"Amazing hotel. Good service and friendly staff members. Nice king bed and we had an extra sofa bed which is a bonus, it was set-up for free for us as my partner sleep snoring very loudly. The location is great and easy to find. The downgrade was the parking, there was no free parking as we had to pay $20 per 24hr. So we had to spent $60 just for parking, its ridiculous expensive. The hotel should've provide it free parking. But other than that the stayed was amazing. Had a great restaurant by the wharf and the food is amazing and bonus with an amazing views."

"Best stay in our trip. The room was cosy and complete with microwave and fridge. Central heating so room was comfortable. We arrived on a rainy evening and not eager to venture out for dinner. The host had stock of frozen dinner packs that we could buy to reheat. He even cooked rice for us. Great dining area. We even made latte using their coffee machine. Lovely time spent chatting with the host like meeting an old friend. The morning feeding of sheep and alpacas made this stay extra personal. Highly recommended."

"I booked a Select Suite and noted my requests in the email. Although I didn't get a first-row room, 708 still offered a good view, and overall I was very satisfied. The environment is beautiful, and it's about 500 meters from the 'Lonely Tree'. I had dinner and breakfast at the restaurant, and the value for money was good; the breakfast scones are highly recommended! A few minor drawbacks: Firstly, the kitchen range hood was very poor; the smell lingered after frying steak. Secondly, it's a bit far from the town, about 2 kilometers, which takes 30-40 minutes to walk. Thirdly, heating primarily relied on electric heaters and air conditioning, making it a bit dry, and the bathroom was quite cold."

When I checked in, there was no one at the front desk, so the key was left in an envelope with three candies. My booking didn't include breakfast, but they thoughtfully provided a banana and some cereal. It was a good experience."

"Great location with clean and comfortable rooms. The car park are conveniently located right in front of the rooms, which was perfect for our road trip as we were traveling with an MPV. It made loading, unloading, and moving between the vehicles and our room so easy. Overall, we had a great stay, and the surrounding views were beautiful too!"

"The Ebb Dunedin is an architectural gem with beautiful art, comfortable rooms, and incredible attention to detail. Our experience however, was an overpriced hotel (500+ per night) for the service received. We arrived just 30 minutes before the 3:00 PM check-in, and despite our room being ready, we were referred to the mall across the street when we asked to use the toilet. For this price, being sent to a public shopping center is unacceptable. The parking was also an additional 25 per night, on top of the steep room fee. You’re paying for the aesthetic here, but certainly not for the hospitality unfortunately."

It's also a convenient drive to the Blue Penguin Colony, making its location ideal. The hotel is a converted historic building, retaining a strong vintage feel while offering modern amenities. The room was clean and tidy, with unique and stylish decor. The bed was comfortable, and it was very quiet at night, allowing for a good night's rest. The staff were warm and friendly, and the check-in process was quick and smooth. They were also happy to provide local travel information. The common areas have an artistic ambiance, offering a distinct experience compared to typical chain hotels. Overall, I was satisfied with the location, environment, and service. It's a highly recommended accommodation choice for anyone visiting Oamaru. If I have the chance to revisit Oamaru, I would definitely stay here again."
