We stayed overnight to celebrate a special occasion and had a very memorable and enjoyable experience. The service was excellent and the room and property were beautifully presented. The highlight of the stay was the 5 course meal at The Long Apron Restaurant, with the food, wine and service all being top notch. The staff also went above and beyond as we unfortunately had a accident that required some medical attention, a very kind staff member named Suzanne (Please correct me if I got the name wrong!) did not hesitate to take us to the nearest hospital despite it being after midnight, thank you again Suzanne!

Bed is comfy as , but I prefer stiffer pillow as theirs if fluffy as . The views are literally breath taking . And in the spar looking out over the coast and mountains day or nite is beautiful . Shops close by butvi stay indoors mainly . One night and I want to live here . Everything is at your bekon call , or you don't see a soul . I'll be coming back for sure , most relaxing and quite time I've had ever anywhere in three days . First nite was a release of everything you needed to chill and get away from everything. Very highly recommended for folk who Like beautiful views and tranquillity . 10 stars 🌟 Z. Hanel

Suprise weekend away for my Birthday! My husband couldn't have chosen a better place to stay. Having travelled a fair bit and accustomed to a 5-star romantic getaway from time to time, this place has to be one of the best we have ever experienced. The quality of Service, Accommodation, and attention to detail was exceptional. King Parrots visited us of a morning while we watched the mist clear for Lake Baroon. Being Coeliac was not an issue as the owners catered daily for my dietary needs. Apart from a magnificent, serene view, the cabin was immaculate. The owners had supplied us with complimentary bath salts, candles for the beautiful spa. Bath robes and slippers that we changed into and soon became the attire for the entire weekend. Gluten free muesli, bread, sausages, bacon, tomatoes and mushrooms was a great meal to start the day alongside orange juice and coffee. At 8am every morning we received fresh Gluten Free Croissants which filled the cabin with such an aroma. The complimentary port set up with glasses was a beautiful touch while we sat by the fire with our happy hour platter we had bought with us. Once I set foot in this cabin, I did not want to leave. Fortunately, the owner's source and deliver platters for you to cook during your stay. We chose the Reef and Beef! 2 eye fillets, garlic prawns, and a Salad were delivered to us to enjoy. Pecan pie and cheesecake was the dessert of the day! Absolutely delicious. This cabin sits far enough away from the hustle and bustle but close enough (at the end of the street) is Montville cafe's shops and restaurants. Best of both worlds. I found the wine cellar at reception handy as we grabbed a bottle of port to take home with us. I can't wait to go back again one day. The cabin we stayed in was called the Savoy. You have to stay here; you will not regret it!

Has something changed in the last few months? New owners? Not sure, but it didn't meet the expectations we had come to rely on after many years staying here. The rooms seemed bare, with the 2 and 3 bedroom apartments having insufficient seating to let all the occupants sit down. Parts of the rooms/balconies are run down with rotting tables and blinds covered in cobwebs, though the interiors remain sparse, but clean, some furniture has seen better days though. The location means there is almost no mobile phone reception, meaning guests are heavily reliant on wifi, which quite frankly is not fit for purpose (slower than dial up) with spotty coverage as you move around. If you are seeking to disconnect from the world then you're on a role. For the rest of us, it is useless even for simple news reading, if you have teenagers who need to plug in while away, don't stay here. The restaurant, once a superb dining experience is reduced to pub style meals with a pay at the counter approach that somehow seems at odds with the up-market dining area. We tried it one evening, but spent the rest of our stay walking up the hill into the town for food where there are many options available. The staff were friendly and approachable, but the place has lost its pizzaz and appeal. Given the competition in the area, this is a shame. This will be the last time we choose to stay here, which after 4 years of eager returns is a testimony to how it has changed.
