"Located on the nice beach of Amami Oshima, it is a spa resort with calm air facing Kakeroma Island. The area is rich in nature and there are few street lights, so you can also pour down the stars in the sky. It was a visit in December, but some people enjoyed the sea activities with water temperatures above ２０ degrees. As for the room, I had room service beer while watching the sky color dyed in the sunset from the window glass of the whole sea. It is very clean and has all the amenities. The open-air bath where you can hear the sound of the waves is until 0 o'clock. Towels are also complete. It's a personal feeling, but there was a yoga lesson on the wood deck where you can see the sunset, and you can feel the power of the island with your whole body. It's a place where you can spend a day relaxing."

"There are plenty of parking spaces. We booked a new annex with breakfast and dinner. The balcony faces the beach of Oni no Washboard. The surprise was the dinner for both nights. The Western chef has superb cooking skills and even molecular cuisine. The ingredients and taste are also top-notch. It's great, and it's very different from the ordinary dinner in the main hotel room. However, there was no fried flying fish in the dinner for the two days. It may not be the season, but you can order one. It looks fresh and tastes good. The day we checked in, we caught up with the high school autumn outing. My wife said that the big bathhouse was full of young girls, ah ah ah ah ah,,,,,,,"

"The hotel staff are very friendly and they also provide airport pick-up and drop-off services! But if you come to Amami and don’t have a car, it’s really inconvenient to travel. But you can ask the hotel to help you book a sightseeing taxi.
Everyone should try to avoid the rainy season in June. It rains every day, but we were lucky enough to have a sunny day. The hotel has a lawn to watch the starry sky, which is so beautiful!"

I saw that this art hotel was also said to offer good value for money. The only downside is that it's a bit far from Kagoshima-Chuo, so you'll need to take a taxi, otherwise, the bus ride takes over half an hour. The room with a view is indeed outstanding. However, the hotel is a bit old, and the facilities are a bit dated. Plus, there's no hot spring, and the only swimming pool is closed in winter. There's also an outdoor spa that requires advance booking and a swimsuit, which I unfortunately didn't bring, so I had to give it a miss. The front desk staff spoke good English. The only issue was that on weekends, breakfast was super crowded, and we had to queue for half an hour 😮💨. However, the breakfast spread was quite rich. Overall, it's not bad, especially suitable for those traveling by car."

This was my first trip to Kagoshima, Kyushu, and your hotel's setting was absolutely stunning, offering distant views of Sakurajima volcano. The hot springs within the hotel also have excellent water quality, especially the open-air bath where you can gaze at Sakurajima. If the weather is good, you can even catch the sunrise around 5:30 AM, truly experiencing the majestic power of nature! The hotel's buffet breakfast lived up to its reputation and was definitely worth the price! Plus, there's a free shuttle bus service daily from Kagoshima-Chuo Station to the hotel. All in all, it's a high-quality hotel well worth staying at for anyone visiting Kagoshima.

It was a shame that it rained heavily on our first day, but perhaps because of that, we were able to check in earlier than expected, which allowed us to relax comfortably. The complimentary ice cream and ramen were a pleasant surprise. The staff were all very attentive and polite, making for a truly enjoyable holiday. I would definitely love to visit again. Thank you!

Richmond hotel was located opposite a big department store, with easy access to bus and trams. A combini is just opposite the hotel.
They have a wider range of personal amenities to pick at the lobby. They have 3 machines to handle checkout, exchange currency (e.g. 1000¥ to 100¥ coins for laundry machines on 6th floor, or break 10,000¥ to smaller notes). The machines also accept your hotel parking charges. When it was raining, hotel provided full size umbrellas for use, without deposit or giving room numbers, which is very convenient.
It has a car park with limited lots, so if you can secure one ,it will be very easy to unload and load your bags. Costs 2400¥ for 2 nights of parking.
Main place for food is closer to Tenmonkan area, which is walkable.

- Right in front of the Ohara-machi bus stop.
- A-Coop (supermarket up to 1900) is within walking distance, making shopping convenient. There's a shared microwave in the inn, so you can buy food at the supermarket and eat it there. There's also a refrigerator in the room.
- There's a large public bath and a sauna.
- Shiratani Unsuikyo is a 30-minute bus ride away.
- The hotel staff are friendly.
Not-so-good points:
- The noise from the plumbing in a nearby room was surprisingly loud, making it difficult to sleep.
- The rental equipment is not well maintained. The equipment itself is old.
While it seems to be an established inn and shows its age in many ways, I think the location is excellent. It might be good to leverage its age and perhaps even specialize in mountain-related features. However, the facilities need to be maintained.

I really enjoyed my two-night stay at Samana Hotel Yakushima. The atmosphere during my visit was very peaceful, and the staff were consistently warm, professional, and attentive. Everything about the stay felt well considered, and there was honestly nothing disappointing. I would definitely return.

The onsen was a real highlight, beautifully maintained and deeply relaxing, and the view from my room was absolutely spectacular. Although it was whale season while I was there, I did not manage to see any whales this time, but that simply gives me another reason to come back.
If there is one small area for improvement, it would be the dining experience. While the food was perfectly fine, it felt rather ordinary compared with the overall quality and standard of the hotel. A more varied and distinctive selection, particularly at the buffet, would better match the hotel’s otherwise excellent experience.
Overall, a truly lovely stay, and one I would happily recommend.

My stay at Pricia Resort on Yoron Island was a mixed but overall pleasant experience. The location is undeniably stunning — crystal-clear turquoise waters, white sandy beaches, and the kind of tropical scenery that makes you feel completely removed from the everyday hustle.
The standout of the entire trip was without a doubt the staff - Tana, Takumi, Hoshi. From check-in to check-out, every team member was warm, attentive, and genuinely eager to make my stay special. They went above and beyond with local recommendations and were always on hand with a smile. Breakfast is great with lots of choices on buffet. There is also all day lounge to get free drinks and nuts.
The resort itself has real charm and a wonderful atmosphere, but it’s clear that the facilities are showing their age. Several areas would benefit significantly from renovation — from the rooms to the common areas, a refresh would bring the physical experience in line with the exceptional service and natural beauty surrounding it.
That said, if you’re looking for a peaceful island escape with a welcoming team and breathtaking scenery, Pricia Resort still delivers. With some investment in the property, this could easily be one of the best resort experiences in southern Japan.
Recommended for: nature lovers, snorkeling enthusiasts, and travelers seeking an off-the-beaten-path Japanese island escape. A must visit - Yurigahama Beach! Uninhabited place and this is the iconic beach of Yoron.

orenjiiiIt is advisable that you have a car as it is a bit far from the main road. Also, it would be better to avail the breakfast and dinner in the hotel due to hotel's location and there is no nearby convenience store from the hotel. Breakfast is a set meal and at the same time they have buffet style for the drinks, rice, etc.
The room is spacious for 2 and the price for it is reasonable.
The hotel staff are very approachable and some of them could speak/ understand English. They are also very accommodating to our requests.
Overall, staying here in this hotel is worth the money.

It's walking distance to the bustling downtown and plenty of restaurants, so exploring and dining out was a breeze. The hotel and rooms felt new and clean, making for a very comfortable stay. The artificial carbonated hot spring in the public bath was fantastic for soothing away travel fatigue. I especially enjoyed the breakfast on the top floor, with amazing views of Sakurajima while savoring dishes made with local ingredients. The staff were also very attentive and polite. Overall, I'd say this is a highly satisfying hotel.

Guest UserI was very satisfied with this hotel. Right outside the hotel entrance, there's a large A-Coop supermarket that offers discounts in the evening. Across the street, you'll find Sukiya, FamilyMart, and a drugstore. The hotel also has a restaurant bar on the first floor. From my room, I had a fantastic, wide-open view of Sakurajima volcano! What's particularly great is the shuttle bus service that runs every half hour between Kagoshima-Chuo Station and the hotel – super convenient! A little tip: the shuttle pick-up point at Kagoshima-Chuo Station can be tricky to find. It's best to exit from the East Exit, cross the pedestrian bridge to the other side of the road, then enter through the ground floor entrance and walk through the lobby – you'll see the stop there. The hotel breakfast was also very good, though you might have to queue a bit during peak hours. The hotel staff also helped me call a taxi, and it only took about 10 minutes to get to the Tenmonkan area.
