The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of fresh, delicious options, and every meal I had at the restaurant was of excellent quality. The facilities, including the gym, pool, and spa, are well maintained and add tremendous value to the overall experience. What truly sets The Catalyst apart is the exceptional customer service. Every member of staff went above and beyond to ensure my stay was enjoyable, always greeting guests with a smile and a willingness to help. "This hotel is directly connected to the airport and, despite having only three floors, boasts a very large number of rooms. Johannesburg Airport is convenient for travel within Africa, so I frequently use this hotel for layovers. Since the airport itself is safe, it's very convenient. I always travel with a suitcase, and the hotel is so expansive that walking through the carpeted corridors can be a bit of a trek. The only inconvenience is that some rooms have refrigerators while others don't. Otherwise, everything else is fine. I'm sure I'll continue to use this hotel in the future."

The hotel is clean, comfortable, and convenient for an overnight stay before or after a flight. Pros: * Very clean rooms and common areas. * Convenient location close to the airport. * Friendly and professional staff. * Comfortable beds for a good night’s sleep. Cons: * There are stairs in some sections of the hotel, which made it quite difficult to move around with heavy luggage. * There was a noticeable noise coming from the air conditioner during the night. * Guests are still required to fill out a paper check-in form, which feels outdated since most of that information has already been provided when booking online. Overall, I had a pleasant stay. Despite a few inconveniences, it’s a comfortable and practical choice for travelers needing accommodation near Johannesburg Airport. I would stay here again, especially for the convenience before an early flight."

"⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Perfect airport hotel with such a cool aviation theme ✈️ I really enjoyed my stay at Protea Hotel by Marriott O.R. Tambo Airport. If you need somewhere to stay before or after a flight from O.R. Tambo, the location is incredibly convenient — the hotel is only about 3.5 km from the airport and provides a complimentary airport shuttle, which makes travelling so much easier. The first thing that stood out to me was the aviation theme. It’s carried throughout the hotel, from the aeroplane-inspired artwork to the industrial-style furniture and décor. Even my room continued the theme, which gave it so much more character than a typical airport hotel. My room was clean, modern and comfortable, with a very comfortable bed, TV, tea and coffee facilities and a small fridge. I also really liked the rainfall shower and the overall open, contemporary bathroom design. The hotel’s rooms are soundproofed too, which is definitely appreciated considering how close you are to the airport. The hotel also has an outdoor swimming pool, a 24-hour gym and an on-site restaurant called The Warehouse, which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Room service is available as well, so you really don’t need to leave the property if you’re only there for a short stopover. What I liked most was that it actually feels like an airport hotel in the best possible way. ✈️ The aeroplane photographs, aviation-style furniture and little design details make the property interesting and memorable rather than just somewhere convenient to sleep. Overall, I would definitely recommend Protea Hotel O.R. Tambo Airport for layovers, early-morning flights, late arrivals or even an overnight stay between connecting flights. Comfortable, clean, convenient and literally minutes away from the airport. ⭐️ 5/5 — I would definitely stay here again, especially when flying through Johannesburg. ✈️❤️"
