Family Hotels in Evora District, Portugal

"We were put in the annexe part of the hotel, slightly depressing accommodation, dirty carpets, damp & bit smelly. Staff are nice but property needs total upgrade. I can't comment about the actual hotel only the annexe part"

"- The rooms are spacious and beautiful, and the common areas are well-decorated. - The toiletries smell wonderful. - The pool is warm and comfortable. - The breakfast is marvelous, as is the option to have the fireplace lit. - Upon arrival, we received fruit, water, sweets, and a bottle of their own-produced wine. However, for a 5-star hotel with the prices they charge, there are some things that urgently need improvement: - **Cleanliness:** Very visible cobwebs in the corners of the rooms, behind the beds, on the stairs leading to the spa, on the pool ceiling, etc. - **Lack of Trash Cans:** We stayed in a 3-bedroom villa, and there was only one small trash can in each bathroom. There aren't many trash cans around the property either. - **Bathroom:** There's no place to hang towels. The bathtub has a handheld shower with a 1-meter hose, which isn't long enough to shower standing up; we had to use the overhead shower. We also couldn't take a bath because the drain stopper wouldn't close. - **Minibar:** The mini-fridge barely cooled anything and had a foul, very unpleasant smell that quickly spread throughout the room. Additionally, there are some hotel policies that, in my opinion, could be changed: - **Room Service Menu:** The room service menu is very limited in options, and the available choices are quite complex. There isn't, for example, a simple toasted sandwich or anything similar. - **Indoor Pool:** The indoor pool is restricted to children under 14, with the exception of the winter season from 9 AM to 11 AM and 7 PM to 9 PM. These hours seem designed to discourage children and their parents from using the pool. - **Lighting in Villas:** The lighting in the villa living areas is practically nonexistent (one lamp and one reading lamp, both with yellow light). The hotel's policy is to have low lighting, but it ends up being uncomfortable when you can't even read a book after dark."

"This hotel is located on a road outside the ancient city gate of the World Cultural Heritage. You can walk to the ancient city to visit the attractions. The hotel has standard suites and service facilities, as well as an outdoor swimming pool. We can enjoy the slow-paced tour freely and it is convenient to travel by car."

"Had a wonderful stay at the Convento de Arraiolos, even if a slightly eventful. Arriving late at night, we found the reception empty and had to wander though the hotel grounds - which are not small - searching for someone to talk to. Eventually we found the restaurant and a member of staff sent word to the receptionist. I couldn't help but wonder if we weren't interrupting the young lady's dinnertime... She was very apologetic for the absence, and even told us to use the internal pool and sauna, even though it was already well beyond operating hours. Both pools are excellent, and the sauna soothing after a very long day. The bed was super comfortable and breakfast quite good - don't miss the local cheeses and bread! Even though the hotel seemed to be running quite short staffed - which may account for the fact we found uncollected trash in the bathroom bin - the staff were impeccable and highly professional. Moreover, the tennis court is in a state of disarray, the pavement sure looks in need of a makeover. All in all definitely recommended for a wonderful stay and relaxation, just some management decisions seem baffling, at a place run by a brand of such reputation as the Pestana group."

"very beautiful hotel, very comfortable and welcoming room. friendly and helpful staff. varied and high quality breakfast."

"For what you promise (specially designed for sleep and rest) it does not meet. The air conditioning is too noisy and the fact that the bathroom fan is scheduled by the hotel and we cannot turn off, makes it uncomfortable to be in the room during the operating hours due to noise."

"What price corresponds to what quality. Don't be too demanding and live comfortably"

"The approach to the hotel is uninspiring which makes your arrival in a modern manicured property all the more surprising. The hotel is well thought out, set up for a very chilled out time and service and facilities are excellent. We did not give a full 5 for one reason which for some could be a blocker. This hotel is very popular with young families, for very good reasons but if you want a quiet retreat keep this in mind If on the other hand you have young children it is a great place."

"The same Pousada series, this is an old castle. It is also very flavorful. For breakfast, you must try the famous local Iberico sausage. The tower opposite the front desk must be climbed to see the panoramic view of the small town. The restaurant next door, the venue used to be a prison, the environment is very flavorful, the dishes are very delicious, I even had two dinners"

"Boas instalações e muito atenciosos no atendimento. Espaços bem cuidados e limpos. Cama confortável. Vale a pena!"
