"It was very well located just next to the bus station. From there you can take a city bus or walk into town. Plenty of food around, or after s little walk. The hostel has two cats so it’s hard for allergics.
The wooden vibe is really great, but the beds are ultra-hard so that brings the review down. They have one western style toilet and in general it’s a very clean place."

"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Hard 5/5!
As a girl travelling solo for the first time, I felt very safe staying and had a lot of fun. Even though it’s a hostel, the environment was comfortable and welcoming. One thing I really appreciated was the international power outlets, which was a huge plus for me.
The hostel also offers transportation services to certain attractions and activities, making it very convenient for travellers. The location is excellent — being right next to Chunxi Road meant I could easily explore the city, try local food, and enjoy the area on foot.
A special shoutout to the front desk staff, who were incredibly friendly and always happy to recommend places to visit. Their English was excellent as well, which made communication very easy.
I would highly recommend this hostel to international travellers. If I visit Chengdu again, I would definitely choose to stay here again! ❤️✨"

"The room is very spacious, and the location is excellent, right next to Lushan Mountain, perfect for a hike. There are plenty of food options nearby, and you can also order takeout. I heard the guesthouse offers shared meals, but I didn't participate. The atmosphere was quite nice, with lots of chatting and laughter. There's a pool table on the third floor, but no one to play with me! 😂 Downstairs, there's a very cute blue cat. When I came back from Silver Beach in the afternoon, it was all alone, so I petted it, and it immediately became very friendly. When I sat down, it came closer and rubbed against me. ☺️ It even jumped onto the table and nuzzled my shoulder! 😀"

"Facilities: The beds are from Backpacker's Inn, which is pretty good. The lockers are bigger than ones I've seen in Shanghai. However, two hairdryers seemed to be broken and no one fixed them. One short-circuited while I was using it, which scared me into turning it off immediately. When I turned it back on, air was coming out of the intake vent (┐(ﾟдﾟ┐)). The other one was also broken; it would just take in air but not blow it out after a while. The sinks are rusty and look unclean. The wet/dry separation in the bathroom is just a plastic curtain, which also looks very unclean.
Cleanliness: Overall, it's okay, but the bottom of the lockers is a bit dirty.
Environment: It's relatively close to Chunxi Road. However, the hotel's layout is really inconvenient. Check-in and check-out require going up to the fifth or sixth floor, and waiting for the elevator takes a long time. The stairs are also very steep. Moreover, the card-access doors on the women's floor were all propped open, so you could just walk up the stairs directly to the women's floor. The washrooms also don't require a card, which feels very unsafe.
Service: Everything else was fine. The cleaning staff only cleaned in the afternoon, so it wasn't noisy. However, it seemed like there weren't many activities."

"My friend immediately recommended Mi Tang when I said I was going to Chengdu for a while, and it definitely didn't disappoint! The reception and common areas are spacious, and the rooms are bright and airy, with private bathrooms and showers, which completely avoids the awkwardness of having to leave your room to wash up. The front desk staff are also incredibly friendly and enthusiastic, and there's a gentle big dog too! I happened to catch a concert event, and everyone sang along on the rooftop – the atmosphere was absolutely amazing. Friends, you really must stay here!"

"An absolutely perfect hostel experience! This was my first time staying at a hostel, and Qishan (吃山) set an incredibly high bar. It was super clean, and everything was very convenient to use. I never encountered any queues for the showers or hair dryers. The people staying there were also really friendly and welcoming, which made it easy to settle in. Each bunk bed had a privacy curtain and individual lighting, offering a comfortable little space of your own. Next time I visit, I won't bother with a hotel; I'll definitely stay here again!"

"The emplacement is rather nice, it's in a narrow street that allows for a more peaceful environment. If you want to call taxis though, they won't get in, you will have to walk to the bigger road (very close by)
To get to the reception, you will have to climb stairs.
If you get a room with shared toilets, just be sure you can handle squat toilets.
The walls are rather thin but earplugs are being provided.
The shared shower area only has heads that can't be moved from the wall.
The shared room has thin mattresses, if you can't handle it, I would recommend a private room instead. If the room is full of luggage, it's possible to put some under the bed."

Guest UserI chose this hostel for my trip to Chengdu, and my stay far exceeded my expectations.
The location is truly unbeatable. It's very close to the metro station, within walking distance, making it super convenient to get to Wenshu Monastery and all the major city attractions. Getting around was a breeze, and it's great value for money.
I had a very comfortable stay. The room was clean and tidy, and the overall environment was quiet and peaceful, perfect for a good rest after a long day of exploring. The amenities were also very thoughtful, with a laundry room and a gym, which was incredibly practical for washing clothes and getting some exercise during my trip.
The biggest surprise was the public area on the ground floor. By day, it's a quiet cafe, and by night, it transforms into a bar with a fantastic atmosphere. There are even live singers performing in the evenings – the 'cafe by day, bar by night' concept was right up my alley. Sitting down to listen to music and have a drink melted away a lot of my travel fatigue. I also met many travelers from different places here, including quite a few international guests. Everyone chatted about their travel experiences, and the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly.
Overall, my experience was fantastic. It's suitable for both solo travelers and those with friends. I honestly recommend it to anyone visiting Chengdu.

Guest UserThe hostel was in a great location, near the metro and chunxi road. The bed was comfortable and you have a locker that you can unlock with your room key. However, the bathrooms were FILTHY. I stayed for 4 nights and every day and every night it was dirty ( counter full of things, old toothpaste tubes, wate splashed everywhere), toilets with overflowing bins ( squat toilets only) and smelly... Was cheap so can't complain too much but probably wouldn't stay here again. Seems to be mostly a chinese crowd who stays there long term as I was the only foreigner there my whole stay.

Pros: the rooms are pretty clean and the bedding is clean. The bathrooms are separate and shared use, but the set-up of the ladies bathrooms is good, the shower area is private and you have your own space to change. The hostel organises a lot of group activities, so u can meet ppl if u wish
Cons: the beds are hard and mattresses are thin. You will not be able to sleep on them. I ended up taking the doona from one bed and putting it on top of the other, and still struggled to sleep. Being on the rooftop, each room has chairs outside to sit and chill, this means that people come back at 2, 3, 5am or whatever and sit and talk/drink, and the sound goes right through the thin windows/doors. The room was clean and tidy, the bed was just the right firmness, and the curtains provided excellent blackout for privacy. The bathroom had good water pressure and was well-maintained. Overall, it felt safe, clean, and had a nice atmosphere. It's great value for money, making it an excellent choice for travelers or those needing long-term accommodation on a limited budget. I'd definitely choose this place again if I need a hostel; it's a safe bet.

They were always gentle and meticulous in helping with small things like asking for directions or storing luggage, providing truly thoughtful service.

I stayed at Chengdu XiangPi Inn for one night (April 14–15, 2026) and booked a bed in the 6-person male-only shared room. Overall, it was a solid budget-friendly option, but there are a few things worth noting depending on what you’re looking for.
The biggest plus is definitely the price—you get exactly what you pay for, and for a short stay it does the job. The room itself was fairly basic but functional. The bed was decent enough for one night, and the space didn’t feel overly cramped despite having multiple occupants. That said, privacy is minimal, as expected in a shared dorm setup.
