"Toba International Hotel Shiojitei was an absolute highlight of our trip. The exceptional service truly stood out, embodying the Japanese spirit of 'omotenashi' from start to finish. This began with the shuttle pick-up from Toba Station, followed by detailed guidance during check-in, and enthusiastic explanations of each dish in the restaurant – every interaction was flawless.
The food, featuring local delicacies like Ise Bay seafood and Matsusaka beef, was undeniably delicious and beautifully presented. While you mentioned the portion sizes were 'rather average,' this is typical of kaiseki-style dining; although there are many courses, individual portions are small. For those with larger appetites, it might feel a little insufficient. The hotel facilities are well-maintained, with both the guest rooms and the onsen area (the Pearl Onsen left our skin sparkling!) being spotlessly clean. Overall, it has no obvious weaknesses; the service, dining, and ambiance harmonized perfectly to provide the best hotel experience of our trip."

"It was good that the front desk at check-out was polite and helpful. It was also a high point to have a sauna and an open-air bath. Amenity was the minimum necessary. We recommend using the bus as it is a little far from the nearest station."

"When planning my summer vacation trip, I suddenly wanted to go to Ise. When I was looking for a hotel on ctrip, I saw the Ise Jingu Hotel. There were few reviews, so I decided with trepidation. The hotel was just across the street from Ise Station. It was very close and the staff were very friendly. We arrived a little early and they stored our luggage for us. We went out for a walk first. When we came back, the room was ready. They confirmed the breakfast and dinner times with us. Then, we went back to the room. The room was not big, but there was a hot spring on the terrace, so we didn’t have to go to the public hot spring. When we had dinner, they made two other beds for us, so our family of four could sleep well. The dinner and breakfast were both very rich, but the two kids couldn’t finish them all, which felt a bit wasteful. I don’t know if we can choose a children’s set meal. In addition, I don’t know if it was because of the language communication. They didn’t introduce us to the use of the hot spring and other public facilities in advance. It was a bit of a pity, but I still gave it a good review."

"All the staff except for the front desk staff were foreigners, but they all spoke excellent Japanese and provided friendly and polite service.
After dinner, I went to the bath. The hot water in the washing area gradually cooled down as I used it, and eventually stopped flowing altogether, so I quickly warmed up in the bathtub. There was no hot water for rinsing off when I got out, which made me quite cold.
In the washing area, another guest asked me, ”There's no hot water, is there? The bath in my room doesn't have hot water either, and when I contacted the front desk, they told me to use the public bath...” So, I wonder if it's a problem with the facilities? Incidentally, my husband, who bathed before dinner, said the men's bath was fine."

"It was the best hospitality! I asked for a shuttle bus, but the driver taught me how to worship and the shop recommended, and when I came back from the rain, my shoes were wet. He lent me a machine to dry my shoes, and everyone responded very comfortably. And the sense of distance that I could worship in the early morning of Naiku was also great. I used a lot of open-air baths in my room, large communal baths, and private open-air baths, but the hot water makes my skin smooth! I put it in the hot spring while taking a forest bath and was very healed. Thank you for your service. I would like to use it again."

The hotel was conveniently located close to the ferry terminal, and the views were absolutely stunning! They had three different baths, and the food was delicious too!! For dinner, the Matsusaka beef Ise Udon was a highlight, and in the morning, the white miso soup with mekabu was so tasty!! I also bought some of the delicious nori tsukudani (seaweed paste) that was served at breakfast from their souvenir shop! And some local sake too!! Everyone was so kind, and the atmosphere was really welcoming and gentle, making me want to stay again. I'll definitely be back!!"

The kaiseki dinner and breakfast were exceptional. Every dish showcased the freshness of the local seafood and seasonal ingredients, with each course thoughtfully presented. Dining here wasn’t just a meal—it was an experience.
What stood out most was the attention to detail. Every staff member went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable, from the seamless check-in to the thoughtful service throughout our visit. You can genuinely feel the pride they take in providing outstanding hospitality.

TTianjiaThe hotel is very overpriced for an old facility. We booked an oceanview room but the windows are blocked with bars and can barely be opened. Our room on the second floor could barely see the ocean. Furniture and decoration scream OLD.
Most front desk workers are not Japanese. They claim to have an ”international crew” but the problem is they don't know much about Japan. When we asked the doorman about taking trains, he didn't have a crew because he just got to Japan from another Asian country. On the other hand, the restaurants only have Japanese workers and no one speaks English. We booked an 8-course dinner. The chef was going around to explain the dishes to guests but just left us when he found out we don't speak Japanese. The menu is in Japanese only.
This hotel also charged us at 135:1 foreign exchange rate while all other hotels charged 142-144:1 JPY-USD. It's not a foreigner friendly hotel and way overpriced for what it is.

MMeiyaBecause I was traveling alone, I booked a single executive suite. The hotel facilities were relatively old and there were basically no services, but the old-fashioned open-air baths and large public baths had the flavor of the Showa period. I must try the bath on the 7th floor to offset the fatigue of the trip. The most gratifying thing was that the hotel breakfast was very good. The sea bream sashimi and rice were very solid, the butter-fried baguettes were also very soft, and the coffee was very delicious. I suggest you try breakfast if you come. The hotel is within walking distance of the surrounding attractions and restaurants. Although the road to the hotel is more than 1 kilometer, the scenery is great and you can reach it leisurely by walking.

AAmia Devibari was so shocked with the bathroom and toilet, SO NICE AND AO CLEAN!!!!!! even their shampoo and conditioner were so good, i have to ask the host what it were 😂
and it’s like they really think what the guest will need.
the only downside was the bed is obviously used many times now. it squeaks with a little movement.

It was said that the platform was wrong. Because the hotel is remote, there is no restaurant nearby. The convenience store is more than ten kilometers away. If you don't like his private style, I believe you will not consider this hotel. After dinner, I went to the bath. The hot water in the washing area gradually cooled down as I used it, and eventually stopped flowing altogether, so I quickly warmed up in the bathtub. There was no hot water for rinsing off when I got out, which made me quite cold.
In the washing area, another guest asked me, ”There's no hot water, is there? The bath in my room doesn't have hot water either, and when I contacted the front desk, they told me to use the public bath...” So, I wonder if it's a problem with the facilities? Incidentally, my husband, who bathed before dinner, said the men's bath was fine.
