"The water heater is not convenient enough to take a bath. It is pulled up with a simple curtain. There is no glass door to isolate dry and wet. The curtains in the house are too long to hang on the ground and some dirty. The bedside is a bit loose. The sink faucet needs to be opened with hot water. The valve below, the sofa does not need to be easy to dirty in the house and occupy space. Changed to simple plastic stools is simple and hygienic. After checking out, there is a special aunt to clean up and clean the sheets, but it is recommended to do hot water, drinking water, hygiene and some details. "My family chose this hotel for our May Day holiday, primarily drawn by its 'forest' vibe. We stayed for two nights, and overall, it was a great experience. First off, the location is super convenient. There are tons of restaurants nearby, and it's a quick drive or taxi ride to Huangshan North Station, Tunxi Old Street, and Xidi. Even though the hotel is on a hillside, there are convenient boardwalks for getting around. Second, the hotel's natural setting is a highlight. The main building blends seamlessly with its surroundings, without feeling artificial. Sitting in the lobby, looking out the windows and doors, it felt very traditional Anhui and incredibly relaxing. The moss on the hotel's corners and dark tiles added a charming, authentic touch. Third, the service was excellent. The staff were all very welcoming and spoke gently. They even gave us a Zhanji souvenir when we checked out, which was a thoughtful touch. Fourth, the rooms are spacious, and the amenities are quite well-appointed. The shower pressure was fantastic, and the bed was just the right level of comfortable. Lastly, I truly believe that anyone who puts so much care into running a guesthouse will undoubtedly earn a big thumbs up from their guests. I highly recommend staying here!"

"Was pleasantly surprised to find such an authentic century old cluster of 4 buildings beautifully renovated with modern amenities and yet manage to create a Zen environment that has a historic vibe with a peaceful atmosphere of tree, shrubs, flowers and artifacts. It has a beautiful appointed common areas to relax in with individual rooms for tea ceremony, music, reading and more. The hotel is 40 meters behind the main pedestrian street with all the shops and restaurants but it is all quiet and tranquil in the hotel, like you just step back in time. The breakfast is a little spartan and limited choices. I was ok with coffee, eggs and toast, it has limited Chinese breakfast selection. But 40 meters away on the Main Street you will find Starbucks,
Dairy Queen, and KFC in the same corner, that was a bigger surprise. A stay to remember, unique and a great way to relax and appreciate peacefulness after a day of sight seeing. The room is spacious, good bed, clean, has a kettle, mini fridge with high quality Chinese tea leaves to brew your own tea. Highly recommend place to stay in the area."

"It was a great stay with ac cooled rooms, great bathroom and a nice view. I had the honeymoon type suite with the queensize bed.
The hostess is Very friendly, she offered to make food after breakfast time, which was a little early for us with the time difference (+ 6 hours compared to the Netherlands). Also, she booked several taxi’s for us and was willing to be available even during late hours when we wanten to have a late night drink in the city.
The location is suberb, just outside the local city and a 5 minutes taxi drive to the transfer station for the bus/Cable to Yellow mountain.
The only downside was that the pool was empty. We were looking forward using this, the weather is very warm.
All in all I would for sure go back in the future.

"I highly recommend this hotel for its location, cleanliness and overall decor and room layout. We stayed in a family room with a bunk bed for the kids. The rooms were generous in space and furnishing very modern. The river view from the floor to ceiling windows was stunning and gorgeous. Breakfast was hearty and the cafe bar serves strong coffee.
The hotel arranged a driver to take us out for day trips to Tunxi and Xidi. Our driver Mr Sheng 盛 is very capable and professional, and steps up as a narrative guide at locations where there are no official guides."

"This hotel exceeded all our expectations!
Let’s start with the hosts, who messaged us in advance and arranged a pick up from the train station (which was very convenient and cheaper than Didi). They also answered all of our questions and helped us with our luggage.
The room was very beautiful and clean. The bed very soft. I wish we had booked the room for longer and get to Huangshan from there.
The hotel itself is amazing, it has a great balcony where you can observe the street and the decor is tasteful.
The breakfast was delicious and fresh.
The hotel is situated very close to Tunxi road, there are shops, cafés and lovely bars with live music further down the street.
Also what was extremely helpful and nice from the owner : he was explained us how to navigate the mountain and gave us important tips. We received a map mafe by him with instructions based on the kind of hike we wanted to have. With this information, we had a successful adventure on the Huangshan mountain.
When I come to Tunxi next time I will definitely book the same hotel again, it is by far the prettiest and the most welcoming hotel we have visited. Thank you again for this experience!"

"This time I made an appointment with my friend to play all the way from Jixi. For the convenience of the return trip, I specially booked a homestay near Huangshan North Station. The room was very clean and the experience was good. The boss was very good. I arranged a pick-up station. I went to the southwest of Xi the next morning. The boss’s father said that it was just on the way. We took the initiative to send us there and let us see the very beautiful Shiqiao Village. Although there are no restaurants and businesses around the hotel, eating can be solved in the hotel. There is a restaurant on the first floor. The boss personally cooks. The craftsmanship is good."

What really sets this place apart is not just the beautiful property, but the level of care and service provided throughout the entire stay.
Even before our arrival, the host proactively contacted us via WeChat to confirm details and assist with planning. Communication was extremely smooth and responsive — no matter what time of day we had questions, we always received quick and helpful replies. For a destination like Jiuhua Mountain, where logistics and routes can feel overwhelming for first-time visitors, this kind of support makes a huge difference and immediately puts you at ease.
The room itself exceeded our expectations. It was spacious, bright, and very comfortable, with a layout that worked perfectly for a family stay. Unlike many homestays that feel cramped, this room had plenty of space to relax, unpack, and truly rest. The bedding was clean and soft, and the overall atmosphere was calm and quiet, allowing us to sleep extremely well. Housekeeping standards were excellent — everything felt carefully maintained and spotlessly clean.

The furnishings and daily amenities in the rooms are of high quality, and everything is meticulously maintained, clean, and elegant. Fresh flowers adorn every corner, both indoors and out in the courtyard. Nestled against the mountain, enveloped by mist and clouds, the entire hotel exudes a unique tranquility found only in the mountains and forests—peaceful and restorative.
Every staff member here looks relaxed and treats guests with warmth and enthusiasm. There's no forced politeness, just perfectly attentive service. My personal butler was especially thoughtful, always anticipating my minor needs in advance, making me feel completely at ease and well cared for.
I wasn't feeling well and casually mentioned wanting some millet porridge. They went out of their way to arrange it. These small acts of kindness are what truly touch the heart.
They say Shilin Cliffs is the best hotel in Huangshan, and experiencing it firsthand, I now understand that this reputation is well-deserved. The price is indeed on the higher side, but all the wonderful experiences complement each other perfectly. The excellent environment, thoughtful details, and attentive service all justify the cost.
It’s rare to find such a comfortable and soothing haven in the mountains, a place to slow down and find peace. It was a comfortable and truly healing stay, and when I return to Huangshan in the future, I will choose this place again.

We were a group of 8 people and had an unforgettable stay here. The hotel owner is one of the kindest and most helpful people we’ve ever met. From the moment we arrived, he welcomed us warmly, gave us great local recommendations, and even personally drove us to each destination!
On the day we went hiking in the mountains, he provided us with free walking sticks. He helped us with everything — arranging transfers, buying entrance tickets, and planning the route. He also allowed us to check in early and check out late, which was incredibly convenient.
I shared room 8303 with my friend. The room is designed for two people and had two separate beds, both very comfortable to sleep in. There was also an air conditioner in the room, which made our stay even more pleasant.
Another thing we’re super grateful for — the owner kindly let us do laundry. After hiking in the mountains, our clothes definitely needed it!
The view from the window was absolutely stunning. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, full of natural light, and have plenty of power outlets. The showers were great, with clean water and convenient showerheads. There were all the necessary toiletries: body soap, shampoo — we recommend bringing your own conditioner if needed.
The hotel can also prepare food for guests. We really enjoyed the tomato and egg noodles — delicious and homey.
There’s also a local café nearby where we had breakfast a few times.
The hotel is located in the mountains, perfectly positioned for visiting nearby attractions, waterfalls, hiking spots, and even riding quad bikes.
A tip: bring a good quality raincoat if you’re visiting during rainy weather!
The owner speaks basic English, and even though it wasn’t easy for him, he patiently explained everything to us in English with so much kindness and care. He truly went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable — even helped us search for a lost phone in the mountains!
He also called us in advance before our arrival to confirm our plans and helped arrange a transfer to the train station after check-out.
We wish him and his family good health, happiness, and prosperity. He and this hotel deserve not just 5 stars, but 1000! Wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.
The owner speaks basic English, and even though it wasn’t easy for him, he patiently explained everything to us in English with so much kindness and care. He truly went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable — even helped us search for a lost phone in the mountains!
He also called us in advance before our arrival to confirm our plans and helped arrange a transfer to the train station after check-out.
We wish him and his family good health, happiness, and prosperity. He and this hotel deserve not just 5 stars, but 1000! Wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.

GGuest UserIt's a little far from Namdaemun, about ten minutes' drive, but the owner of the B&B is very nice, pick up and drop off. I arrived a day in advance and wanted to store my luggage up the mountain. I called and he immediately drove to move my luggage. It was very quick, so it's no problem if you don't drive yourself. The room is relatively new and clean, and there is a large terrace. Next to it is a small river with very clear water. The environment feels better than some hotels at the foot of the mountain. The breakfast is relatively simple, and you can add more if it's not enough. I just came back from climbing the mountain and I was not feeling well and wanted to eat something light. Overall, I still recommend it

Let's talk about the general environment of the ancient town first. It is said that tickets are charged on holidays. Few shops are open at night, and there are few people in the morning. It is said that there are performances, but there is nothing suitable for children after looking at the program list. Many shops are closed, and the streets with closed doors can also show that they were once prosperous. It should be good.
Let's talk about the hotel. The room area is OK and the environment is generally good, but my child is afraid of the slide and thinks it is too steep. I tried it myself and it was true, so I lost one of the fun of booking this room.
The breakfast is really incomparable to star hotels. It is matched by the owner himself.
I saw the reviews before that the small animals that can be fed were only empty cages. There was a cat. The baby could only play with the cat for a while. On the way to the room, I had to pass the cat house. The smell almost made me faint.
There are also advantages. In terms of service, the boss contacted in advance. When I arrived, the boss went to the door to pick up the tickets in person. There were several times in the middle when the remote control and bed sheets were replaced. The boss solved it quickly. The owner of the B&B is indeed very responsive to the guests' service and has a very good attitude. The air conditioning in the room is very powerful, the terrace is quite comfortable, and it feels good to sit on the terrace as the sun sets.
Overall, I gave it a score of four, and I hope it can be better. Or the price can be more affordable.

My husband and I stayed in the Mountainscape Terrace Mountain View Suite, which genuinely felt like a 5‑star hotel room. It was spotless, beautifully furnished, and equipped with an incredibly comfortable bed, a fully stocked mini fridge, and a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains. The smart controls operated by “Xiao Bao” were a fun and convenient touch. We were completely blown away and honestly wished we could have stayed in the room forever.
Even before our arrival, the staff communicated with us via WeChat to ensure everything went smoothly. We were able to speak with an English‑speaking staff member who took care of every detail for us—booking the hot springs, arranging breakfast, dinner, and afternoon tea, and even offering to help us get to the train station on our last day. Their attentiveness went far beyond anything we’ve experienced at other hotels. We were even given a thoughtful bag of gifts upon departure.
Because the hotel is quite isolated, we ate all our meals on-site. The cuisine is Chinese, which isn’t usually my preference, but everything was delicious, freshly prepared, and presented with great care. A standout was the afternoon tea we enjoyed on our second day. We could choose to dine in our room or at the restaurant, which was perfect depending on how we felt each day.
The highlight of our stay was definitely the hot springs. There are four in total, and we used the two located higher on the hill, which offered an incredible view—even on a cloudy day. The temperature was perfect, and everything was exceptionally clean. The staff assured us that each pool is drained and refilled after every use, which gave us great peace of mind. Soaking in the hot springs in the heart of winter, surrounded by Huangshan’s beautiful mountains, was an unforgettable experience.
The hotel is about an hour from both Huangshanxi and Huangshanbei stations and easily reachable by car or Didi. Due to the weather, we didn’t visit the mountain scenic area, but the staff were more than willing to help us plan if we wanted to explore the surroundings.
This was truly a 10/10 stay. The staff make you feel like you’re the only guests there with their warmth and attentiveness. The design and architecture are stunning, and the hotel even smells amazing. I have absolutely no complaints and would rank this among the best hotels I’ve stayed at anywhere in the world. It’s a perfect romantic getaway, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful escape. I can’t wait to return!

I booked a long stay here as a retreat and break from the work and it is exactly everything I need to unwind and recharge.
The guesthouse ran by a husband and wife team are so hospitable and go the extra mile to make sure my stay here is relaxing and I have everything I need to work and go about my day.
The room i am staying in is very brightly lighted with a desk for me to work. I have to say the bed is also very comfortable and I have been sleeping well every night.
The surrounding is so peaceful and tranquil, with gardens and flowers and mountain peaks in the distance. I am rather glad I am staying here in the valley instead of near the centre.
In terms of service, the boss is very helpful and responsive to my messages when we need to ask any question or require a pick up after the hikes. The lady boss is similarly extremely friendly, warm and kind and ensure my needs and well being is looked after every day. She cared for me like her own family.
I really appreciate them going the extra mile to help a foreigner like me who struggle with the language.
I would strongly recommend this lovely and cosy guesthouse to any local and foreigner who is looking for an amazing visit to Huangshan for a few days or up to a month. They will ensure you are well taken care of and your stay is absolutely delightful.

The moment we stepped in, the walls were covered with blooming roses, so gentle and soothing, instantly washing away all my fatigue. The housekeeper was incredibly thoughtful, accompanying us throughout, helping us take so many beautiful photos, just like a natural friend. The food was an even bigger surprise; we tasted the most authentic flavors, and they even used their own cold-pressed rapeseed oil – truly heartfelt down to the core.
The environment was quiet and comfortable, providing a sense of relaxation I hadn't experienced in a long time, truly healing for the soul. In the afternoon, sitting in the tea garden behind the guesthouse, zoning out, unwinding, and sipping tea, with not a single worry on my mind. This is what travel should be like: peaceful, warm, full of life, and poetic.

It is good to know that the reception is in the 3rd floor. The room was spacious and clean. The bed was very comfortable.
