YHA Alice Springs
4.2/532 Reviews
I stayed at YHA Alice Springs for six nights; the mixed bedroom was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful! The bathrooms and showers are clean; the common areas are clean. The location is excellent, within a few minutes from the leading shops. Thank you, Anna and Alex, for your hospitality.
Diplomat Hotel Alice Springs

I requested an upstairs room facing the car park & pool. I live remote from Alice & am aware of issues locally. I wanted to view my car I. The parking area & up away from the noise. A young female receptionist who referred to me an older adult as love on arrival, proceeded to put me downstairs by the gate where I am aware of street antics. I went back & requested a move & was moved by a polite male. Upstairs facing my car park. It suits me to stay there as it’s locked at night & tradies stay there & sit out chatting late giving a decreased opportunity for visitors trying to get into your unit. I booked well ahead & clearly it was not too busy. I am NZ Indigenous & I felt this female receptionist was quite unprofessional. I suspect decided she could treat me differently to any non indigenous person & put me anywhere. Not liking it. Otherwise it was my choice as restaurants & food are good.
Riverview Tourist Village

Really nice and quiet park. Great location, loved walking straight out the back of the property to the gorgeous hot springs (only a 5-10 minute walk) and a little way out of the town centre so no parking or noise issues. Friendly service at reception both for check-in and check-out (Dee is lovely). We had a standard ensuite cabin which was comfortable but dated, definitely needs a bit of maintenance (wooden door frames rotting, holes in walls, dirty curtains to name a couple of things). The double bed was surprisingly comfortable and the cabin was spacious enough for the two of us. It was lovely and cool when we arrived as someone had had the foresight to put the air conditioning on for us which was greatly appreciated. Handy kitchen and cooking facilities in the cabin including a full fridge. Cabins seem to be well soundproofed as we were situated right near the communal BBQ area but didn't hear anything even though there were several people about and the people in the cabin next to us were outside drinking until fairly late. The price was reasonable, I guess, for this time of year (top end dry season even though it was still stinking hot) but wouldn't be thrilled about paying that price again outside of peak season. We were happy with the service and accommodation and would stay again.
Darwin Hostel

I chose this hostem becuase its the cheapest and located in the cbd. Theres no check in counter and everything is online. Its a really chilled out hostel and not like the other party hostels around. It has a pool which i havent used. The kitchen is basic but functional.
Darwin Poinciana Inn

This place is now called Poinciana Inn, same location. I was arriving after 1am from the airport as many Darwin flights do. I called twice to ask how to get access to my room, didn't get a callback until some time later, the person on the phone said I'd been sent an email days earlier but I checked and I never received it, not even in my spam email, but after the 3rd phone call I sorted out how to access my room after hours. The room itself is small, there's marks on the walls, not much more than a TV and kettle and fridge in the room itself, at least the aircon worked, I don't know how they can justify $123 a night with such a low maintained place, if I'd known it was this badly kept I would've gone to a backpackers hostel instead. It's definitely overpriced for what you get. The bed was comfortable, the pool was lovely, the location is great, that's about it. The ensuite is small, there's maybe 4 powerpoints in the whole place for charging a phone and other things and 2 of those were used by the TV and kettle, and while I was recovering from arriving at 2am I got a knock on my door that same morning from someone wanting to check the maintenance my air conditioning unit. There has to be better places in Darwin CBD than this. Maybe go for Airbnb next time, finding anything under $150 a night is almost impossible unless you're 15 to 30 minutes out of the city.
Desert Palms Alice Springs

Good budget accommodation. The kitchenette provided was good enough to get buy on. We could not leave the aircon on when not in the villa which I did not like. December is very hot day and night in Alice. The villa itself was clean and the pool is really the reason we booked having stayed before and loved the pool. A bit of a walk into town centre but doable. The reception has basic items available including alcohol. Great for families and groups and couples like us, will be staying here again. My only complaint is I stayed for 9 days and would have liked the room given a full service at least once during that time.
Beagle Hotel

Friendly cleaning staff, clean room and well-maintained pool. Unfortunately, the motel's website contains misleading information. I booked and paid for two nights' stay with breakfast (A$396 in total) in March this year for my stay in June but I was told at check-in the on-site restaurant had been closed since the Covid breakout. No breakfast or substitute was provided and no refund for the breakfast charge was carried out upon check-out. They had three months to inform me of the fact and refund the difference but they did not do anything. I just checked their website. Rooms with breakfast are still being advertised so be careful!
Elkira Court Motel

This is not the Ritz Carlton. But it doesn't claim to be and I would definitely stay here again. It was clean, comfortable, safe, and an easy walk to most everything we wanted to do in town. There's a fridge in the room and a hot pot to make instant coffee. Yes you could hear street noise at night and if people on the street are yelling you can hear it in the room. But that was temporary and only one night for a few minutes. (can't control the population...). We didn't want to drive, and this made it easy to walk to all the bars and restaurants, the grocery store, bus stop, etc. Most of the upscale hotels are much farther away so you'd have to get transportation back and forth or just stay on their property. This worked out great for us and I'd stay there again. Just know it's not the Ritz (and Alice Springs isn't Sydney)...
Litchfield Outback Resort

Room # 5 was spacious & well appointed. Laundry facilities were great. The environment was oasis like. The location was great for access to Litchfield Park. Having the bar & bistro attached to the accommodation venue meant easy access. Meals were great. Margaritas were yummy. Staff were brilliant. Lively good vibe all night. Would definitely recommend and would definitely rebook. Thanks to all for a great stay 🙏🏻🙏🏻
