Excellent breakfast and very clean.
Hotel Örk stands out for its excellent breakfast with plenty of variety. The rooms and common areas were very clean and well maintained. A comfortable and pleasant stay overall.
The room was a bit small, but having a hot spring bath and sauna made up for not being able to go out due to the strong winds on the day we checked in. However, there aren't any restaurants nearby, and since it's not an apartment, we couldn't cook in the room. The restaurant on-site had a nice ambiance, but it was expensive and the food wasn't great.
The room is a bit small, but that's the case for all hotels in Iceland. The surrounding environment is very good. You can hike on the hill in front of the hotel. There is a large lake behind the hotel. When the weather is good, you can see snow-capped mountains in the distance. The grass and birch forest on the side are very pleasing to the eye. There is also a hot spring pool facing the lake not far away.
The manor is very beautiful, the scenery along the way is very good, the hotel is also very beautiful, it can be seen that the boss is carefully operating. The breakfast room is very stylish, the heating is very sufficient
The lake view room is quite nice, close to the supermarket and much cheaper than Reykjavik, the breakfast is average, the coffee is not good. In the town, the view is definitely not as good as the hotel in the mountains.
Love this hotel very much. Except the breathtaking view is true to the pictures online, also the attentive service from the reception and housekeeping. Dinner at the hotel is suggested reserving first(they sent email to remind me to do so) and the food and the waitress is nice. They also have a snack bar and swimsuits for purchase.
The room design and color tone is really relaxing and functional. The hot tubs outside is so good not only for photos but also for soothing and relaxing the body.
Recommend for staying 1-2 nights here during the whole trip.
The hotel is a bit far from town, but there's a horse ranch nearby. The service and environment are excellent. Perhaps because it's so far from town, it's convenient for viewing the aurora borealis. Also, the front desk offers an aurora wake-up call.
Great location, close to the Bund, just 100m from the metro, and near Yu Garden. The room was spacious and clean, and the staff were incredibly friendly. Breakfast offered a good variety of choices. Overall, excellent!
The location is great, the room is very big, besides the lockers and closets, people in the empty rooms rarely experience a good and enthusiastic landlord, and the furniture and lighting are very tasteful. Breakfast is great, it would be better if it could be provided earlier, the location is great, the room is large, in addition to the lockers and wardrobes, few people in the empty rooms experience a good and enthusiastic landlord, furniture and lighting are all Very tasteful. Breakfast is great, it would be better if it could be served earlier
A little expensive but there are not much choices there if you want to glacial hike and not drive too much early in the morning. Cheaper food options opposite which is also owned by them. The car park is too bright for the northern lights. They have northern light calls technically but I doubt they call.

Great
AAnonymous UserThe hotel is about a 20-minute drive from the town of Selfoss. The rooms are large and clean, and the breakfast is plentiful. I didn't see any Chinese guests. There is a hot tub outside the room, and it is very quiet at night.
GGuest UserVery close and walking distance to Skogafoss waterfall.
Breakfast was very good.
Room is dated, no fridge but they offer free coffee/tea (machine) which is right outside the rooms.
Water smelt like sulphur but it’s due to the geo thermal water they are using.
GGuest UserThe good:
- Breakfast was very good!
- Room and bed was warm.
- hot water shower works almost instantly.
- Netflix and Amazon Prime available on the TV.
Can be improved:
- toilet slide door emited loud screeching sound which was annoying.
- poor sound isolation between floors, we stayed on the ground floor and we could hear stomping the whole night. We feedback this to the hotel staff but was just given a “I cannot do anything about it” face and a shoulder shrug which clearly indicated they did not have the intention to do anything about it.
- phone in the room was not working, staff had to reboot it as they said it’s a common issue.
- the air vent in the bathroom stopped moving after sometime, was told to turn it off and on again to make it work again.
- we checked in the same time as another couple at the reception, we overheard that they got a complementary room upgrade from the standard room (same as us). We asked if we would be upgraded as well, staff just told us that it depends on the amount we paid for the room. But clearly we booked the same standard room?
Overall:
Room rate was on the high side and much was expected but the condition of the room and service were under delivered.
GGuest UserWe have a 1 night stay at Midgard Camp during our 9 days road trip in Iceland. It is our 2nd stop hotel of our trip.
Though the room are not big, but it is comfortable, good and cosy enough for all. The family rooms comes with 1 double bed plus 1 bunk bed enough for all 4 of us.
The whole place is very vibrant, friendly staff, nicely decorated and energetic yet peaceful and quiet for individual enjoyment. The whole place is very well maintained and It is very clean even the common toilet as I bathe there to avoid waiting for our private toilet to save some time. The common kitchen is for all guests and is well equipped. We cooked our hot meal as well as breakfast there. We can also enjoy the complementary coffee/tea from the hotel paid breakfast. Overall, We enjoy our stay there even though it is just 1 night. The location is easily found with the GPS, you wouldn't miss it. Highly recommended this place. Also, really appreciate the friendly staff giving us a round tour of the place explaining where are the common toilet, hot bathe tub, dryer for our swim wear should we use the hot bathe tub and sauna. This is indeed exceed our expectation actually. 10/10!
--Rechen-Hepburn is a very quiet town, so this hotel is quite good in comparison. It's an older-style hotel with no elevator, only stairs. By 7 or 8 PM, there were no supermarkets open for shopping. Overall, if I were to stay in the area again, I'd choose Wicke (assuming Wicke is another location/hotel name, otherwise it might be a typo for 'Wick' referring to a brand of essentials).
GGuest UserThe room was not soundproof at all, and I could clearly hear noise throughout the night. The entire room felt damp, especially the bedding. The blanket was noticeably moist, which caused me to have an allergic reaction. My skin became extremely itchy, and I barely got any sleep the whole night.
This was a very uncomfortable experience, and I was extremely disappointed. I will definitely not stay here again.
WWANG ER beijingFacilities: Very good, the heating was excellent. No elevator though.
Hygiene: Clean, hygienic, and well-maintained.
Environment: Great location, right by the sea with ocean views.
Service: The front desk manager was very welcoming and thoughtful during check-in, even helping guests with their luggage. However, the housekeeping department was poor. They unauthorizedly opened and discarded items that guests had left behind in their room.
DDeb93Very beautiful structure, clean, ordered and there is everything necessary. Equipped with kitchen and two bathrooms. The living was very nice, fortunately we had close to super friendly rooms 😊 stra recommended!
ZZiyouzhiniao01The hotel is very close to the volcanic lake, the surrounding scenery is beautiful, the room is clean and hygienic. The disadvantage is that there is almost no wifi signal, breakfast is simple, there are few varieties, and there are more tourists and need to queue.
OOlgaWe stayed in this cabin for a one night and were very impressed by how comfortable and well equipped it was. The kitchenette had a microwave and a kettle to prepare simple meals, and the bathroom was modern and spotless. The floor heating created a cozy atmosphere, especially in the mornings. The location is perfect—just a short walk to the sea, where the fresh air and views are breathtaking. One of the highlights was the many sheep grazing nearby, which gave the area a peaceful, countryside charm. It’s an ideal place to relax and recharge, highly recommended!
No WiFi in the cabin available but in the lounge in the building nearby
