"The overall experience was alright but not highly satisfied. I chose the hotel because we hope to stay in the Mansion with long history and heritage that hopefully make our family journey more enjoyable. Before we go, I searched for the comment on websites and found some travellers give bad comments e.g. small bathroom with mold, dusty table and floor mat, etc. Thanks for providing these honest comment so I reduce my own expectation a little bit. When we enter the hotel room, warm welcome received from hotel staff. We arrived at 15pm and thought we can have some teatime in the hotel but sadly we were told teatime must be book 24hrs in advance. They can serve us scones and tea instead. Then we went to our the double bed room 14sq.m one and it does look small, especially the toilet is small like a hostel or affordable stay instead of a hotel room charging gbp170 a night which we have expected it should be more than that. The sink was so small, have to wash hands really carefully otherwise water will be spitted everywhere. The tea corner, the alarm, the window were dusty, The cup and spoon were not clean properly. Despite all these, The bed was fine and comfy. The hotel building itself is historical and beautiful, with multiple dining rooms serving lunch, tea, dinner. Bar service serving drinks, large library, board games available for kids, very spacious greenfield and beautiful rose garden. Morning breakfast 8-10am is a self-service one and the food were hot and fresh. In overall, the beautiful nature surrounded and the historical building itself make the whole experience happy, but the hotel service and hygiene level do recommend for improvement."

"A short 1 night stay while visiting friends nearby. In short the location, service, & breakfast were all good, but the hotel building is need of some work. It's a lovely period property in the style that is expected with creaking floorboards, sash windows, and curious corridors leading to uniquely shaped rooms. The single room was compact and had been somewhat modernised, the bed was comfortable and clean, but sadly that didn't extend into the bathroom/shower-room that needed some work. Perhaps most noticably there are many simple things that would bring the room fully up to scratch such as sorting out the grouting in the bathroom, replacing the noisy extractor fan, removing mould from around the bathroom ceiling, replacing the dirty net curtain on the window, washing the carpet regularly & hoovering more carefully. Similarly with the front of the building, give all the painted areas a refresh, peeling paint is not a good first impression when parking the car. The full scottish breakfast was cooked to order and delicious. Hopefully if I do return on a visit next year the owners will have made some improvements to the building as it could be a lovely hotel with much higher review scores."

Mussselburgh is a quiet fishing village. Edinburgh is one of the most exciting cities in the UK. So put yourself in pole position for both destinations, at Premier Inn Hotel Edinburgh A1 (Musselburgh). Whether you're here on business or pleasure, you'll have a great stay. Musselburgh is known as 'The Honest Toun', and we can honestly say you'll have a fantastic time here. Laugh your socks off at the Edinburgh Festival, or bet your shirt at the Musselburgh races. Don plus fours and have a round of golf at Royal Musselburgh, or visit Rosslyn Chapel, one of the most remarkable buildings in Scotland. Then come back to a hearty meal at our Brewers Fayre - no need to dress for dinner - and a lovely comfy bed.

"Let me talk about the advantages first. This inn is on the outskirts of Edinburgh, about 10 kilometers drive, and the location is good. Accommodation in Edinburgh is high and parking is difficult. Therefore, choosing to stay here is quite good; the other is that parking is very convenient, the hotel is in front of the parking lot, parking spaces are sufficient. 9 pounds a night, this parking fee level is simply cabbage price in the UK, very friendly for self-driving. The inn can see the idyllic scenery of the UK at the entrance of the inn, very beautiful. The disadvantage is that the price is not cheap, there is no elevator, although the floor is not high, there are 3 floors, but if there is a lot of luggage, it will take a little effort. The air conditioner in the room cannot be adjusted by itself and it is hot enough. There is nothing wrong with it."

FFrankieexuThe two small buildings at the entrance are also hotel rooms. Although there is no air conditioning, there is basically no need for air conditioning here. We stayed in mid-September and needed to turn on the electric heater to sleep. . The temperature was just right during the day and it was so comfortable. Picture 1 shows a large room, Picture 2 shows a large room downstairs and a small room upstairs. Picture 3 shows the main building of the hotel from a distance, the sentinel building at the door of where I live. 🫣
