"The hotel is ideally located, approximately thirteen minutes away from Morioka station, and equidistant with the nearby castle park. It is also within walking distance of many conveniences such as bakeries, combinis, and a local cinema. There are coin operated laundry facilities onsite, and the staff are helpful, kind, and professional. There is an onsite dining area, as well as dining facilities, which I can not attest to as I was on business and, as such, left early and returned late. However, the aromas were enticing! Morioka has many beautiful shrines and temples, with Nasukawacho and its 300 Buddha statues being of particular note. Enjoy your stay."

"Our second stop on this East Japan trip was Morioka. The hotel is right across from the station, but I didn't dare cross the road because there was no pedestrian sidewalk. So, I took the underground passage instead. Since it was my first time there, I wasn't familiar with the area and had to carry my suitcase up the stairs. Luckily, there weren't too many steps.
I actually didn't have high hopes for this hotel, but it turned out to be surprisingly good! The service was excellent, and it's conveniently connected to a Lawson convenience store; you can enter the hotel directly with your room key. I heard the breakfast was good, so I bought one day's worth to try it out. It was 2600 JPY per person, and breakfast started at 6:15 AM. The Japanese really wake up early – there was already a queue before it even opened!
The single room was very spacious, and the soundproofing was excellent. The price was also very reasonable. I'll definitely choose this place again next time I'm in Morioka."

"The main reason for staying at the Hongyeguan Hotel was its convenient location for cherry blossom viewing in the north. It's only a little over half an hour's drive to the exhibition center. The hotel includes two meals: a buffet breakfast and dinner. After cherry blossom viewing, guests can enjoy various delicacies such as king crab, soak in the hot springs, and there are even ethnic performances in the evening. The cherry blossoms were in full bloom on the day we checked in, and Hongyeguan was surrounded by them – it was beautiful!"

"The exterior and lobby of this accommodation truly amazed me. Due to my itinerary and being my first time in Morioka, I wasn't familiar with the route to the hotel, so it was a bit of a struggle. Dragging my luggage through Morioka's streets was indeed quite difficult.
But arriving at the hotel made it all worthwhile. The comfortable environment and friendly staff were incredibly appreciated.
I had bought delicious tomatoes, peaches, and blueberries at the Sendai morning market the previous day, and I'm so grateful to the front desk staff for helping to store them, along with my luggage.
The biggest surprise was that when I checked in that evening, I found that the staff had already put my luggage in my room and had even refrigerated the fruits and vegetables. I was so touched.
I would definitely stay here again if I had the chance.
The emergency escape lights would have been better if they were labeled; thank you to the front desk staff for informing me.
The lighting wasn't very bright, but it was sufficient.

"This is my third time in Morioka, and I was lucky enough to catch the cherry blossoms in full bloom – it was beautiful! The hotel room was spacious and comfortable. It's also not far from the JR station, and Kaiun Bridge and Morioka Castle Site Park are both nearby. Great value for money!"

"The room was small but quite clean. Breakfast was average. It's located near the JR station, so the location is pretty good. Tea bags in the lobby are free. We stayed in winter and it cost a little over 400 yen per room, which is considered good in Japan."

"How do I describe this hotel? In one word: amazing. It was my first time experiencing a mixed-gender bath from over a century ago. I was truly impressed! The elderly gentlemen were just casually strolling around without a care in the world. Families, you absolutely must try the mixed-gender outdoor hot spring bath. It's located in the old wing of the hotel, a bit of a walk from the new wing, but once you're in the hotel, just grab a map and you'll find it. You can also take the opportunity to peek into the rooms and dining hall of this century-old ryokan. As for the room, it goes without saying that upon entering, you're greeted with a flood of green, which was quite a pleasant surprise. The only minor point is that the Hozawa River was a bit murky. I drove upstream along the river, and soon lost cell service, so it is quite remote, but definitely worth a visit. The two meals were decent, nothing spectacular but perfectly acceptable."

The hotel isn't modern or new, but it's well-maintained. Stayed in the tatami room and it's extremely spacious.
Opt for the dinner buffet as there aren't lots of dining options unless you drive. Breakfast was full of Western and Japanese options. Oiishi!

Guest UserThis Toyoko Inn is a bit far from JR Morioka Station, requiring a walk through an underpass, so it's not the most convenient. Unlike other Toyoko Inns, there are no welcome drinks or ramen offered in the evenings. Breakfast is also very standard, and the rooms are quite small. Overall, it's an average experience.

The hotel is new and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The hot springs are very comfortable, and the environment is exceptionally peaceful. The buffet is delicious. I highly recommend it to friends who are traveling by car!

Kumamon_daydayeatThe breakfast quality is very high, I especially loved the Platinum pork. The wooden style of the rooms is new and beautiful. It's an 8-minute walk from the station, which is very convenient. The public bath is a bit small, but still a decent option. It would be even better if the elevator was larger and the front desk staff were more efficient. Overall, it's a good choice.

The facilities at Abhi Hotel are excellent, with a microwave, vending machines, an ice maker, and a washing machine – all very convenient. The food and the staff's service attitude are also great, especially the Chinese-speaking intern who was incredibly friendly and kind, helping us with all our questions. Thank you for your help!

A group of four of us booked a cabin on a whim, and I’m so happy we did!! We did a two-day ski trip to Geto Kogen, and I cannot stress enough how convenient these cabins were to the resort itself. We stayed overnight in between two days at the resort. The drive up to the resort was less than 20 minutes. The cabin itself was super cozy, so comfortable, had great amenities for the short time we were there, and the staff were so kind and helpful. Everything was very clean, the heater was already on when we arrived, which was a very thoughtful touch, and we were able to hang all our snow gear to dry thanks to the copious amounts of hangars available. We felt it was a crazy good deal based on the price, location, and availability to book it just a few days in advance. We will definitely be back in the summer to use the grill and go golfing at the country club!
