"Clean, quiet hotel in a good location. Staff friendly and knowledgeable. The room was very comfortable. There was both a sauna and a fireplace. Everything worked very well. The breakfast was super good. Special diets were also very well taken into account."

"It was an experience out of the world during our stay here. We arrived early wanting to drop our bags but they allowed us to check in early anyway as our room was ready. The cabin itself was clean and spacious enough for 2 people. The bathroom floor was heated which was nice. We got to even see the northern lights from our bed even though it only lasted for less than a minute. One thing to note is cabins are located quite near to one another and with the glass panels, you don't get total privacy. Make sure to request for a cabin off the stretch of main road to have more privacy. We had breakfast and dinner here. Options were quite limited but understandable given the location. All dishes were labelled clearly, and we had no issues as vegetarians. We even saw some neighbourhood squirrels enjoying their breakfast. The place is very modern and managed commercially as a business, with everything extra requiring extra charges (you may even pay for staff to pick up your bags from your cabin to the main reception, which is a 2-5 min walk affair). Despite this, we think it's still worth trying out for a night to have something that's different."

"This hotel was exactly what we were looking for and we had a very comfortable stay. The amenities were great, and perhaps because it was low season, the price was also very reasonable. The person at the check-in counter was incredibly helpful, explaining everything to us in very clear English, which was great since we don't speak Finnish. The private sauna was also a huge plus; being able to use it whenever and for as long as we wanted was fantastic. We would definitely love to stay here again."

"I stayed at Apukka Resort and it was truly unforgettable. Everything was perfect, from the spotless cleanliness to the peaceful location near the airport. The service was exceptional; they even picked us up by car from the reception and drove us directly to our room, which made everything feel so warm and personal despite the -30°C weather. Sipping hot chocolate in the freezing Arctic air felt surreal, and our private sauna session was incredibly relaxing, the perfect way to end a snowy day. But the most magical moment? Watching the Northern Lights dance right in front of our room. So vivid, so clear, so unreal. It was honestly one of the best experiences of our lives. A dream I will never forget."

"Northern Lights Village in Saariselkä is an absolutely beautiful resort with an atmosphere that truly lives up to its name. During our stay, we were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights every day and almost every night, without needing to go outside for aurora hunting at all. Some nights, the aurora was incredibly strong, with vivid green and even red colors clearly visible. Seeing red aurora was especially rare and felt truly magical. One of the most unforgettable experiences was being able to lie comfortably in bed and watch the Northern Lights through the glass roof, right from the room. It was simply breathtaking and deeply impressive. The staff are friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help, with warm smiles that make guests feel well taken care of. The room is comfortable and thoughtfully designed, with heated floors, which is very nice in extreme winter conditions. On the first night, the room felt quite cold due to a power outage, so we had to sleep wearing warm clothes. On the second night, the temperature was much better and comfortable. Considering that the outside temperature dropped to around -40°C, the room may feel slightly cool at times, but overall it was still comfortable enough to sleep well. Bathroom amenities are mostly complete; however, toothbrushes and razors are not provided, which would be a nice improvement for a resort of this level. Other amenities are well prepared. Overall, Northern Lights Village offers an extraordinary and once-in-a-lifetime experience. Being able to see the Northern Lights so clearly and frequently, right from your bed, makes this place truly special. Highly recommended for anyone who dreams of experiencing the Northern Lights in the most comfortable and unforgettable way."

"The hotel's location is absolutely fantastic, right in the city center. There's a mall and a large supermarket directly across the street, making dining and shopping incredibly convenient. The room is a bit small, but very neat and clean. I highly recommend having breakfast at the hotel; Scandic hotels always have an amazing and delicious breakfast spread!"

"The family room was very nice, but the fifth person was considered an extra bed and slept on a sofa. The hotel ground floor was great for watching the Northern Lights, and we saw them that night. There seemed to be a sauna in the bathroom, but we didn't try it as we didn't know how to use it. The hotel breakfast was an English breakfast, and the hotel entrance offered views of the ski resort."

"There is no toothbrush, toothpaste and slippers, so bring your own. Skiing is quite convenient, and the breakfast is delicious. But the check-in lobby is not easy to find. The navigation guide is uphill, and it is wrong to climb up and then climb down. I have to drag a board bag everywhere to find it... It's a bit tiring"
