"Booked this during the rainy season for just over 300 [currency unit], which is excellent value for money. I was very happy with the room assignment; high floor with a great view, and even though it's street-facing, it wasn't noisy. The facilities were excellent. The area nearby is a well-established residential neighborhood, not overly touristy, which is perfect for experiencing local life."

"The room was a bit small, and with my luggage under the TV, the walkway became even narrower. You really had to watch your step getting in and out; I accidentally bumped into the corner of the TV cabinet and ended up with a huge, painful bruise on my arm. My room, 806, was an end room right next to a storage closet. I was too lazy to ask for a change, but light sleepers should be cautious. A plus is the lobby on the first floor, where you can have tea and relax, and there's self-service luggage storage. Toothbrushes are provided, but I strongly advise bringing your own – I ended up buying a new one from the supermarket because the bristles were so hard. The room also wasn't serviced during my stay. On the 6th floor, there's a laundry room, an ice machine, and a microwave. Kyoto Station isn't far from the hotel, but the first time I followed navigation, it felt a bit convoluted. It's actually about an 8-10 minute walk. Kyoto Station is huge, with JR lines, subways, and various other trains, and just looking at the signs can be dizzying. It's much faster to ask the staff for directions."

"This hotel has many advantages. First and foremost, the service attitude is absolutely fantastic. The staff were incredibly proactive and helpful during check-in and whenever we needed assistance. The cleanliness was excellent. We stayed for three days, and while they didn't do a full clean every day, someone came by daily to empty the trash, replace towels, and do a quick tidy of the bathroom. Our travel schedule was so tight that we didn't have time to enjoy the public areas, but the design looked very impressive. The biggest surprise about the hotel was its surroundings – there were so many beautiful cherry blossoms nearby! There's a small park right next door with a few trees in stunning full bloom. A little further back is the Shimogamo River area, with more beautiful cherry blossoms lining both banks, and very few people. It's about a 15-20 minute walk to Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine. If I had to mention a drawback, while Jujo Station offers convenient transportation, there aren't many dining options directly around it. There's a Lawson and two restaurants opposite the hotel, but for more choices, you'll need to walk about 5 minutes or so. However, it's precisely because it's not in the absolute city center that you can enjoy such a comfortable space. Overall, it offers great value for money!"

"We wanted a hotel in Gion with a public bath/onsen and Kyoto Granbell fit the bill. Originally we booked a moderate twin 18m2 but I was worried it would be too small so we upgraded to the Japanese twin 22sq meters and it was exactly what we wanted. The room was spacious and felt very comfortable. We had enough room to spread out and it feel like we were on top of each other. The lobby area is great with free coffee and snacks & wifi. We didn’t do breakfast but it looked good. I used the onsen every day and it was great! Fully stocked with shampoo, lotion, q tips, cotton pads, water station. Small but functions and very beautiful. The location was the best! Two doors down from En en for great Gyoza, 5 min walk to Hiniku to come, around the block from Pizza Stada, and a couple blocks from the bus station & the Main Street in Gion. Staff were lovely & spoke pretty good English. Comparable to Coutryard Marriott. Highly recommend. Would stay again."

"Kyoto Century Hotel was one of our favorite hotels during our trip to Japan. We upgraded to one of the Kyoto-style rooms, and it was absolutely worth it. The room was incredibly spacious—especially by Japan standards—and beautifully designed with traditional touches. One of our favorite features was the enormous king-size bed. It felt exceptionally large and was incredibly comfortable. The room also featured a tatami living area, so we removed our shoes before entering, which made the space feel authentic, cozy, and relaxing. The bathroom was another highlight. It was much larger than we expected, with plenty of room to move around, making it feel more like a luxury hotel than a typical city hotel. The breakfast buffet was good, though not the highlight of our stay. There was a decent variety of options, the coffee was very good, and it was a nice way to start the day. The location is another major advantage, with Kyoto Station just a short walk away, making it easy to explore the city and travel to other destinations. Overall, I highly recommend Kyoto Century Hotel, especially if you're able to upgrade to one of the Kyoto-style rooms. The spacious accommodations, traditional design, comfortable bed, and convenient location made it a memorable stay."

"The largest room we’ve stayed in during our Japan trip. We absolutely loved it. We selected the Premium Deluxe room for the space as we wanted to rest well in Kyoto and got tired of the small rooms in Tokyo. The bed is the most comfortable bed I’ve slept in, and the bathroom is spacious. I would recommend the Premium Deluxe for people who have more budget and want to rest well. 10/10 would stay here again."

"The hotel is located in Kiyomizu Gojo. Coming from Osaka, take the Keihan Line to Kiyomizu Gojo Station, exit 4, and the hotel is right across the street. However, the Special Express doesn't stop here; you'll need to transfer to a Semi-Express or local train at Sanjo. I originally booked this hotel hoping to be near the Kamo River for a morning stroll. While this section of the Kamo River in Gojo is less crowded, the scenery around Shijo Kawaramachi is much more beautiful for photos. The biggest convenience of this hotel is its proximity to Kiyomizu-dera Temple, Yasaka Shrine, and that area. It's only a 15-minute walk to Kiyomizu-dera and about 20 minutes to Hanamikoji. Getting to Takashimaya via the subway is also very easy, just a few stops. The hotel facilities are comprehensive, and the room easily accommodates two large suitcases without feeling cramped. The breakfast is worth the price, and all the staff are warm and friendly. They were always helpful when I asked them to call a taxi or borrow an umbrella, which made for a great experience. If you're tired from sightseeing, you can enjoy the onsen; the pool isn't large, but it's not overly crowded. Overall, it was a good experience, and I would consider booking this hotel again next time."
