up very early, meticulously cleaning and tidying up the place. He's actually quite a decent person, always proactively helping guests secure lower bunks. The only hurdle is the communication. However, solo female travelers might find his non-verbal sounds unsettling or even frightening. I can't help but wonder about his story. I hope all future guests will show a little more patience and understanding, and not be put off by him.

(For context, I was a black female solo traveller) Location On a long street with many restaurants and shops along the street and a self service ATM 5 -10 min walk away, including a small market in the mornings. It is a residential area, so you will most likely be the only foreigner, but people are extremely friendly and helpful, albeit the stares. The entrance faced the main road and was well lit. There is a flight of stairs that you will need to go up to get to the hostel area. If you have not tried hot pot, I would def recommend going to the Haichiniu Xianxianqie Beef Self service Hot Pot place which is around 5 mins walk down the road. Quite far from the centre of the city however it is extremely easy to get to. During the day, there is a close proximity to the underground around 10 min walk, and there is a bus that I took from the city centre to right outside the hostel door where the bus stop was. If you are going through the night/early morning, it is extremely easy to catch a taxi through apps and it is quite cheap (around 40- 70 yen) and the road is very well lit. I felt completely safe in the area. Service Chu, the hostel aunty is warm and helpful, and gives you a sense of being home away from home. This included being made some home made dumplings to celebrate Golden Week which tasted delicious! She gave recommendations on places to go and made sure that I kept safe when out. As another review said, it can be a bit difficult communicating if you don't know Chinese as no English at the hostel or around the area is spoken and it can get quite draining/ mentally challenging at times for us, however Chu still tried her best to communicate regardless and I really appreciated the effort. To get around this and to make your stay more enjoyable, I would be sure to have WeChat set up prior so you can use the chat translator and have your google translate app out ready. (N.B Make sure you are able to set up the account and get the WeChat validation/security text through your HOME sim/data roaming as opposed to attempting to set up your account on your E-sim which won't work). Facilities It is a hostel that provides what you need. The things that took my British head some time to get around was the shower situation and the bed; namely the shower as it was more typical of an advanced bidet than standard shower. However, it was kept exceptionally clean after my first day there and I did my part of keeping it clean by bleaching it down. The bed is quite sturdy, typical of Chinese beds, so I would recommend bringing a blanket or similar to lay on the mattress so you can get to sleep. There is an upstairs area where you can use the washing machine or wash your clothes by hand and an open area to hang dry your clothes. Make sure you have some cash ready to give to Chu to use the machine. There is a vending machine that you can buy snacks for using the your WeChat pay. There is a seating area at the top where you can sit down and eat, smoke and chat. Once you are used to the different products used (i.e remembering the slippers, using the shower etc.), it becomes second nature and a very comfortable stay (funny story: I was sitting on a desk chair outside my room and being use to the chairs in the UK being quite heavy, I swung myself around and ended up falling off the chair LOL!). Cleanliness Like I mentioned above, the hostel is kept exceptionally clean and I had no concerns around hygiene once I got used to the shower situation. The cleanliness is what I can say was a huge benefit to the hostel. Considering how large the place is and Chu is the sole host, it is kept evidently very clean and Chu will be sure to tell you to tidy up too lool. People in China are not a fan of strong smells/ fragranced things so you will not smell bleach or such products but after seeing a storage room, I can assure they are being used! The photos in the other reviews capture it exactly so you will not be surprised when coming to the place.

Just a two or three-minute walk from the bus station, which makes it super convenient for exploring the city. The front desk even helps arrange shared car charters for sightseeing. I went on a day trip to Tagong Grassland with fellow hostel guests and saw both Mount Gongga and Mount Yala. I'll definitely be back! 😍😍

Pretty good, and the location is excellent. It's situated right in the heart of the main commercial district, just a few minutes' walk to the subway station and attractions, so getting around is incredibly convenient. The room was larger than expected, the bed had just the right firmness for a great night's sleep, and the bathroom had a separate wet and dry area with a full set of toiletries and stable hot water. The front desk staff were very enthusiastic, answered all our questions, and even thoughtfully provided tips for exploring the area. Overall, the experience was fantastic and the value for money is unbeatable. Highly recommend to anyone traveling!

This hostel is located on the fourth and fifth floors of Evergrande Plaza and has likely been open for less than two months. The male and female dorms are on separate floors, which is a thoughtful touch. The facilities are impeccable: new sheets and duvet covers, bright and clean bathrooms, and a freshly set up common area. Everything is new, even the faint smell of recent renovation still lingers in the air. Interestingly, the initial awkwardness between the staff and guests also feels 'new.' The guy at the front desk pauses and thinks before answering directions, and guests in the common room are glued to their phones, occasionally making eye contact, smiling, and then looking away. This 'breaking-in' period actually feels quite authentic. I've stayed in many hostels, and sometimes places that are too new can feel a bit uncomfortable. There are no notes on the walls, no half-empty condiments left in the fridge by previous guests, and the staff and guests are almost too formal with each other—it feels like it's missing some stories. But then I think, new also has its advantages. It's clean, tidy, and everything is a fresh start. In a way, everyone staying here now is among the first guests. Over time, the walls will naturally gather doodles, regulars will become known by name, and this initial awkwardness will slowly evolve into something else. I look forward to seeing this hostel grow.
