I was initially apprehensive about staying in an ”old” hotel, but my worries came to rest. It was similar to a cottage theme with very clean rooms and adequate amentities. Staff were always very friendly, greeting us everytime we leave and return to the hotel, and responds promptly to our housekeeping requests. 10 minutes from the hotel, there is a park with a calming stream, a great place to rest and rewind from the busy city life. Nearest train station is just 5 minutes walk away, and a 30-45 minutes car ride to downtown. Some downsides though, there are no nearby restaurants besides the one in the hotel, and no nearby supermarkets. Utensils were not provided in the room so be prepared to bring your own set. Hotel lifts seem a bit worn out but had not broken down during my stay. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay given the calm surrounding vibes and amazing service. I would consider returning in the future

We had booked the small ‘Jack’ room on-line for one night at this very Scottish bed and breakfast style inn. When we arrived we decided to stay for two nights and upon viewing the Jack room quickly realized that it would not have done for one night and certainly not two. It is tiny, plain, has no extra room even for a chair and has no control over air con or heating in the room. Luckily, the Harrett jacuzzi suite in the Carriage House annex was available for two nights so we treated ourselves. The room is large with a huge four poster king. It was a bit odd having the tub in the corner of the room, and the sink and toilet around a little corner but still quite open so not very private, but quite ok for us long-married types. Sparkling clean, delightfully quiet, lovely bed linens all contributed to a relaxing mini-vacation in Fergus.

Good place to spend a night on the way, Room could have been more clean as there was some foul smell in room. Do not expect much in the breakfast, just boiled eggs and cereals with milk and one fruit.

Very close to the airport, general sanitary conditions, breakfast is self-service, the price is fair, there is a parking lot, rent a car from the airport, you can drive directly to the hotel to park.

If you’re on your way to Manitoulin Island, this hotel is a good base. It’s about a 30 minute drive to the island. There are a few chain restaurants nearby and a grocery store. The hotel staff are courteous and helpful and had me checked-in in a matter of minutes. Checking out of the hotel you just leave your keys in the room and off you go. There is ample parking in the front and rear of the hotel and is monitored with cctv cameras. You can also just look out of your hotel room window and see your car if you’re worried about theft. I would recommend this hotel if you’re looking for a comfy and quiet night of rest.

The front desk staff was good. The breakfast was OK but hot food was terrible, the sausages was cold and 4 small pieces of eggs left in it (all dried up) at 9:45a.m. Supposed the breakfast close at 10a.m but when I asked the attendant to refill some more eggs, she went to check the left over eggs then told me ”there is still some in it”, I said ”it's all dried up and it's not enough for two people, then she told me ”next time you should come earlier. I said ”there were few more people came in after me but nobody wanted to take it”, she told me ”I will try my best”. Finally, I waited 25-30 minutes to get my eggs.

Alas, this trip to the western regions of Ontario was plagued by distant hotels that, in spite of the smallness of the towns in which they were located, nevertheless seemed much further into the outer regions than most travelers would venture. This place had nice staff and a great free breakfast buffet, but another problem was that the TV was either broken or I couldn't figure out how to get it working. The free internet was good enough for me to do a Zoom meeting. Attached is a picture of how far out there it was located!

Clean room, staff was nice and friendly. There isn’t much breakfast available (it was grab & go breakfast), but the hotel is located close to a lot of food chains and restaurants. The hotel is right next to a Dairy Queen, nice for food, but my room window was directly facing the drive thru, which was quite noisy. If you close the window and curtains the sound almost goes away. My room and a double bed, chair, desk, desk chair, and two wardrobes. Overall, it’s a good hotel for a night’s stay.
