"This hotel is perfectly situated on a hillside in the heart of the village, offering convenient access and excellent views. The service is incredibly attentive, with seamless arrangements for transfers to and from the scenic area entrance. Every staff member is genuinely warm and welcoming, making you feel right at home. Breakfast is prepared with great care, and they even sent us off with a small gift and drinks for our journey. What truly stands out is that every evening, the guesthouse hosts 4-5 incredibly talented artists performing Dong Grand Songs. Listening to them up close is a truly enchanting experience, like celestial music, and a wonderful artistic treat. This performance significantly enhanced our stay."

The high-altitude lobby and panoramic rooms offer breathtaking views of Jiaxiu Tower and the city. The soft furnishings beautifully blend local Guizhou indigo and Miao embroidery details, creating an elegant and sophisticated atmosphere. The service was thoughtful and impeccable; both the buffet and executive lounge food were excellent. The front desk and room service were incredibly responsive. The gym facilities are comprehensive, and the breakfast offers a great mix of Western and Chinese options. It's a fantastic choice for hosting clients or a short business trip – truly impressive. "I arrived at the hotel around 6 PM, and the air conditioning in my room was broken. After a lot of hassle, I finally got a new room around 10 PM, but the AC in that one had a terrible, musty and smoky smell. Picture one shows the restaurant, and for a supposed 128 RMB breakfast, it offered instant fried noodles and similar items – definitely not what you'd expect from a five-star hotel. The zoo next to the restaurant was a novel idea though, and one of the staff members there was very nice. However, I think the hotel should focus more on its core business. I wanted to go to the pool on the 5th floor, but you have to walk through a row of shops to get there, making me wonder if it's outsourced. It felt less like a hotel and more like an old-fashioned entertainment arcade. The lifeguard at the pool was even on their phone with headphones on… The management of this hotel really isn't five-star quality. Accor's standards are far too inconsistent."

"Kempinski lives up to all the expectations of a five-star hotel, not necessarily in terms of luxury, but because there's simply nothing wrong with it. Everything works, which isn't always easy to achieve. However, these expectations are based on my younger days traveling for business around the turn of the century. For instance, the lack of a coffee machine, with only instant coffee available, feels a bit too 'classic' now. The power outlets aren't very convenient for larger chargers, as there isn't enough space around them. In one of our rooms, the shower was right next to the bathtub without a separate enclosure. Also, the elevators were quite slow.
The location and orientation are excellent. One room had a floor-to-ceiling window directly overlooking Jiaxiu Tower on the Nanming River, with a view of Guanfeng Pavilion too. A shopping mall is right next to the hotel, and Wenchang Pavilion and Minsheng Road Food Street are just a ten-minute walk away.
Breakfast hours are extended, and the food selection is abundant; there were even five types of porridge alone. The management is very well-organized."

My stay at the Guizhou Hotel VIP Building was fantastic, and I really want to commend Xiao Xiong at the front desk! Check-in was efficient, Xiao Xiong was always smiling and friendly, patiently helped me coordinate my room, and tried her best to meet all my requests 👍
The concierge team also deserves a huge compliment. Their service was very proactive, helping me with sending and receiving packages, and storing my luggage. They were efficient and meticulous throughout, I didn't have to worry about a thing.
The room amenities were also a big plus. The fully smart TOTO toilet with bidet function is practically a necessity for me, perfectly meeting my travel needs.
During breakfast, it was a bit chaotic, possibly due to a large number of guests, and the speed of refilling dishes was slightly affected. However, the variety was great, with both local specialties and Western pastries, so I definitely ate my fill.
Overall, the minor flaws didn't detract from an otherwise excellent experience."

"This hotel is truly excellent! You can enjoy affordable Maotai here, and they even offer complimentary ice cream. What's more, it's incredibly thoughtful – for a family of three, we only had two breakfast vouchers, and when we offered to pay for the third, the staff at the entrance just waved us in! Definitely worth staying here! It's clean, hygienic, and the service is warm and welcoming! The only feedback I have is that the Maotai specialty store in the lobby on the first floor has too limited a selection. People travel so far to get here, so it would be great if they could offer a wider variety. Expand the range and let everyone happily buy the Maotai they love, wouldn't that be better?"

"We embarked on a 14-day trip to Guiyang this time. We took a direct bus from Zhenyuan Ancient Town bus station to the East Gate of Fanjingshan. After a short walk of a few minutes, crossing the Heiwuan River Wind-Rain Bridge, which spans the Taiping River and features typical Dong ethnic architectural style, we arrived at the hotel. I'd say the transportation was incredibly convenient.
During check-in, we met front desk attendant Xiao Le (No. 02). He was very enthusiastic and smiling, taking our two pieces of luggage and escorting us to our room. He also presented us with complimentary welcome fruits and shared a Fanjingshan travel guide, which we found very touching.
Since this was our first time in Guizhou and we were traveling independently, we weren't very familiar with the transport connections. Before our trip, I called the front desk to ask which Fanjingshan gate the hotel was closest to. The person who answered the phone was impatient, said they were busy, and hung up after just a couple of words. It's the same hotel, yet due to differing service attitudes, guests experience very different feelings. If Guizhou wants to develop its tourism industry, even with the national government building highways right to its doorstep, the service awareness still needs significant improvement."
