Nikko Park Lodge Mountain Side

Nikko Park lodge mountain side is an excellent place to stay. For a very reasonable price we got a private room with a bath and toilet and comfortable single beds. The place is clean, the location is beautiful and delicious dinner and breakfast are served for an excellent price. The owners are very nice and helpful, they drove us to the train station which was very kind of them. A taxi from the train station costs 1000 yen. Highly recommend!

Far removed from all the hustle and bustle from the city yet its only 2 hours away. Nikko, just 16.7 miles north of Ustunomiya the capital city of Tochigi Prefecture, is a home to many world heritage site such as legendary Toshogu Shrine. This property is one of a kind and unique. Located 15 minutes drive from Tobu Nikko Station and next to Daiwa River this property has unique blend of tranquility and authentic ryokan experience. The room size is pretty average with the entrance area with a bathroom adjacent to it leading to the living room which can be separated from the entrance area by a fusuma sliding door. The view of Daiwa River and sound of water flowing down the river is like nothing you have experienced before. They also have a first come based private onsen. The view you get from this semi opened air bath combined with relaxing onsen washes away your daily stresses down the drain. Due to the serenity and tranquility, location is not the most ideal. Closest convenience store along with other food option (FYI: most restaurants and diners closes before 6PM) is close to 10 minutes walk via Kokudo 120 leading up to Honcho. However, whether it’s weekend getaways for all Tokyo residents or you’re here for vacation Annex Turtle offers you the upmost relaxation for a reasonable cost.

Dog companion travel ♡ It was a non-contact check-in. First of all, the check-in guide was sent at 10 o'clock the day before the stay. Unlock the door along that password. After entering the room, I talked to the operator by tablet operation. (It was a video call!) See photo for tablet. By the way, there was a URL in the email sent at 10 o'clock the day before, and the guest information was put in advance, so it was very easy on the day. Foreigners (with them) were required to upload passport information and photos. ーーーーー This room type, pet companion villa. Room type needs to be examined! This room was with a sauna (see photo). 24 hours use OK. I think it is basically one person because it is too small for two people. And dog run. However, since it was on the mountain, frost fell and the weather was changeable and it rained lightly, so my child, who was indoors who hated water, hardly used dog runs ... It was a waste ... I think it's good for children who love the outside. ーーーーー It was really good to have furniture, home appliances, kickin supplies, pet supplies, color 々! I wanted to stay for about a week. * As written on the official site, there was no pajamas, so it was essential to bring it.

My mother, sister, niece and I were on a spontaneous trip around Japan and needed a place to stay for a couple of nights in Nikko. We called Yoshiko-san in the morning and, luckily, she could accommodate us. Yoshiko-san is the quintessential host. Gracious, kind, welcoming, generous and so accommodating. She gave us specific instructions on how to get there from our current location and picked us up from the train station. We were welcomed into an immaculate home with well appointed kitchen and bathroom with wonderful amenities, a fridge stocked with snacks, breakfast food, fresh fruit, coffee and tea that were replenished daily. The bathroom had wonderful amenities as well as plenty of clean, crisp towels. The futons were comfortable and the house easily accommodated the four of us. There was a washing machine to do laundry as well. Yoshiko-San was a font of great information for visiting guests and so generous to drive us around to attractions , bus and train stations as well as give us recommendations on sites and restaurants. The house is located in a beautiful neighborhood near a river with some eateries and a convenience store within an easy walk. Yoshiko-san lives directly across the street and is available by intercom from the house. We felt so fortunate to have found such a perfect place to stay on such short notice. We all agreed that we would return to Nikko just to stay here again! We recommend to anyone wanting a clean and comfortable place to stay with a most gracious host. ♥️

Location is special, we liked being in a forest by a stream and it was possible to walk to town. The place is old fashioned, simple small room, the bathroom needs more cleaning. Nice little onsen, all full of character. The owner is very kind, and the meals were excellent.
The Pageant

We loved The Pageant and the owner, we call him Mountain (because it means Mountain in Japanese) made the experience AMAZING! Not only was he very warm and kind, he also took us back and forth to the train station which is a far walk and not in the main part of town. However, his place was worth the stay. Our room was very large, the bathroom very clean. He has several private onsens that we used both nights of our stay and they felt amazing after hiking Nikko National Park. Breakfast was super delicious. We loved The Pageant and we love Mountain!

Japanese-style family hotel, 200 meters from JR Nikko Station and 300 meters from Tobu Nikko Station, the boss is two old couples. The proprietress received us, because we didn't arrive at the check-in time, we stored our luggage first, and the proprietress warmly received us, told us to go to the scenic spot route, where to take the tour bus, and also gave free breakfast the next day, which was very intimate. The room is on the second floor. The tatami is small but clean and hygienic; The shower room, the restaurant is on the first floor, and there are all the necessary facilities. Thank you for the thousand paper cranes sent by the proprietress.

Everything was great! We lived here for three days in April 2024. The hosts are very friendly and attentive. Breakfast and dinner were very tasty and large, so during the day we didn’t even want to have lunch while walking. Everything in the room is clean and tidy. The place is quiet and beautiful. Nearby there is a large supermarket with everything you need. The bus stop to the waterfalls and lake is also very close. There is also a public onsen nearby, we had a good time there too. In general, we really liked everything! Thank you!
