A return trip for the Port Fairy Literary Weekend and of course I had to stay at Ashmont Motor Inn and Apartments again. It's cosy, modern, accessible and welcoming family owners and staff helping you with any queries. Super comfy beds too! And extra's from irons to hair dryers mean every thing is on hand. Off street parking make it easy to get in and out of your car, but once you park the town is in walking distance. As a writer I also love that the rooms have ample tables, desks, chairs and couches for writing (and reading spots) as well as WiFi and kitchen amenities. Ashmont Inn gets my rave reviews every time

The whole experience was lovely from the greeting at the front desk, the heater already on to preheat the room, fresh milk in the fridge & a comfortable & very warm bed (included electric blankets). The hotel is older but it was very clean & appeared freshly painted. It is in the centre of town & close to restaurants.

This boutique hotel, located in delightful Port Fairy, deserves all of the accolades that previous guests have given it. Our room (suite1) was located in Riverdale House, built in 1852. The owners have done an amazing job of modernising the accommodation, bringing it right up to date with a delightful eye for detail and design. The accommodation has all that one could wish for in terms of a great bed, stylish en-suite, Island bath, settee, table/chairs, tv/dvd, crockery and cooking facilities. Breakfast is provided in a very stylish annex, with a selection of lovely locally/home produced products. Gusts also have use of s couple of bicycles and a small pool. Drift House is run by a lovely couple and they deserve every success.

We stayed in the waterfront apartment. On arrival we were met in a very welcoming and warm way. The apartment was just as welcoming. Extremely clean, had everything you needed and also that stuff you would forget to pack when you left home. The ambiance, views and warmth of the apartment was so refreshing and well worthy of a 5 star rating. It had everything you would have at your home and as such you were immediately comfortable. As a first time visitor to this apartment it will now be my preferred choice of where to stay whenever I am in the Port Fairy, Warrnambool or Portland area. Chris MIller Queenscliff

I (as well as others in my group) was so excited to visit the A1 motels port fairy . Our main reason for visiting Australia is to stay here, to enjoy this lodge and see Kangaroo Island. We arrived on Feb 2 and really enjoyed the afternoon walking the beach. We enjoyed the evening visiting with kangaroos , then a wonderful dinner. I have to say that the staff did an awesome job . The employees are definately professionals. They made sure that all of the guests were safe and taken care of. My hopes so many more people can experience this magical place.

The hotel is a self-contained lodge with a very well-equipped facilities, a very warm decoration, and a good homestay. If you are staying at the time, it is worth recommending. It is close to a small island with kangaroos and you can see two small kangaroos.
