Shangri-La Homestays

The hotel is very well located, right in the heart of Dukezong Ancient Town. You can get to all the main attractions in Dukezong by foot. The staff is also helpful. They helped us carry our luggage from the hotel to the gate of the old town after we checked out. The bedroom is spacious and cozy, it makes you feel in tune with the traditional ******* lifestyle.

Yachajiao is a wonderful hotel with a spectacular location! Seated in the Tiger Leaping Gorge you have amazing views of the Yulong Snow Mountain. We stayed there for one night for our hike but if we had time we would gladly stay longer! The check in was smooth and fast, communication through WeChat was convenient and the food at the restaurant was delicious. Breakfast was a mix of Chinese and Western and gave us a good start for our hike. They have an outdoor pool with mountain views but it was sadly enough too cold in winter to try it out. The staff were friendly and very helpful! For sure we will remember this lovely guesthouse with the amazing views!

Awesome stay. We have only good things to say about this accommodation. Firstly, the location was absolutely perfect with easy car access and within short walking distance to the old town. Most importantly, the boss was very helpful and welcoming. We were thankful that he went above and beyond in helping to link us up for our tour transport which made it a seamless experience. Room was well designed, spacious and clean. Highly recommend.

The hostel is very conveniently located along the trail, with a beautiful terrace where you can enjoy coffee and meals. The room was simple, with two separate beds and a private bathroom with a shower. Initially, there was no hot water, but the staff quickly addressed the issue and got it working. The room was equipped with heated sheets, a kettle, and extra blankets, making it comfortable for a one-night stay.

Highly praised: 1. Full of ethnic characteristics, I like it very much 2. The room has very good lighting, and you can see the yard from the window 3. Shangri-La is very cold at night, and there are radiators and electric blankets in the room ready for sleeping, and quilts + blankets on the bed 4. The towels are disposable, and people with mysophobia can use them with confidence. There are disposable slippers and plastic slippers, and they are fully equipped 5. The store owner has a very good service attitude. The toilet light broke halfway, and he took the initiative to help me change rooms 6. The location is good, a few dozen meters away from the main road, convenient for taxis, and there are many food and drinks around, and you can also eat in the store There is room for improvement: 1. It is very shaking when going up and down the stairs, which is not friendly to friends with heavy luggage 2. Later, the hot water on the fourth floor was not warm enough, but I was in a hurry to check out, so I didn't give any feedback 3. The log house has no sound insulation, but the overall environment is quiet In summary, it is highly recommended and will be considered if I come again next time

The place is located at the border of the ancient city. Therefore it’s easy to reach all places by feet or taxi and plenty of restaurants are around. Even by minus degrees you will not feel cold in the rooms and the shower water is close to steam… - breakfast was included and is a simplified Chinese breakfast. Coffee is basically not available. Cleaning could be better especially in bathroom. The place is led by young couples and they are helpful for any organization needed, even though just with translation. Overall it’s a good option in Shangri-La for which you should not plan more than one day & night visit.

Located within ancient city and a short bus ride to Songzhanling Monastery. No lack of F&B and supermarket, pharmacy within walking distance from Inn. Clean room. Service is good and friendly. Toilet seems to have some leaking though, floor is always wet even before we shower. Water pressure of shower is relatively good. Breakfast is local noodle soup or western toast, eggs and yoghurt with fruits. Both are delicious.

We had a lovely time at Yumu Zhiye! The inn was close to the ancient town of ShangriLa and accessible by car. The staff were very friendly and helpful, communication by WeChat was convenient. Breakfast was a mini buffet with mainly Chinese food. The inn provided a fruit platter and some drinks everyday which was a very nice gesture. As there are no elevators in the building the staff helped us with the luggages. The room we booked had floor heating which is nice during winter and well laid out: enough space for a family of four.

Tickets for two people at the Balagezong Scenic Area (including sightseeing bus tickets): Very cost-effective, saving the ticket money for two people, and the room is very large, the staff are very enthusiastic, it is really lucky to meet such a scenic spot and staff when I take my parents out for the first time. The hotel is very good, the ecology is natural and there are many wild animals, and there are monkeys outside the window to accompany tea. Because the weather was bad, I waited for a day in Dukezong before going up the mountain. Because it was the first time to enter the ******* area and brought my parents who were looking forward to the journey and encountered rainy days, I was very nervous. As a result, Brother Dorje who came to the city to pick us up kept comforting us on the way, telling us about the customs of the ******* area, introducing the beautiful Shangri-La, and the sacred mountain of Balagezong. Brother Dorje is also very good at driving. My mother is an old car sick person. When we arrived at the hotel, she did not have high sickness or car sickness. It was cloudy all the time on the road. In the afternoon of that day, I visited the Echo Wall accompanied by the housekeeper. Suddenly, the sky cleared up, a crack appeared in the clouds, and the sun sprinkled on the Shangri-La Grand Canyon. It was so beautiful. The next day, there was a lot of fog on the way to the pagoda. The driver was very humorous and his driving skills were very stable. I saw many people on the Internet getting carsick on the way to the pagoda, but the passengers on the bus that day were very happy and no one got carsick. The employees of Balagzong should be very good. I was completely healed by the staff here. Ten minutes after arriving at the pagoda, the fog suddenly dissipated. The pagoda in the first snow appeared in front of us under the clear sky. It was so exciting at that moment. The highlight of this trip to Yunnan was Balagzong, where I seemed to see my parents when they were young, and they were as happy as children. A beautiful, quiet, neat inn owned by a kind and hospitable couple. Shangri-La winters can be very cold, the owners ensured maximum warmth with heated flooring, additional heating by providing a heater, blankets, etc. The Inn is situated in the heart of the Ancient Town. The inn is clean, tidy, and above all quiet and tranquil. If I am ever in Shangri-La again I will definitely book this inn.
