Beach Hotels in Penang, Malaysia

I recently stayed at Gurney Bay Hotel and had a wonderful experience overall. The seaview from the room was absolutely beautiful, and the buffet offered a fantastic variety of food choices. The staff at the lobby were also incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the hotel's location is highly convenient with easy access to nearby transport. The only minor downside was the room service efficiency; although the staff answered our phone calls very promptly every time we requested items, we had to call back a few times before the items were actually delivered to our room. Overall, it is a fantastic hotel, and I would definitely recommend staying here!

We always stay in this hotel or the next one every time we visit Penang. As usual, beautiful and nice and clean room. We got a cake for our anniversary. Breakfast is good and not crowded like the other hotel. Best location next to 2 shopping malls. We went for seafood buffet in the other sister hotel and at senior citizen price. Fantastic offer. Will definitely be back. We requested for late checkout because don't want to go too early to airport. They gave us 2 more hours which was fantastic.

I was upgraded to a Deluxe room but it was at the extreme corner next to the service staircase. Grateful for the upgraded but the room conditions were not up to par . Hair in shower room , the shower holder fell when I was taking it out and it dropped on my toe . Hence the blue black toe shown ( hehe ) . I could not sleep the whole night as the air con was very very noisy even when I lower the adjustment. The day curtain was torn . I sound it out to reception the next morning to see whether they can change my room as I was staying for another 2 nights . They did and I reckoned it was another up grade as now the room has a standing shower room . In the other previous room , you have to stand in the bath tub to shower and for a man of 65 , it is a bit tricky . The hotel really needs an up grade too . It is in a good location and CAT bus is nearby . The CAT shuttle is a complimentary bus that moves around the town area . The saving grace for my trip was that the staff was up to par and reacted quickly . Well done on this . Now , I wait for my toe to heal .

We booked this place out of spontaneity. Didn't really do much research about it and rely purely on the reviews. But the place really exceeds our expectations! The view is the winning point and the beds are out of this world. In the unit itself there is no washer provided but it's not an issue since the paid version is ready at the common area. For the price and the size of the unit, I would definitely revisit it in my next trip

Hotel is newly renovated, room is spacious and hotel staff are friendly. We enjoyed the pool, beach and breakfast.. and personally I love the vibes and sound of the waves so calming

First, the basic hotel info: it's a 40-minute drive from the old town. We've stayed at many 'Roc' brand hotels before, but this one was surprisingly small. Also, there are no shows or performances on weekdays. Regarding cleanliness, our room faced the pool, which made it quite noisy. If you prefer quiet, you might want to request a room on the other side. Now, breakfast. It was still 'Roc' style, but there really wasn't much to eat. We booked a three-day, two-night stay, and on our second morning, we were told breakfast wasn't included. This was absolutely ridiculous! The hotel's front desk had already confirmed it was included, yet the restaurant staff insisted it wasn't. They kept making us reconfirm and even took photos. Couldn't they just check with the front desk themselves? This lack of attention to detail was really disappointing.

We stayed here as a family of 10 and had such a wonderful experience from start to finish. The rooms were spacious and the beds were incredibly comfortable — everyone slept so well each night. The food at the restaurant was absolutely delicious, with something for everyone to enjoy. One of the highlights was definitely the beautiful view, which made our stay even more special and relaxing. Overall, it was a memorable getaway for all of us, and we’re already looking forward to coming back again. Highly recommended for families!

This hotel lobby facing the ocean super relaxing. A lot of parking available at TANJUNG POINT, kindly to inform please waive the parking fee at RECEPTION COUNTER. This hotel lobby available DETOX water for FREE... LOVE IT❤️ LOVE THE ROOM 201❤️ facing the ROAD not too noisy EXCEPT the motorbikes bangggg bangggg banggg🙄 Room, towels, bedsheets all clean clean. Would recommend housekeeping during cleaning the room wear the hair net cap for more hygiene. Restaurant very clean! F&B staff very friendly and professional. BREAKFAST average a lot of food and fruit it's repeat second day NO MOOD to eat. FOR your info: the beach it's a public beach NOT a PRIVATE BEACH. The cleanness may be NOT as you expected coz every day the ocean have high tide and low tide very hard to clean the beach.

Everything are perfect, spacious & modern. Huge working table, I would recommend take facing the stadium for more peaceful rest. 2 things to improve: offer more pillows option, the default are too soft to my liking. Second, the huge glass table no mouse friendly & get smuggles easily. I surely will be back again, thanks Amari team.

This hotel truly deserves a good review. I'd definitely stay here again on my next visit. **Service:** Top-notch! The hotel knew we needed to change (Penang was so hot!), and they let us check in early at 10 AM since a room was available. Water was also delivered to our room very quickly. **Location:** Super convenient. There's a 7-Eleven right next door and a shopping mall. **Accommodation Experience:** I requested a standing shower room in advance, and that's exactly what I got. The bed was quite large, and the overall feeling was spacious and clean. **Dining:** During the May Day holiday, there was about a 5-minute wait for breakfast, which was perfectly acceptable.
