"Be ready for loud music and vibrations from nearby night club until midnight. Be ready for 7 a.m. church bells from nearby church. Hotel provides earplugs. But poor quality. Take your own earplugs. Shower is spacious. Mattress and pillows are uncomfortable. Capsule coffee machine and basic kitchenette in room. Overall our one night stay before cruise was good."

The rooftop restaurant offers a stunning, close-up view of the Acropolis – it's breathtaking! It's just a few hundred meters to the Old Town and only 600 meters to the commercial district, making it incredibly convenient."

"This is definately not a 5 star hotel. I can’t understand how it’s been given that ranking. The room was definitely not the same as the picture. The carpet in the room was old and faded. The decor looked like it was from when it was first built or updated, at least 30+ years ago. The bathroom in the executive room was worse than Butlins basic accommodation in the U.K., and that’s saying something. The yellow sofa in the grand reception area was tired and dirty. I definitely would never stay there again or recommend to anybody. The majority of the staff were unfriendly. The waiters in the dining room never even looked at you. We had to go to them to request tea and coffee with our breakfast and it seemed like it was too much trouble for them. We stayed in the hotel as part of a fully inclusive cruise booking. The cruise company Iglu cruises must have got a really good deal with them. The hotel was full of people on fully inclusive deals. Definitely not five star. More like 2 star in my opinion."

"The hotel is an overall nice hotel in a very nice area, surrounded by quite a few good restaurants. The staff is amazing and always ready to help. However, the rooms have pretty old furniture, almost zero electricity plugs in the room (and the one next to my bed stopped working the second day).Ii would recommend putting a normal hairdryer in every room instead of the old wall-hairdryer that's in the bathroom, it is inconvenient to use (gets very hot) and it is very slow. "

"Our entire trip to Athens was spent at the A for Athens Hotel, and the overall experience far exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Athens! The hotel boasts a prime location in the heart of the Old Town, just a 3-minute walk to Monastiraki Square, and a mere ten-minute stroll to the Acropolis and Plaka Old Town. Metro stations, local eateries, and affordable supermarkets are abundant nearby, making both getting around and dining incredibly convenient. The hotel's biggest highlight is its rooftop terrace bar, offering an unobstructed panoramic view of both the Acropolis and Mount Lycabettus. Coming up for a drink at sunset truly sets a fantastic mood, and it's an excellent spot for photos. Room cleaning is meticulous and thorough daily; the floors and bathrooms are spotless, and the air conditioning, hot water, and high-speed Wi-Fi are stable all day. The bed is soft, ensuring a great night's sleep. The 24-hour front desk staff are warm and friendly; they proactively offer city maps, patiently explain sightseeing routes, and even provide free luggage storage for large items. Breakfast is an authentic Greek buffet, featuring a wide variety of cheeses, olives, handmade pies, freshly ground coffee, and fresh fruit – enough to fuel a full day of walking tours. The only minor drawback is that the building is older, and the elevator is a bit small, but this in no way detracts from the overall guest experience. Balancing location, service, and views, this hotel offers exceptional value for money in central Athens. I would definitely rebook here on my next trip to Athens, Greece!"

"The hotel reception is spacious by Europe standards. Checkin was seamless however we had to pay for taxes at the time of checkin. Took a little while to work out the lift as the doors don’t open automatically. You had to manually open the front door to get into a reasonable small lift that catered for 2 people and 2 luggage. It reminded me of an old school type lifts seen in movies. Rather cool. Rooms looked newly renovated and modern. Pod Coffee machine with illy pods, desk, a single chair and a wall hung tv. With this said, we had a room facing the road and whether the windows didn’t close properly or the windows were very thin with no sound proofing, but the noise from the road was bad. We were on the 5th floor and every car that went by, we heard. The heavier vehicles were worse. Does not work especially if you are a light sleeper. Breakfast was average with comparison to many other hotels around the world however I would say quite sufficient by European standards. Precooked eggs, scrambled, boiled and sunny side up, basic cereal and fruit selection and bakery was a bit dry. Omelette made on order. Staff in restaurant were excellent and extremely helpful. Location was excellent for this hotel as it was walking distance from buses and train, restaurants and some markets. Communications with its reservations team was shocking. Even after 6 emails with regard to a future booking, I did not get a single reply. Eventually met the hotel manager and had the issue resolved so a big thanks to Ms. Maria. Overall, comfortable apart from the road noise. Would I book again, will not be my default hotel so I may be looking at other hotels but would not rule it out completely."

"The hotel has complete facilities and beautiful environment. It is close to the sea. It was windy and cold in Athens these two days, so I couldn't go to the beach. It's a pity. I will stay here in the summer."
