Hostels in Beijing, China

It was my first time to visit Beijing and also my first experience in a youth hostel. In summary, my feelings were pretty good. 1. Environment: The hotel's security is guaranteed. There is a coded glass door outside the large area of ​​the room. Each room inside has its own separate coded lock. The code is changed every day. The rooms are all on the third floor. There are more than 30 rooms in total. Men and women can stay together. It's on the first floor, but there are only boys or girls in a room. The hotel is very close to the subway station Shilibao Station, maybe just over 200 meters away. If you want to go to some attractions, it's also close. The sound insulation is relatively weak, but the quality of everyone is generally very good, and basically they don’t talk much after 11pm. 2. Hygiene: The girls' quadruple room I booked has bunk beds like a university dormitory, carpets, heating in the room, and a public trash can at the door of each room🗑️. The bedding is very clean, and you need to put on your own quilt cover and pillowcases. Bedsheets~ 80 yuan per bed in a quadruple room in the off-season is very economical. 3. Facilities: There is a public area at the front desk of the hotel with a small table for working or eating takeaway. The public area is relatively small and has a microwave for use. There are separate men's and women's bathrooms, public men's and women's restrooms, and public laundry rooms. No toiletries, slippers, towels, etc. are provided. You have to bring your own. It is recommended to bring with you for short-term travel: disposable underwear, compressed disposable towels, bath towels, sandals, integrated toothpaste and toothbrush cup, travel toiletry set (shower gel ➕ shampoo), comb, large pack of paper towels, toiletry bag. Better bring another set of pajamas! It’s cold and windy in Beijing in the winter, and it gets dark after five o’clock in the evening. Be sure to bring a thick hat, scarf, gloves, and down jacket before going out~ 4. Service: The big brother who checked in at the front desk was very friendly and easy to talk to if I had any needs. When I renewed my room, he even told me how to get a better deal. Every morning, two aunties would collect garbage and vacuum carpets at the door and do public service. Hygiene of the area. Finally, I would like to thank my roommates for being very friendly and considerate of other people’s feelings. They took the initiative to quiet down late at night so as not to affect each other’s rest. This experience was wonderful, and it’s all over! ! !

Location is definitely fantastic. Walking distance to 2 train stations Nanluoguxiang and Sichahai. You will stay in old style hutong house with modern comforts such as water heater for shower and self regulated room heater during winter. Yes Nanluoguxiang is touristy, but definitely worth it for a first visit to China. Nearby plenty of halal restaurant labelled with the chinese words Qing Zhen 清真。50yuan per wash for laundry, did not use it, hand wash instead. For ladies, best to stay in room with private washroom as the public washroom is mix with men. Downstairs is a cafe that opens at 11am. Did my solat prayers on the floor in the room. They provide free slippers.

It was great staying in this hostel. Everyone who is working here was so polite and nice, always helping us ☺️ the position is good, near subway station. Everyday the towels were changed and the room was cleaned, we had the water bottles . I do recommend it and we will come back again. ☺️ Thank you 🙏

The hostel is alright. It's a bit hard to find as the signs are a bit hard to spot. It's located next to an internet café which may explain the lingering strange smell within the rooms. I arrived late at night after everybody used the facilities and the cleaners didn't have time to go through. There were things like toolboxes in the washimg basins, hair clips in the showers. The top of the beds and showers were really dusty. The location is fine, the subway is not far. Service was very diligent. The other guests are very kind and friendly. It's a nice atmosphere among the guests. For the price, it's an alright stay in Beijing.

I stayed in this hostel for 4 weeks. I enjoyed it a lot. I didn't think that I could live in a hostel for almost a month. Incredible. The location of the hostel is my dream location, in the middle of the hutongs. There are 2 kinds of dorms: with private toilets and with public toilets. Mine was the one with public toilets (inside the hostel, shared with people from the other dorms). What is really missing in this hostel are LOCKERS for putting your valuable.

The location is very good, just outside the Wudaokou subway station, it is very convenient to go to the northeast gate of Tsinghua University; but there is a bar downstairs, sometimes you can hear some noise at night (but my sleep quality is good and it doesn't affect it). The bed has a curtain for privacy, there are plugs and lights, and there is a lot of storage space next to the bed, which is very convenient. The ten-person room has a simple bathroom, and you can also use the shared bathroom outside to wash. Personally, I feel that the hygiene is average, and people without mysophobia should be able to accept it. After all, the cost-effectiveness is really high. The bed is also average. I found a dried contact lens left by the previous person on the bed, but thinking about the cost-effectiveness, it is just enough for one night.

I stayed here for 5 days with my kids during off-peak hours. It was great. There was a small refrigerator, a washing machine, and they also provided laundry beads for washing clothes. The service was very good and the front desk lady was also very nice. The location was also good and it was close to Dashilan and Zhengyangmen. It was also close to the No. 4 ticket gate of Tiananmen Square. There is a Wang Mazi prop store nearby where you can rent mother and child bicycles! The overall feeling was good! The old Beijing Hutong culture is very rich! I like it 😍😍

Originally, I took the train to Beijing last night but there was a temporary change, so I stayed at the hotel again. Boss Yang still asked me to check out later because I was in Miyun Reservoir and couldn't come back in time.

Great location, more than amazing staff and really nice experience overall. The map they give you is superb, and breakfast is also very good. My only con was the fact our room had stairs which I did not realise from the photos, but besides this - The Orchid really made our stay in Beijing feel super special. Thank you!
