"This is a really nice hotel, located right on a food street with tons of dining options and a lively atmosphere. They have a few parking spots, but you need to inform the front desk when you're heading out. A nice perk is that guests get free tickets to the adjacent swimming pool – just remember to bring your swimming cap! The lounge area on the first floor is a thoughtful touch, offering complimentary coffee, tea, and ice. The rooms are quite spacious, featuring a huge TV and comfortable bedding, ensuring a good night's sleep. The bathroom has a separate wet and dry area, though the water pressure for showering was a bit low, possibly due to peak usage. Breakfast was decent, but they didn't offer any made-to-order items. It seems the hotel has a partnership with an electric scooter rental shop, but I didn't quite figure out the details or inquire further. The hotel's proximity to various attractions is great; you can easily walk, bike, or take a taxi. Definitely recommended!"

Tucked away within Sanfang Qixiang Historical and Cultural Block, the hotel occupies a heritage building listed as immovable cultural relic. This 400-year-old Zeng Clan Mansion was the ancestral residence of descendants of Zeng Gong, a towering literary master of the Northern Song Dynasty. The clan fostered generations of outstanding talents; during the Qing Dynasty, four successive direct line kin all passed the imperial jinshi examination, rendering it an unrivaled mansion of imperial scholars across Sanfang Qixiang. Retaining the original courtyard layout of ancient lane dwellings, the compound features a shared central atrium alongside private exclusive yards attached to each guestroom. Every blossom, every tree and every turn unfolds a unique cultural vista. Renovated under the philosophy of sustainable native aesthetics, the ancient courtyard is woven together by the serene charm of guqin melodies. The texture of traditional Min-Yue dwellings, intangible cultural heritage lacquer art and oriental floral aesthetics permeate every spatial detail. Fitted with premium light-luxury furnishings, the property integrates a cultural boutique inn, guqin museum, art gallery, heritage tea salon, Hanfu travel photography experience and elegant literary gatherings, crafting an immersive high-end aesthetic retreat exclusive to urban micro-vacations amid ancient Fuzhou city.

"Excellent customer service, friendly staff that goes above and beyond. Free laundry service at site. Located just in the center of SanFangQiXiang. Love the vibe! Their breakfast is also a highlight, various kinds of local traditional breakfast. We would definitely come back again."

Hotel near The Old Town of Zhangzhou,Zhangzhou
No. 1 of 4-Star Select Hotels in Zhangzhou
"I specifically brought my elderly parents to Zhangzhou Ancient City for a visit this time. Since they have mobility issues and need a wheelchair, I was worried about the inconvenience of travel and accommodation beforehand. I had been communicating with the hotel about various matters before our departure. To my surprise, our entire stay was exceptionally comfortable, and I genuinely give it a full five-star rating! The hotel's location is excellent, situated right in the heart of the ancient city. As soon as you step out, you're on the old streets and alleys, with all sorts of Minnan specialty foods and popular photo spots close by. It was incredibly convenient to explore with a wheelchair. While it was lively and bustling outside, the courtyard was serene and quiet. It's an authentic Minnan ancient house courtyard style, with an elegant and clean environment. The greenery was meticulously maintained, making for a beautiful and healing landscape. What touched me the most was the hotel's thoughtful consideration for guests with mobility challenges. The accessibility features were very well-implemented. The courtyard pathways were flat and smooth, with no steep inclines, making it effortless to push a wheelchair in and out. The corridors were wide and open, allowing for easy and stable passage. When the front desk staff saw us with our elderly parents in a wheelchair, they immediately came over to offer assistance. They were enthusiastic and meticulous throughout, with a warm and polite attitude. During check-in, they prioritized a low-floor room on the first floor for us, avoiding stairs and complex routes, which greatly facilitated the seniors' movement. The room was spacious and airy, spotlessly clean, with soft and clean bedding. The mattress was neither too soft nor too firm, making it exceptionally comfortable for my parents to rest. My family all said they slept very well. The bathroom had a separate wet and dry area, and the floor was anti-slip, with every detail considering the safety of the elderly. The hotel's service was so meticulous it was heartwarming. Knowing my parents had difficulty walking, the staff proactively slowed down their speech, patiently asked about their physical condition, and repeatedly reminded them to be careful on the stone paths in the courtyard. Throughout our stay, any request we had was met with immediate and quick responses. They were very enthusiastic about helping deliver items and assisting my parents. When we returned from outings, they would always proactively offer warm tea, asking if my parents were tired from their journey. Their sincerity and genuineness were truly commendable. After a tiring day of sightseeing, the hotel's natural hot spring, with its comfortable and gentle water temperature, was a great relief. Soaking our feet after returning helped us relax significantly. The breakfast selection was rich yet light, catering to my parents' dietary preferences. The ingredients were fresh and healthy. When the staff heard we had high blood sugar, they specially prepared low-sugar meals for us. From the service details, their warmth was evident in every aspect. I initially thought traveling with elderly parents in a wheelchair would be problematic, but thanks to the comprehensive facilities and warm service at Xiyue Hotel, our entire experience was beautiful, clean, with human-centered facilities and warm, attentive service. Every aspect was impeccable, and it offered excellent value for money."

The room was spotlessly clean, and the zero-pressure mattress and pillows provided an amazing night's sleep. The bathroom has a separate wet and dry area, and all the facilities are smart and well-equipped. The front desk service was incredibly thoughtful, providing local food and travel tips in advance. Plus, you can grab complimentary bug spray and use the self-service laundry and dryer. The breakfast was rich and delicious, and the courtyard and tea room offer comfortable spaces to relax. "We stayed for four nights. The hotel's location is super convenient for getting around. Zhongshan Road is right downstairs, and it's about a ten-minute drive to the ferry terminal, Xiamen University, and Xiamen Station. Getting to Jimei takes about ten to twenty minutes to the subway station, which is totally fine since there are shops all along the way, so the walk flies by. The hotel staff provides excellent service and really focuses on the guest experience, offering helpful tips and reminders to tourists. The cleanliness was impressive. We stayed in a family balcony room, and everything, both inside and out, was spotless – the tables and chairs were very clean. The sink and bathroom had no hidden dirty spots, and all the nooks and crannies were sparkling white. We were very happy with this. Our child absolutely loved it here and said they'd choose this hotel again if we come back."

EElizabeth Frances RoseThis place makes me wish there was an option for six stars. I study Asian art for a living, and I travelled to Jianyang to visit the home of Jian ware, classic tea bowls of the Song dynasty (960 to 1279 CE), distinguished by their black and brown glazes. Over the last few decades, firing Jian ware in the Song tradition has been revived in the area. I chose Nanping Colourful Village Homestay because it was in Jianyang, affordable, and accepted international guests. What I found was a luxury resort with all the warmth and personal attention of a homestay. I asked the front desk about an excavated Song kiln site in a nearby village, and the receptionist brought me the manager, who arranged for someone to take me the next day. My driver was Ms. Huang, an employee of the resort whose job involves buying and selling contemporary pieces. She knew everything about Jian ware! The kiln site isn’t run as a tourist site, so I was only able to view it because Ms. Huang arranged for it to be opened for me. I had told them I was vegetarian, so for lunch they took me to lunch at a vegetarian buffet. Then we visited the town’s Jian ware museum, where they have exhibits on the history of tea and Jian ware, historical pieces, and the work of contemporary Jianyang potters. To my delight, Mr. Gao, the potter-in-residence at the resort, uses a Song-style wood-fired dragon kiln, built right on the grounds! His pieces that range from beautiful but quite affordable to exquisite and appropriately expensive. They include both iridescent silvery oil spot and orange-to-black hare’s fur pieces. I am still thrilled that I was able to purchase wood-fired pieces on my limited budget. For dinner, the resort’s restaurant prepared vegetarian versions of Fujian cuisine for me. The food was all delicious, featuring classic Fujianese mountain ingredients like local bamboo and mushrooms. Then we visited Mr. Gao’s dragon kiln, and later his studio, where he experiments with different local clays and glaze recipes. The rich colours and iridescence of Jian ware are the result of the iron-rich local material fired at high temperature, and the results are as unpredictable as they are beautiful. The next day, they drove me to Mr. Chen’s family tea plantation in the mountains, where they grow famous northern Fujian teas. These fine teas were all wonderful, smooth and rich with a touch of smoke, and sometimes fruity in flavour. We strolled through mountainsides of tea bushes and visited groves of centuries-old tea trees. This is a perfect place for an immersive experience in China that is also very comfortable and convenient. I often find tourist experiences in China claustrophobic due to the press of people, but the resort was spacious and airy, and they took me to places where there was no one else but us and the occasional local going about their business. Everyone was very patient with my limited Chinese language skills. They were also happy to work with translator apps on our phones, so if you don’t speak any Chinese, you will be fine. This would be a great place to come as a family. There are gardens and rides for kids right next to the resort. You can learn how to whip Song-style tea and carve your name into the base of your own Jian ware cup. Not far away is a historical theme park with a collection of real architecture from the Ming (1368 to 1644 CE) and Qing (1636 to 1912 CE) dynasties. The employees wear period dress and there are performances and activities. Nearby there are hiking trails, historical sites, and lovely villages to visit. It’s also very close to Wuyi Mountain National Park, so it would be a perfect place to stay if the mountains are your destination. If you ask, they could arrange for you to visit famous sites or take you to breathtaking places that only locals know, whatever you want. They can also arrange transport to and from the train station or airport.

GGuest UserFound a gem for our family trip to Xiamen! The Weishang Garden Hotel's family room is simply divine. It's in a prime location on Zhongshan Road, with a charming Nanyang retro vibe. Stepping out, you're surrounded by street food and shopping districts. It's super close to the ferry terminal and the Bashi market, saving us a lot of travel time. The room is incredibly spacious, bursting with a playful, child-friendly atmosphere. My kids instantly fell in love with the bunk bed with a slide, and the safety rails gave us parents peace of mind. There were dolls, building blocks, and a small tent – enough to keep the little ones entertained for half the day, meaning we didn't have to keep an eye on them constantly. The room also features a private little balcony, and the faint scent of tea in the corridor made us feel instantly relaxed upon entering. The entire room is equipped with smart devices, and the toiletries were clean and high-quality. The bathroom has a separate wet and dry area, and the floor is covered with soft mats, so we didn't have to worry about the kids bumping themselves while running barefoot. Robot delivery is available 24/7, and the concierge was incredibly responsive to our requests. The bedding was soft, ensuring a comfortable night's sleep. It's spacious and comfortable enough for a family of three or even families with two children. Our kids were already asking to come back next time we left. This is definitely our top choice for family accommodation!

CChek Chin LiungMy recent stay at the Kulangsi Resort in Xiamen was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, it was clear this was a special place dedicated to providing a tranquil and luxurious getaway. Wonderful Environment: The resort is beautifully situated, offering a perfect blend of lush, manicured gardens and serene landscapes. It feels like a hidden oasis away from the city's hustle and bustle, yet it remains conveniently located. The views are stunning, and the overall atmosphere is one of peace and relaxation. It's an ideal spot for both couples and families looking to unwind. Excellent Hotel Facilities: The facilities are top-notch. Our room was spacious, impeccably clean, and featured a modern design with all the amenities one could ask for. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a great night's sleep. Beyond the room, the swimming pool was a delight, and the fitness center was well-equipped. Every corner of the resort is maintained to a very high standard. Standout Service from 小陈 (Xiao Chen): While every staff member we encountered was professional and friendly, one individual truly made our stay unforgettable: a gentleman named 小陈 (Xiao Chen). His service was, without exaggeration, world-class. He was incredibly thoughtful and anticipatory, always seeming to know what we needed before we even asked. From offering insightful local tips to ensuring every small detail of our room was perfect, his attention to care was remarkable. He embodies the true spirit of hospitality and is a tremendous asset to the Kulangsi Resort. Verdict: I wholeheartedly recommend the Kulangsi Resort. The beautiful environment and excellent facilities provide the perfect backdrop, but it's the outstanding service from people like Xiao Chen that transforms a great stay into a truly memorable one. We will definitely be returning.

SshoresamThe hotel's location is pretty good; you can walk to Sanfang Qixiang, and it's even closer to Daming Food Street and Dongbai Center. All the front desk staff are male, some look quite young and inexperienced, and some wear different uniforms. Jinjiang Metropolo's standard design is good, but this particular branch is not well-maintained. Both inside and outside the hotel are under renovation, which makes the environment quite concerning.

AAnonymous UserI usually do not choose homestay when other modes are available. However in Yunshuiyao homestay is the only choice. Given that 1949 has to preserve the local architecture do not expect 5 star hotel facilities. For all the constraints of a ”min su” the staff do go the distance to ensure they meet the demands of guests. I checked out a happy guest and will recommend 1949 to other travelers.
