"Took us some time to understand how things function in the room, but we finally got it. We missed the AC most. Although the city is at almost 2300 m alttitude, it can get hot in the summer and there's only a narrow window in the room. Too little to cool it over the night. No fridge means no cold drinks either. And also the shower nozzle is not fully functional. Water is fighting its way out of that 😵 But there is a nice lobby and also the room looks good. We did get a surprise snack around 10.00 pm. All put together I would say 'Better try one of the other hotels in the neighbourhood.'"

"My last night in Xining, I chose this hotel mainly because it's close enough to the train station.
The hotel's underground parking lot seems to have a limited number of spaces (similar to the Holiday Inn Express I stayed at before). You need to get a handwritten pass from the front desk to enter and exit without paying for parking.
I arrived around 3:30 PM, and they said the room was still being inspected, so I had to wait a bit before getting the room card. The front desk also gave me two complimentary vouchers for afternoon tea on the top floor. I checked it out later, and honestly, it felt less impressive than the breakfast's dessert, fruit, and beverage selection. 😅
I got a room on the 20th floor with views of the mountains to the north and south of Xining, so I guess you could call it a ”mountain view + city view” room.
Breakfast was pretty standard. The local specialties from Qinghai were 'sanzi' and 'huahua' (I think that's what it was called, also a fried starchy food).
Similar to other HUAZHU hotels I've stayed at, this one had many tourists from eastern China. Around 8 AM, the restaurant and elevators became particularly crowded.

The location is excellent and super convenient, right in the heart of Xining, very close to Wangfujing Department Store. There are tons of great food options and shopping plazas nearby. What really stood out was the warm, attentive, and thorough service; they cleaned the room daily. Plus, the airport shuttle is right across the street, which was incredibly relaxing – no need to lug my suitcase around!"

"The hotel experience was great! The room was super spacious and even had an oxygen concentrator to help with altitude sickness. The location is really convenient; you can see the salt lake right from the room. It's only a 7-minute drive to Chaka Salt Lake. They also gave us complimentary yogurt and a small gift. There are plenty of dining options downstairs, plus a Mixue Ice Cream & Tea and a Luckin Coffee nearby. The service was thoughtful, and the bedding was comfortable. I highly recommend staying here when you visit Chaka!"

"A perfect stay experience. The hotel is fully equipped with gym, laundry room, intelligent control room. The room is large, convenient to wash, dry and wet separation. Most importantly, the amount of water and temperature for washing are also very good! Breakfast is also very powerful. There was no breakfast when I booked. The front desk lady was very intimate to upgrade the room, give breakfast coupons, and the service was very thoughtful. The hotel is very close to Xining Station, within walking distance, which is super convenient for catching high-speed trains. The front desk staff were very dedicated and proactive in helping with any issues. The hotel breakfast was plentiful, and the restaurant was spacious. They also have an underground parking garage, which is great for those traveling by car. The rooms were clean and tidy, and the bedding was very comfortable. The hotel's surroundings have a well-developed commercial area, making shopping and strolling very convenient. It's close to Xining's shopping streets and night markets. Highly recommended!

However, the front desk and staff were very proactive in addressing the issue, and the room they moved us to next door was much better. When we checked out, the staff kindly helped us take our luggage to the car, which was a definite plus. The room had central air conditioning, and the front desk mentioned that the cold air would stop after 11 PM. It turns out that Xining's weather cools down significantly at night, so it really wasn't needed. I even had to put on a long-sleeved shirt when I went out at 10 AM the next day.

GGuest UserOn this business trip to Xining, I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Xining Chengdong the entire time, and my overall experience was fantastic. I have to especially commend Julie at the front desk; her meticulous service made me feel incredibly welcome.
The hotel is located on Bayi East Road in Chengdong District, right next to Wuyue Plaza, making dining and shopping very convenient. It's also not far from the highway entrance and Xining Station, which is great for both driving and public transport. As a newly opened hotel, the lobby design is elegant, and the room amenities are brand new and complete. The floor-to-ceiling windows offer a wide view, and the room was spotlessly clean. The 24-hour gym and self-service laundry facilities are well-equipped, and the breakfast buffet offers a rich variety, including local Qinghai specialties like yak yogurt and甜醅 (sweet fermented oats).
I arrived feeling exhausted in the evening after a long journey. Julie greeted me with a constant smile and efficiently handled the check-in process. Seeing my heavy luggage, she proactively offered to help carry it and patiently explained the room facilities, Wi-Fi password, laundry room, and breakfast times. When I casually asked about self-driving routes to Qinghai Lake and local food spots, she patiently outlined an itinerary, even recommending niche attractions and reminding me about precautions for high-altitude travel. When my room card stopped working, I contacted the front desk and Julie came to resolve the issue within minutes, without any pretense. Her service was professional yet down-to-earth throughout, without any rigid formalities; she genuinely thought about the guests. While good hardware is a hotel's foundation, warm service is what truly adds value. Thanks to Julie's thoughtful service, my travel fatigue disappeared. I'll definitely choose this hotel again on my next visit to Xining, and I highly recommend it to everyone!
