This hotel offers excellent value for money. Its central location in Kota Kinabalu is incredibly convenient for getting around and finding food, with many popular local eateries within walking distance. As an economy brand under Wyndham, the hotel is generally clean and tidy. While the rooms are designed with simplicity in mind, they offer ample space and good natural light, and all essential amenities are provided. The staff are quite enthusiastic, and check-in and check-out processes are quick. There's an international restaurant on-site. While the breakfast selection isn't particularly luxurious, it's perfectly adequate for a simple daily meal. If you're visiting Kota Kinabalu for leisure or business and looking for an affordable, well-located, and brand-backed place to stay, this is a very practical and comfortable choice.

This was my third time staying at the Kaseh Hotel in Kota Kinabalu, and I brought my mother along for a trip. As always, the stay was incredibly satisfying! Service: The front desk staff were warm and helpful, offering check-in services in both Chinese and English. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and plentiful, with a wide variety of dishes that my mother particularly enjoyed. When cleaning the room, they always replenished necessary disposable items and even helped tidy up clothes on the bed and toiletries in the bathroom, which was very thoughtful. Cleanliness: The hotel was clean and tidy, with daily room cleaning service. Environment: The location is extremely convenient. Taking a Grab to city attractions is always within a ten-minute drive, making it easy to get to Sutera Harbour for island hopping and Gaya Street. There are also many restaurants and convenience stores nearby. It's only about a ten-minute Grab ride from the airport, so there's no need to wake up extra early to catch a flight. Getting around to and from the hotel is very convenient. Facilities: As always, the facilities are complete. You can take hotel towels with you for island hopping and snorkeling, just remember to return them. There are plenty of drying racks, perfect for hanging clothes. There's also an outdoor swimming pool. Hope to see Kota Kinabalu again next time!

The location is fantastic. There's a huge mimosa tree right outside the window. Every night, the egrets wash themselves there and look like a bouquet of flowers from my room; in the morning, they slowly spread out. There's a night market directly across the street, making dining very convenient, and the sea views are also excellent. As for the room itself, it's pretty much a standard Aimei Hotel room. The front desk service was okay, and they spoke a bit of Chinese. The doorman opening doors and everything else was also good.

Pros: 1. I think it's female-friendly because you need to swipe your card twice to use the elevator and get to your room, which adds to the security. 2. There's an infinity pool on the top floor and a 360-degree unobstructed rooftop. 3. The location is very close to Tanjung Aru Beach (I walked, but ladies, I'd recommend a taxi). 4. The room is spacious and has a balcony. Cons: It's quite noisy. Firstly, the mini-fridge inside the room is loud, and the electrical distribution box also makes a buzzing sound. The soundproofing is also poor; if someone drags a suitcase outside the door, it's very noticeable. The price of around 350 offers good value for money.

The beach is clean, 50 meters from the water. The constant sound of the sea is present. There's nothing there except the room and the sea, no shops or cafes. You need a car to get to the neighboring town. The owner is very friendly and nice. Unfortunately, we had the misfortune of having local neighbors who threw a party in the room next door, with 6-7 people drinking beer and partying all night until 6 a.m. Trying to ask them not to disturb our sleep resulted in aggression. We didn't feel safe, so we left after the first night. Overall, the hotel is excellent if you're lucky with your neighbors or if the owner keeps an eye on the guests.

Arrived on a late-night flight, and it was a 15-minute taxi ride from the airport. The hotel is quite clean, but the decor is really outdated. Since we arrived late, they only offered us a corner room. We disagreed, and after a long back-and-forth, they still wouldn't budge. We then contacted Trip.com, who communicated with the hotel on our behalf, and they finally agreed to give us a room in the middle of the floor with the same room type. Clearly, they had other rooms available but just didn't want to give them to us. The location of the old Hyatt is excellent, getting anywhere is super convenient.

Perfect Getaway! This hotel on Mantanani Island, Kota Kinabalu, is an absolute gem! It's simply divine! I specifically came to Kota Kinabalu for Mantanani Island's crystal-clear waters, and I chose the Mantanani Hotel in advance. After staying there, I just had to give it five stars! The location is absolutely stunning. Step out, and you're on a soft, white sand beach. Open the balcony door, and you're greeted by the jelly-blue ocean. Waking up to the sound of waves every day was incredibly therapeutic. We booked a sea-view room; it was clean and spacious, the mattress had just the right firmness, and the shower water pressure was perfectly stable. There was no cramped feeling, which can often be the case with island hotels. I have to praise the service! The front desk staff were incredibly enthusiastic. They pre-arranged our island transfers and even proactively recommended snorkeling spots and delicious local snacks. They were always responsive and efficient. The hotel breakfast was also a pleasant surprise – freshly baked waffles with fresh mango, and freshly made Teh Tarik. The taste was absolutely spot on. In the afternoon, I relaxed on a hotel beach chair, enjoying the sea breeze, and in the evening, I had a barbecue at the hotel restaurant under the stars. The pace was wonderfully slow and comfortable – exactly the island vacation vibe I was looking for. If you're coming to Mantanani Island, I honestly recommend staying here. The experience is so much better than a day trip. I'll definitely stay here again on my next visit to Kota Kinabalu! Are you planning a trip to Mantanani Island soon? Would you like me to write another short review in a different style, suitable for social media?

This hotel is good, right by the beach. The room is large and spacious, with all the amenities. The slightly worn bathroom door isn't something I'd consider a drawback. There were no insects. I really think this is the place to stay, especially since it's close to the airport. I couldn't find anywhere to buy food nearby, though. You can take a taxi to the central market or the Filipino market. I also liked that they checked me in in the morning, despite my early arrival. In Kuala Lumpur, I had to wait around until 2 PM to check in.

DDainiqubianquanshijieLet me talk about some aspects beyond the rooms. Even after checking out, if your flight is in the evening, the hotel still provides an exclusive area for showering, getting water, charging devices, and resting. The facilities are comprehensive and clean. The family-friendly amenities are incredibly well-equipped, featuring three large water slides, a kids' slide, and water spray equipment. There's also children's bowling, bubble shows, character interactions, and much more, with different activities every day. They also offer some paid activities for children. The adult and children's pools are well-separated. I had hoped to see the bonfire show, but it was unfortunately canceled due to the weather. For sunset views, you can simply watch from the hotel. The hotel has various restaurants, where you can enjoy a buffet or à la carte dinner. I do hope they can manage the insects in the restaurants, as there were flies during breakfast.

KKT5009Don't book during the rainy season, don't book during the rainy season, don't book during the rainy season. It's from Sep to Feb. I said 3 times it's important if you don't wanna ruin your holiday. We booked 3D2N in mid Sep. Our holiday turned out to be a staycation nightmare in the resort. We can't do all the water activities neither the jungle trekking. The water heater in our room is not working, we have to shower with shivering cold water in this kind of weather. Lots of big size anta inside the room crawling from the bathroom to the bedroom. Make sure you cleaned up for your snacks and drinks, tie up the garbage bag if you don't want these insects to come to your bed, There is also a landslide happening on our first night, luckily we are not affected as we stayed in the ocean villa. There is only one restaurant in this resort, food prices are the same as SG restaurant pricing, no cheap option here. In room dining needs to pay RM25 extra. Staff service is good but this cannot cover the several run down part of the resort.

SStevendingThere's road construction downstairs, which made the hotel feel more like a standard domestic inn. The upside is it's right next to a large mall, so shopping is convenient. Everything else was just so-so, including the sea view, which was also mediocre, and the windows were dirty, obscuring the view.

AAllenYenThe service at Shangri-La is simply beyond words, from the attentive care before check-in to the complimentary drinks offered while waiting to check out – it's truly a super five-star service experience! A fantastic stay! The absolute highlight is the free shuttle bus service. You can take it from the hotel to the airport, as well as to IMAGO Mall and Suria Sabah Shopping Mall in downtown Kota Kinabalu, all for free. This is a huge plus! Although the hotel's location is a bit far from the city center, the free shuttle completely solves this issue, perfectly addressing guests' transportation needs. Superb!

GGongsungongzi886The exterior architecture and the room experience on the fifth floor were decent, though some plants looked a bit withered. The sand was incredibly fine and the scenery beautiful. The food was acceptable; the chicken wings at the sunset restaurant were good, but perhaps not marinated properly, on par with Sbarro quality. The hotel staff were very nice. It's especially suitable for a relaxing stay and for taking photos; it has an old money vibe.

GGuest UserThe hotel's location is excellent, just a ten-minute drive from the airport. Our sea-view room (7326) on the third floor had a balcony directly overlooking the ocean and a lawn, offering great views from the room itself. It was quiet and not crowded, as this building only has five floors. The downsides: the breakfast wasn't good, not really catering to a Chinese palate. Also, there isn't much of a beach next to the hotel; it's very small, mostly just a coastal boardwalk. Overall, it offers good value for money and a true holiday vibe. If you want to catch the sunset at Shangri-La, it's not a far taxi ride. I would still highly recommend it.

GGuest UserEverything was perfect. Every staff member at the resort was incredibly welcoming and helpful, even the maintenance workers I passed on the paths greeted me warmly. The food in the restaurant was delicious, and breakfast was absolutely perfect – I couldn't find a single fault. The resort doesn't cut back on service or close facilities just because there are fewer guests, which is great. It was a perfect getaway, and I will definitely be returning.

YYangbianyanzhongcemaThis resort has three hotels within it, and it's not too far from the airport, about a 15-minute drive. It's also on the flight path, so you will hear some airplane noise. The hotel environment is very comfortable, with both a beach and a golf course. You'll need to take a shuttle to get in and out of the hotel as it's a bit far from the main road. It has the vibe of an older, established hotel, and the facilities are pretty decent – no real need to be picky. The bed was a bit small, though. It has everything you'd expect from a resort. The toiletries aren't great, so you might want to bring your own.
