"Facilities: The hotel entrance is grand, and there's a lobby boy to help with luggage. The public areas have two swimming pools: an irregularly shaped children's pool and a 25-meter, 1.2-meter-deep outdoor rectangular pool, which is open until 7 PM. Foreign guests are advised to wear tops for men and dress modestly for women to respect local customs. Restaurant: The hotel's breakfast restaurant also offers dinner, which is good value for money, and the food is delicious. Location: The hotel is about 1 km from the airport, a 20-minute walk. If you have luggage, the road isn't very smooth, so taking a car is recommended. To Redang Island: It's suitable as a transit point for Redang Island. A taxi from here to TTI Jetty isn't expensive, the journey is smooth, and you'll arrive on time. It feels like the price from TTI Jetty to Chinatown is more expensive than to here, and Chinatown is more run-down, with poorer accommodation conditions than this hotel. Hygiene: Good hygiene. Environment: Good environment, spacious rooms. Service: Staff are enthusiastic."

Providing free WiFi, The Langit Duyong Marina Resort is located in Kuala Terengganu, 5 miles from State Museum of Terengganu and 6.3 miles from Crystal Mosque. At the resort, all rooms come with a closet. Complete with a private bathroom equipped with a bidet and free toiletries, all guest rooms at The Langit Duyong Marina Resort have a TV and air conditioning, and all rooms here will provide you with a balcony. The rooms will provide guests with a fridge. Terengganu Craft Cultural Centre is 3.8 miles from the accommodation, while Chinatown is 4.3 miles away. Sultan Mahmud Airport is 5.6 miles from the property.

"I recently stayed at Langit Duyong Hotel, Terengganu for 2 nights. First of all, I would like to say that the ambience, location, and overall scenery were truly beautiful. The view was one of the main highlights of my stay. The peaceful waterfront setting and natural surroundings created a relaxing atmosphere, especially during sunrise and sunset. The property has great potential and offers a unique experience compared to typical hotels. Unfortunately, my experience was significantly affected by several issues. The biggest disappointment was the cleanliness of the room. Upon check-in, the room was not cleaned to an acceptable standard, and I had to contact housekeeping to perform a second round of cleaning. While the housekeeping team responded, guests should not have to request additional cleaning upon arrival. Cleanliness is a basic expectation for any accommodation. Another concern was the maintenance of the surrounding area. The grass around the property was quite long and appeared untrimmed. As a guest, this raised concerns about the possibility of snakes, insects, or other animals entering the vicinity of the rooms. Regular landscaping and maintenance would greatly improve both safety and the overall appearance of the property. The most frustrating issue, however, was the ongoing renovation work at the neighbouring unit/building. There was significant construction noise starting early in the morning during both days of my stay. What made this more disappointing was that guests were not informed beforehand about the renovation activities. Had I known in advance, I could have managed my expectations or made a different booking decision. Transparency regarding major renovation works is important, especially for guests who choose this property expecting a peaceful and relaxing getaway. Overall, I genuinely enjoyed the beautiful view, strategic location, and unique atmosphere of the hotel. However, the cleanliness issues, lack of landscape maintenance, and unannounced renovation noise greatly affected the experience. I left feeling both impressed by the property’s potential and disappointed by the management’s attention to guest comfort. I sincerely hope management takes these concerns seriously, as with better maintenance, communication, and housekeeping standards, this could be a truly exceptional place to stay in Terengganu."

"Things i enjoyed: Clean beach, large pools with playgrounds, friendly staffs. Pools have lifeguards on duty. Huge lobby. Kids fun club is okay. Just that the inflatable playground wasn't very sturdy. Cons: Lack of activities, hallway a big dark at night. One of thhings i wished to do here is atv ride and get a spa massage. But the atv is no longer available. The spas are no longer open. A bit sad. The place have a lot of potential. Went to turtoise information center but no one there. A security staff told us to go to reception for more info but just didn't have enough time to. The place is huge. Food is a bit pricey but i guess its okay for 4 or 5 stars hotel. "This is the perfect place to stay before heading to the Perhentian Islands. The Kuala Besut Jetty is right in front of the hotel, and the Marriott ferry operates directly from here. The Assistant Manager, Nurfaruq Akamal Hanafiah, went above and beyond to resolve an issue we encountered. It was a minor hiccup caused by a slight miscommunication, but instead of brushing it off, he took the time to investigate thoroughly, explain the situation, and dedicate a significant amount of effort to finding a solution and compensation. Despite how busy the hotel must have been with so many guests, we felt as though we were receiving highly personalized service. My entire family praised his exceptional professionalism as a hotelier. Every time we visit, we are reminded of how genuinely kind and professional the staff are at both the Fairfield and Marriott Perhentian hotels. Furthermore, the restaurant manager at Marriott Perhentian happened to spot my son and me at the dining venue and remembered us from our visit a year ago. We had a wonderfully warm and friendly chat. It is truly thanks to the staff who welcome us like family every year that we keep deciding to return. We eagerly look forward to seeing everyone again next year!"

"The facilities show that the hotel is quite old, which is evident from the wooden doors and furniture. It's roughly equivalent to a 3-star hotel in China. Hygiene: It was just okay, as there were still black marks on the sheets that hadn't been washed off. The restaurant serves Muslim-style food. People from China might not be used to it. You could try eating in the nearby Chinatown instead. Service: Excellent! In the morning, we were taking too long to get a Grab, so we asked a staff member to call a taxi for us. They immediately found a taxi that arrived in five minutes. Many thanks!"

Our stay at Marriott Perhentian exceeded every expectation once again. This was our third visit in less than 12 months, and each time the experience has been even better than the last. , with crystal-clear water, pristine beaches, multiple swimming pools and incredible views in every direction. The resort itself is beautifully designed, perfectly blending luxury with the natural beauty of the island. What truly makes this place exceptional is its people. Every single staff member we encountered went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and genuinely cared for. Their kindness, attention to detail, and willingness to help at every opportunity made all the difference. Special thanks to Faizal and zafirah our host. The rooms were immaculate, spacious, and extremely comfortable. The food was consistently excellent, offering great variety and outstanding quality. With 3 restaurant to chose from, Sekoci for fine dining and day time pizzas and quick bites, Dapur for breakfast and dinner with wide selection of delicious local and international food. A special thank you to the entire Marriott Perhentian team for creating such memorable experiences. It is rare to find a place where every aspect of hospitality is delivered with such passion, consistency, and genuine care. Without hesitation, I would highly recommend Marriott Perhentian to anyone looking for an exceptional island getaway. Returning three times in less than a year speaks for itself, and we are already looking forward to our next visit.

A Resort with Great Potential, but a Very Disappointing Stay Peridot has one of the nicest, quietest, and most beautiful stretches of sandy beach in Redang. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives ended for us. The resort has tremendous potential, but it is let down by poor maintenance, limited food choices, and pricing that simply doesn’t match the overall experience. Our biggest disappointment was the villa. Despite paying over RM1,000 per night, the spacious villa was fitted with only a single 1.5HP air-conditioner. The room was unbearably hot throughout our stay. We had no choice but to drag our beds directly in front of the air-conditioner just to get some sleep. We made repeated complaints over three nights, but unfortunately nothing could be done. On our first day alone, we had to request repairs for the leaking bidet, faulty shower head, rain shower, and several other maintenance issues. While the staff responded promptly and were always polite, there is only so much they can do. The underlying problem lies with the overall management and upkeep of the property. Even the reception aircond is leaking 🫣 The swimming pool also deserves immediate attention. It is widely known among visitors staying at other resorts in Redang that Peridot’s pool is often dirty and murky. Ironically, the seawater at the beach looked much cleaner than the pool itself. The restaurant was another letdown. The menu was very limited, yet prices were among the highest on the island. Even the breakfast selection was disappointing and did not reflect the premium rates charged by the resort. What surprised us most was that many neighbouring resorts, despite having beaches that are not as beautiful as this one, felt much more vibrant, lively, and better maintained. After travelling to many countries around the world, it is genuinely disappointing that one of our most memorable negative hotel experiences happened in our own country. I sincerely hope someone from the company reads this review. This resort has enormous potential but requires significant investment in maintenance, facilities, food quality, and overall guest experience. More importantly, it needs an experienced hotel manager who can revive and properly manage what could easily become one of Redang’s best resorts. Malaysia is well known for its hospitality. Please don’t let such a beautiful property tarnish that reputation. With the right management and commitment to improvement, this resort could truly become something exceptional.

Facilities: The hotel entrance is grand, and there's a lobby boy to help with luggage. Service: Staff are enthusiastic.

This is our second time staying at this hotel, and we generally love everything, with only minor drawbacks. It's definitely worth splurging on the higher-category rooms and avoiding the standard ones. The location is super convenient; on one side, you have the island's best beach, and on the other, Barath Cafe, which became our go-to spot for meals. The only downsides were a noisy air conditioner and occasionally weak water pressure, but I think that's a common issue on islands. Otherwise, everything was great. The room had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

We initially had a frustrating experience as our towels were delivered quite late. However, the situation was handled professionally by Manager Iza, who personally delivered the towels to our room and sincerely apologized for the delay. Her prompt action and attention to guests made a positive difference. Overall, the rooms were spacious and comfortable. We booked four rooms and requested them to be located near each other, which the hotel successfully accommodated. However, housekeeping services need improvement, as one of our rooms was not serviced and there were some inconsistencies in room maintenance during our stay. The hotel’s location is excellent and very convenient. It is close to everything we needed, with Restoran Singgang Budu located right beside the hotel. There are also laundry facilities nearby, and plenty of food options within walking distance, making it a great choice for travelers. The staff were friendly, always smiling, and genuinely tried their best to accommodate our requests throughout our stay. While housekeeping could be improved, the service recovery by the management team and the hotel’s strategic location made our overall stay enjoyable.

So, how about PIR? Let's start with the pros. The sea view is unbeatable, and it has its own long stretch of beach. I'd say it's the second-best on Perhentian Island, right after Long Beach, and definitely better than the two beaches below the Marriott. I even saw sea turtles, sharks, Nemo, and schools of fish while snorkeling – very satisfying! There are also monkeys, squirrels, lizards, and other small animals behind the resort. The staff were very helpful, assisting with luggage from the jetty to the room and again at check-out, which was great. PIR also offers water taxi and island hopping tours, and the prices are quite reasonable. You can also walk to other restaurants for meals. A whole fish cost 80 MYR, which is much cheaper than the 200 MYR at the Marriott. Now for the cons. PIR's breakfast is absolutely terrible. Besides fried eggs, I really didn't know what to eat, though the watermelon was decent. Their regular meals are okay, similar in taste to Mama's. The soundproofing is definitely poor; you can hear conversations from the next room and even the sound of the waves. Also, the bed sheets weren't very clean. I'd recommend bringing your own bedding.

Pros- The location is good and the environment of the outside resort is also good.also the beach view is stunning.as well as their breakfast also not bad. Cons - their room situation is very very bad. Need to renovate. So old furniture and everything inside the room.feels like it will break now. Also smelly. The door even the bed everything is half broken already. Even it was rusting inside. So I will say it’s not worth it with the price we paid for one night in this room.  Suggestion- your resort is big also attractive. Please do some renovations so you can attract more guests also can give them a better experience thank you.
