I stopped here for one night and it was such a great stay! The rooms are comfortable and they have seating areas in the corridor which is brilliant. I felt really comfortable here and would recommend it to people passing through! 🙌

Zongtu25The location is fantastic, less than a ten-minute walk to Wenshu Monastery, and it's really easy to find. The environment is very quiet, and the beds in the quad room are bigger than dorm beds. There are also dedicated lockers for your belongings, which is a thoughtful touch. The en-suite bathroom has an East Asian style, while the room itself is decorated with a charming wooden, classic touch. The bedding smells lovely, with a subtle floral scent, and there were no hairs or dander – very clean. There's air conditioning and a very responsive hot water system. Most importantly, it's very close to both Wenshu Monastery and People's Park.
This hostel is truly unique! What really captivated me was the cat downstairs; I honestly could spend all day just petting that sweet kitty. I'm very satisfied and definitely planning a second visit in the autumn!

Guest User⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Hard 5/5!
As a girl travelling solo for the first time, I felt very safe staying and had a lot of fun. Even though it’s a hostel, the environment was comfortable and welcoming. One thing I really appreciated was the international power outlets, which was a huge plus for me.
The hostel also offers transportation services to certain attractions and activities, making it very convenient for travellers. The location is excellent — being right next to Chunxi Road meant I could easily explore the city, try local food, and enjoy the area on foot.
A special shoutout to the front desk staff, who were incredibly friendly and always happy to recommend places to visit. Their English was excellent as well, which made communication very easy.
I would highly recommend this hostel to international travellers. If I visit Chengdu again, I would definitely choose to stay here again! ❤️✨

Anonymous UserThe location of the hostel is very good, but the cleanliness was terrible. There were literally mushrooms growing near the sink in the bathroom. On top of that, I had a horrible experience with another guest in my dorm. When I arrived, she approached me wagging her finger like she was lecturing a child, demanding the room door stay open for fresh air because she disliked perfume (even though the AC was running). The next day, she flung the door wide open even tho she saw me getting dressed, which led to an argument. The night before my checkout, between 10 PM and 1 AM, she opened the door 3 times. When I woke up past midnight due to her noise, she was loudly complaining and slammed the door open. I was mad and immediately closed it and told her in English to be quiet. She grabbed my arm and tried to push me aside to open the door, while shouting at me and saying in English that this is a public room. She went to the reception to complain about me. The staff immediately blamed and accused me of spraying perfume in the middle of the night without even asking for my side of the story. Later, it turned out I hadn't sprayed anything. Although the staff eventually apologized, the way the situation was handled was completely unprofessional and unacceptable.

Anonymous UserI had a private room on the rooftop.
Pros: the rooms are pretty clean and the bedding is clean. The bathrooms are separate and shared use, but the set-up of the ladies bathrooms is good, the shower area is private and you have your own space to change. The hostel organises a lot of group activities, so u can meet ppl if u wish
Cons: the beds are hard and mattresses are thin. You will not be able to sleep on them. I ended up taking the doona from one bed and putting it on top of the other, and still struggled to sleep. Being on the rooftop, each room has chairs outside to sit and chill, this means that people come back at 2, 3, 5am or whatever and sit and talk/drink, and the sound goes right through the thin windows/doors. I stayed at Chengdu XiangPi Inn for one night (April 14–15, 2026) and booked a bed in the 6-person male-only shared room. Overall, it was a solid budget-friendly option, but there are a few things worth noting depending on what you’re looking for.
The biggest plus is definitely the price—you get exactly what you pay for, and for a short stay it does the job. The room itself was fairly basic but functional. The bed was decent enough for one night, and the space didn’t feel overly cramped despite having multiple occupants. That said, privacy is minimal, as expected in a shared dorm setup.
Cleanliness was okay, though not perfect. The shared bathroom was usable but could have been maintained a bit better, especially during busier hours. If you’re particular about hygiene, this is something to keep in mind.
The atmosphere was quiet enough when I stayed, and most guests were respectful, which made it easier to rest. Staff interactions were limited but smooth—check-in and check-out were straightforward without any issues.
Overall, Chengdu XiangPi Inn is a practical choice if you’re traveling on a tight budget and just need a place to sleep for a night or two. It’s not luxurious, but it’s functional and reasonably comfortable for short stays.

Guest UserI had such a comfortable stay in the four-person dorm at Backpackers Ten Years Hostel on Chunxi Road in Chengdu this time!
The location is truly unbeatable. It's super close to Chunxi Road, making it incredibly convenient for shopping and visiting attractions. Subway and bus stops are also easy to find, which is perfect for anyone wanting to explore all of Chengdu.
The four-person dorm was clean and tidy, and the beds were very comfortable. The bedding had a subtle, fresh scent, completely avoiding the usual messy feeling of multi-person dorms. Each bunk had its own curtain and charging port, showing great attention to both privacy and convenience, which I really appreciated.
The common areas were also well-maintained, with a lounge and a kitchen. It was lively chatting with friends from all over the world – the atmosphere was fantastic. The staff, both the guys and girls, were incredibly friendly and helpful, answering all my questions and even recommending Chengdu's best food and travel routes. They made me feel very welcome.
The value for money is excellent too. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Chengdu!

The emplacement is rather nice, it's in a narrow street that allows for a more peaceful environment. If you want to call taxis though, they won't get in, you will have to walk to the bigger road (very close by)
To get to the reception, you will have to climb stairs.
If you get a room with shared toilets, just be sure you can handle squat toilets.
The walls are rather thin but earplugs are being provided.
The shared shower area only has heads that can't be moved from the wall.
The shared room has thin mattresses, if you can't handle it, I would recommend a private room instead. If the room is full of luggage, it's possible to put some under the bed.
