5-Star Hotels in Ningxia, China

The Kempinski Hotel Yinchuan truly lives up to its five-star reputation. The rooms are spacious and bright, with excellent amenities, and the separate wet and dry areas in the bathroom are very convenient. The toiletries, bath towels, and hand towels were all impeccably clean, and the large bath towels were especially comfortable. The lobby is quite grand and impressive. The staff were all very welcoming, especially the gentleman at the front desk who checked me in. He was patient, thorough, and attentive. Since I'm older and have trouble sleeping, I requested a quiet room, and the staff member, whose name tag read 'Qiao,' arranged it perfectly for me. The baggage handlers in the lobby were also very friendly. The Kempinski's management is quite generous; I came back late one night and realized I'd forgotten to buy water, and the front desk immediately arranged for four bottles to be sent to my room. I'm truly grateful for that. The breakfast selection was also quite rich.

Tengol really brought my desert fantasies to life, it felt like something out of One Thousand and One Nights! The facilities are top-notch; the rammed-earth architecture creates an incredible atmosphere. There's some room for improvement on the service side, though. The front desk area is too small – it gets really cramped with just a few people, and with only two check-in stations, efficiency is a bit low. Plus, every available space is piled with luggage, which looks messy and isn't very aesthetic. The breakfast was excellent and diverse, featuring local specialties like freshly prepared 'saunzi' noodles, sand onion bread, and camel milk. The complimentary dune buggy ride was fantastic – super thrilling and a lot of fun!

The shower pressure was fantastic, and the toiletries were a British brand with a lovely, natural scent. The bedding was super comfortable, ensuring a restful sleep. They even provided a capsule coffee machine with coffee capsules. The complimentary shoe-shining service was a thoughtful touch, and the in-room internet was fast and reliable. Secondly, the breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of high-quality dishes. The Western pastry selection, especially the flaky croissants, was authentic and delicious. The live cooking stations for Eggs Benedict and egg white rolls are features you typically only find in top-tier five-star hotels. They also had freshly squeezed watermelon juice and rich, high-quality coffee. What really impressed me were the local Ningxia specialties in the Chinese section, such as Jinsi Sanzi, Tangmaya, Tangmaye, fried pastries, and mung bean cakes. The chef even enthusiastically introduced these local delicacies to me. And of course, there were other Ningxia specialties like lamb soup, lamb pies, beef buns, and goji berry yogurt—I was extremely satisfied. Finally, all the hotel staff provided excellent service, especially the housekeeping attendant on the day I checked in. This lady deserves special commendation for her thoughtful and warm service. The front desk even accommodated my request to keep a room key card, specially giving me a pristine commemorative card. Additionally, the hotel is conveniently located near the Ningxia Museum. The JW Marriott Hotel Yinchuan left a wonderful impression on me. Yinchuan truly is a beautiful and friendly city.

The service was very welcoming, and the hotel's decor was quite stylish and beautiful. However, some of the in-room dining dishes didn't quite match the pictures. After the food arrived, I had to make two calls, which might be due to a lack of timely communication between the housekeeping and dining departments. Overall, it was a good experience, and I would consider booking again.

The room was spotlessly clean, the bedding was soft and comfortable, and all the toiletries were well-stocked. Hot water supply was stable, and the soundproofing was excellent, ensuring a completely undisturbed night's rest. The facilities were comprehensive, the hallways were clean and odorless, and the cleaning staff were very attentive. Overall, it offers great value for money. The environment is quiet and elegant, and the service is meticulous and thoughtful, making it perfect for both short trips and longer stays. I'll definitely choose this hotel again when I'm back in the area, and I highly recommend it to friends visiting – it's a trustworthy choice!

Finally, I understand what the travel guides mean: if you haven't stayed at the Star Hotel, you haven't truly experienced Shapotou! The environment, dining, and service are simply exceptional. We stayed in Zone A and even saw fireworks at night 🎆. What's most commendable is the hotel's parent-child science education. We unfortunately missed the stargazing due to cloudy weather, but the desert hike the next morning was a pleasant surprise! Teachers Wendy and Xiaomei, who led the hike, were professional and thorough in their explanations. Even our four-year-old kept up perfectly, learning about many desert plants and spotting a little lizard 🦎 with them. It not only built our child's resilience but also fostered an appreciation and awareness for protecting nature, making our desert trip truly meaningful. Our brief interactions left us with wonderful memories, and we hope the Star Hotel continues to thrive.

Our first night was in a capsule room, which was quite spacious and comfortable for adults, and the kids really enjoyed it. For the second and third nights, we moved to a different room. Half of the curtains didn't block out light, the toilet constantly ran 24/7, and the shower would suddenly turn completely cold every three minutes or so. It was really terrible; it might just be a hardware issue with that particular room.

The hotel is located in the Xingqing business area. It is very convenient to travel to Xixia Wangling Mausoleum and Helan Mountain. Free parking by car is especially worry-free. The lobby is simple and modern and integrates local details, and the environment is clean and atmospheric. The rooms are light and transparent, and the hygiene is meticulous. The standard Four Points comfort mattress (Slin Bailan) is moderately soft and hard, sleeps comfortably, and the blackout curtains have excellent sound insulation. The buffet breakfast is rich in variety, taking into account the northwest specialty snacks and Western-style light meals, and the taste is online. The 24-hour gym and free self-service laundry room are too friendly to the party on business trips. You can go to the beer restaurant to have a drink in your leisure time. The front desk service is patient and meticulous, and the check-out is delayed until 14:00. The whole process is comfortable and business.

The room size is exactly the 40 square meters advertised online, which was perfectly adequate for a family of three. There's a small sofa, which the kids really love. What I love most is that it's not fully carpeted; only around the bed, the floor is otherwise, which makes it feel very clean. The service at this hotel is also a key factor that compels me to review it. I arranged a pick-up at the station two days before check-in, and the driver called me half an hour before arrival. The driver was a woman, but she was very steady and had excellent driving skills [strong]. The front desk staff was very friendly and proactive in checking us in. Later, when we were leaving, we had to check out later due to our schedule, and the lady was very helpful in extending our stay for free. Overall, this stay was a truly amazing experience!
