Dyreparken Safarihotell
4/55 Reviews
The Dyreparken Hotel is family friendly, located 13km from Kristiansand and belongs to a zoo & fantasy park for kids. The hotel was built in 2001 and offers 51 double rooms & 107 four-bed rooms over 4 floors. The hotel is decorated with African safari items. You need a car to reach the hotel. Service is friendly. Our room was small, modestly decorated and furnished, with an acceptable twin-bed. The tiny separate bathroom had washbasin, toilet and shower. Free Wi-Fi Internet. Window can be opened. All was clean. In the ‘Safari’ restaurant an OK buffet breakfast is served: eggs, cold cuts & cheeses, bread & toast, cereals, fruit, milk & yoghurts, fruit juices & preserves, rolls & croissants, vegan & gluten free Items, water, tea & coffee. The Dyreparken hotel is fine when you fancy a stay with kids at a fantasy park and when you have a car. Otherwise, you find better options in Kristiansand.
Comfort Hotel Kristiansand

This hotel will not disappoint! The room is comfortable, a decent size, and with a comfy bed. Everything is super clean! The breakfast has a lot of variety, more than a lot of 4*s, and there was plenty of it. The best part of my experience however was the customer service. The fella who checked me in was lovely, and when I left personal belongings in my room and only realised when I was already on my way back to Denmark, Ann Margret was my saviour. She was so friendly and helpful and really put me at ease when I was absolutely panicking. Would 100% stay here again!
Farsund Fjordhotel
4/54 Reviews
I only stayed here one night after working in Farsund. The hotel is some way out of the town centre and nicely positioned to look over the fjord or get a full on view of ships that are being repaired. Check was quick and efficient, then it was an elevator ride down rather than up to the room. Inside, the room appears very dated, old fashioned furniture and fittings made it all look a bit tired. That said, it was still comfortable enough to get a good nights sleep. The restaurant area is quite pleasant, with a decent number of choices and good service. Options are limited in Farsund and this is as good a palce as any for a short stay - though not sure I'd want to holiday here.
Radisson Blu Caledonien Hotel, Kristiansand

Radisson Blu sits at the edge of the shipyard – unfortunately, it’s a container yard that sits close to the Radisson compound so a bit of an eyesore if your eye wanders westward. But look the opposite way and you can see the waters of But it also lies very near Markensgate, the pedestrianized shooping street that full of shops, malls, restaurants and bars. Markensgate on the other hand sits at the edge of the Torvet, the main square of the city. It’s also beside the famed fish market Fiskebrygga. So it’s a great location (save for the container yard). The hotel has a huge parking area, handy if you’re coming with your own car. The room we were given was on the 3rd floor and the 3rd floor rooms all have their own wide balconies with sofa set, coffee table, and swinging chair. It’s set higher than the guest room floor so you take three steps up to go outside and enjoy Kristiansand’s great weather. The 3rd floor business class rooms also have a separate seating-coffee table area that even has its own sliding door for privacy. It has a sofa bed too. The room is slightly larger than most Radissons (and that’s not including the separate alcove). There’s a proper writing desk. There are decent accent lights, large wall-mounted TV, safe, coffee machine and hot pot, and ref. My wife appreciated the safe since it was inside a pull-out cabinet so the safe door faced up, not front. Two large ceramic lamps were on each of the night stands, quite an unusual touch. There were touches of leather – the tops of the two coffee tables in the ‘living area, the tissue box, trash can, and the headboard. Also – and much appreciated – there were outlets and USB ports on the side of the night stands that fronted the bed. Temperature control was separate for both the ‘living room’ and the bedroom. There’s no carpeting but the floor is nice wooden tiles (or it looked like it anyway). If I had to complain, it would only be about the small number of TV channels. There was only BBC for news but even that was disabled for some reason. The T&B was pretty large in area with a classy shower enclosure which folded and in smoked glass. Toiletries were wall-attached dispensers, by the Norwegian cosmetics house Sprekenhus. They were pretty complete, with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the shower and hand wash and body lotion in the sink. The T&B also had a similar sliding door as the living area. Breakfast is at the same place as the evening restaurant, which is why most of the chairs and tables are large and spread apart, except for a section with small close tables and small chairs. Which would explain the soft lighting, which isn't too appropriate for breakfast. The spread is quite diverse, with lots of different cheeses, lots of breads, lots of cold cuts and fresh veggies. But unlike the Radisson Blu Atlantic in Stavanger where we came from, there was no hot coffee pot on every table nor an option to order complimentary a la carte items from a menu. There were also ve

As with most guests at this hotel, we came here for an overnight stay as part of our dinner plans at the extraordinary UNDER restaurant. Our stay was for one night 08/31/2022 to 09/01/2022. What we didn't expect was to be within walking distance to the restaurant & to have a miraculous view from our room. The staff were very accommodating with our requests, especially with knowledge of what to expect for our dining adventure. Upon arrival we were greeted with friendly smiles & and easily got an upgraded room facing UNDER from our bedroom. The view along made our initial long drive to this small coastal city worth the effort. We were also gifted two tickets to see the famous lighthouse, which sits at the very southern most tip of Norway. The hotel restaurant is a hidden gem and the lunch we had felt local, fresh and with so much flavor. We look forward to coming back with other friends who are curious about the entire experience. Until next time!! - Jamie & Chan

By The Looks of The pictures of The hotel I was looking foreward to testing This hotel but I was very dissapointed. I had two stays at The hotel and I am not comming back. The rooms are In desperat need of renovations and the cleaning is well under par. I found pieces of chips on the floor, hair on the bed and half of the bed looked like someone had been laying down in it. The front desk staff is nice but the rooms are awful and extremely warm during summer months, forcing you to sleep with open windows. And the birds of kristiansand is having a party outside your window all night making it impossible to sleep. Shower was so dirty I didn’t want to use it. Bathroom very small and dust balls laying around all over the room. I could not wait to change hotels. The good thing about the hotel is that it is very central right next to marken.
