"Raia Hotel & Convention Centre is big and faces the Kuching airport terminal. Pick-up is at Gate 3 of the airport arrival hall after WhatsApp the hotel. In five minutes, the hotel white van with the Raia Hotel logo came to pick me up.
Upon entering the room and activating the power source, the television automatically shows Bloomberg News. I had tried to switch it off to sleep but the remote control did not function.
I cannot see the airport runway from my room. It may be possible to see Air Borneo aircraft ascend to the sky at a corner in a twinkling of an eye.
I slept for four hours thirty minutes and woke up after the prompt wake-up call to check-in for Air Borneo's flight to KLIA on 8 August 2026.
Kindly note that the hotel is under renovation and enhancement works until 19 September 2026. It is not practical to stay in the room during and after breakfast and the room has no minibar. If one does not have a flight to catch in the morning, stay elsewhere in Kuching."

"The hotel is relatively new, with a 'light luxury' style, located right next to the Hilton. The river view isn't as good as the Hilton's, but the night view from the top-floor pool is nice, and the gym also has a great view. However, there were hairs on the bedsheets and on the floor in my room. I asked the front desk to send someone to change them. The sheets didn't feel very clean, and the towels were gray, so I didn't use any of them. It was okay for one night, I guess."

"Our third time staying at the Imperial. We booked a corner Deluxe room overlooking the pool so it was easy to see when the pool was not busy. On this visit we requested a higher floor so the noise from the pool did not disturb us. The room was great. Bathroom had a shower unit and a full size bath. Shampoo and body was provided, plus other essentials like shower cap etc.
The breakfast is wonderful and offers a lot of choice.
The hotel also offers a free shuttle service to the airport which we availed of this time as it fitted well with the departure time of our flight."

"Excellent location right by the river with a beautiful view of the opposite bank. It's also very convenient being close to the river tour pier. The reception service was top-notch; not only were they polite, but they also anticipated guests' needs. The breakfast buffet offered a wide and generous selection. However, there weren't enough staff, so during busy times, table clearing was quite slow, and guests had to wait patiently."

Our room was spacious, comfortable, and spotless, with a great bathroom and comfortable beds. The staff were friendly and professional with smooth check-in and check-out process. The facilities were excellent, and the overall atmosphere was relaxing. Great value for money and definitely recommend staying here again when visiting Miri.

It mainly features older furnishings, so it’s suitable if you don’t mind that style. The cleanliness is highly commendable, as maintaining older items requires great care. Yongan16This is by far the best hotel in Kuching. It's newly renovated and even better than the Sheraton or Shangri-La. Perched high on a hilltop, its elevated location means it's safe from floods, a real plus in an island city like Kuching. The hotel complex itself is massive. The upper floors house the hotel, while the annex downstairs is a shopping mall. They're currently hosting a book exhibition, and there are plenty of bubble tea and ice cream shops – perfect for an afternoon stroll. The hotel breakfast is truly luxurious, with crab and salmon available in abundance. Make sure to book your stay with breakfast included!

Dik FaiJust arrived at the hotel and was informed that there was ongoing water pipe repair work outside, which caused a temporary water disruption during the daytime. We couldn’t shower or wash our hands for a while, which was quite inconvenient. Thankfully, the water supply returned to normal again in the evening.
Front desk staff were still very polite and helpful throughout the situation.
We booked the Deluxe Single Room, and the king-sized bed was very comfortable and spacious, enough for us two adults and our 2yo child, with plenty of extra space. However, the bed felt slightly damp when we first arrived, but it became better later at night.
The hotel also has a family pool and direct beach access, which makes it a great place for families with kids to relax and unwind. The buffet breakfast menu was also quite rich with plenty of choices.

The room facilities were okay, but the ac definitely needs improvement. When we checked into the room, the fan was already on. After switching the fan off, we noticed that the air conditioner was not cooling the room properly and it felt quite warm. We ended up sleeping with only the fan running throughout the night, which was disappointing as we did not expect such an experience. 😓
We checked the air conditioner ourselves and confirmed that it was switched on and set to the correct temperature. We also noticed that the lobby air conditioning was extremely cold, so there seemed to be a significant difference compared to our room.
We reported the issue to the front desk, but were informed that the room air conditioner was functioning well. Unfortunately, this was not our experience, and it affected our overall comfort during the stay.

J the PenguinRoom is clean and comfortable. If you need to know, the pillows are the fluffiest that’ll support your spine in your sleep.
A few non functioning locks (toilet) and drawers (fridge) but nothing too major that affects stay experience.
As a business traveller, it’s important to note that the room is filled with sockets which means no power supply concerns.

Serene_lanThe hotel ambiance exudes old-money charm. During my stay, I even had the pleasure of seeing their Sultan King. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. The hotel's location is excellent, said to be in the best 'feng shui' spot, feeling grand and impressive. It directly faces the river, and in the evenings, it's very convenient to stroll along the riverside to Marina Bay Sands. The only issue was that the air conditioning wasn't cooling when I checked in, but it was resolved after I reported it. Later that night, I discovered the shower gel dispenser was nearly empty, and no product would come out. Then, the shower drain clogged, quickly flooding the entire bathroom during my quick shower. The hotel does show some signs of aging facilities, but everything else was great.
