Family Hotels in Tuscany, Italy

"The hotel was nice and Tidy as you'd expect from a five star hotel. Breakfast was great and staff helpful. What I found strange was that you had to pay to use the spa (use of sauna etc.) With hefty price tag of €70 PP on Friday. My mattress was knackered springs broken and one side virtually collapsed. The bathroom door was taty with bits peeling off. Admittedly, I couldn't be bothered to complain and get my room changed after unpacking our stuff and noticing the state of mattress late at night. And parking was €18 per night, which I didn't notice of any mention of their website or Trip.com. They charged me for 2 instead 3 when I mentioned the mattress before checking out. To be honest there has to be some level checking the condition of the beds by the supervisor. The pool on the roof was very small, not worth bothering with except if want to sit beside it for suntanning. I didn'tnotice any offer of drinks or food at the pool. I gave service a four star only because we asked for couple of things to the room which didn't happen."

"clean and pretty hostel! service was also amazing. bed was comfortable. room was spacious. has water purifyer and vending machine (fair priced). also, all the hostel rooms are in the same flior so you don't have to wait for elevator forever. the only thing is the location. it's far from center. you have to take bus but the bus is only 3-4 times an hour and usually get delayed or even cancelled."

"The hotel is very close to the train station, about 5 minutes, Conad supermarket is very close, walk to the morning 100 flowers for 6 minutes, all attractions are very convenient, walking distance. The hotel classic room is 20 square meters, but the shower in the bathroom is very small and cramped. More than 1300 nights are high, cost-effective, and the location is good."

"The hotel's overall environment is excellent, and the location is superb. There's a bus stop right outside, and it's just a 10-minute walk to the central train station, or two bus stops away, which is incredibly convenient. The staff are attentive and enthusiastic. The rooftop offers fantastic panoramic city views. The room size is quite small, and the price is relatively high."

"The hotel environment is great, the restaurant is delicious, and the staff are very welcoming. There was a small blood stain on the duvet cover, though. The hotel is a bit far from the Old Town scenic area, and you need to transfer to a public bus after getting off the hotel shuttle. However, the public buses in Florence are truly awful."

"I rarely encounter discrimination, but this hotel treated Chinese guests differently. I'm posting this to warn others. I arrived at the front desk at 11 AM, and an old, limping white man served me. He was very rude, but I'm not easily offended and just thought his English wasn't great. He told me to come back at 3:30 PM for check-in, which I didn't think much of since I was going to the art museum anyway. I returned at 5 PM to pick up my luggage and go to my room. The bellhop only handed us the bags and didn't help us take them to the room. Again, I didn't think much of it and just carried them myself. When the elevator reached the second floor, I realized there was still a short flight of stairs. Once in the room, I found it dark and damp. I figured maybe old European buildings were like that, so I opened the window to air it out. Then I noticed the bathroom fan wasn't working, so I called. A worker came to check and said none of the fans were in use. I asked if other rooms were as damp, and the worker said no, and suggested I ask to change rooms. I contacted the front desk, but they said there were no other rooms available. It was my second day in Europe, and I was so jet-lagged and tired that I just wanted to lie down. That's when I discovered the bed was so damp I could wring water out of it, and the nightstands were covered in dust. It was clear this room hadn't been occupied for a long time. I contacted Trip.com and the front desk again, and both told me the hotel was fully booked. Trip.com then contacted their agent. Later, a lady from the front desk called me, still with the official line that there were no rooms. I asked her why we were given such a terrible room when we checked in that morning, and if it was because we were Asian. She immediately fell silent, then asked 'pardon.' I repeated my question, and she instantly said she could switch our room. I asked when, and she said 'immediately.' We were moved to a room across the hall on the third floor, the same room type, but it was bright and dry. At first, I hadn't realized it was discrimination, but this confirmed it. I've already advised Trip.com to remove this hotel to prevent other Chinese travelers from being mistreated. If my English hadn't been good, they would have definitely taken advantage of me."

"It's about a 15-minute drive from Florence. Free parking is available, so you can park and take the bus into the city. The shuttle bus costs 4 euros round trip, and the first one leaves at 10:00 AM. The bus stop is about a 15-minute walk away, and the walk is along a pleasant country road, making it a great stroll. However, it might be too dark to walk by bus at night. The facilities are clean, the hot water is good, and there's ample parking. There's also a large supermarket nearby (within a 10-minute drive), which is convenient. I'm very satisfied with the price."
