I booked an accessible room, and it was genuinely spacious. It's really comfortable to stay in a 35 sqm room in Japan. There was a slight odor when I first entered the room, but it cleared up after I turned on the air purifier. Downside: The soundproofing isn't great. Upside: Everything else is a plus. The location is excellent. There's an airport shuttle right downstairs, which costs 1000 yen and goes directly to the airport. There are frequent services, almost hourly. Location: Whether you're going to the airport, Takamatsu Port for island hopping, or the JR station, everything is within walking distance. It's a 12-minute walk to Takamatsu Port, which was perfect for our island-hopping itinerary. Mitsukoshi department store is just a few minutes' walk from the hotel, and it has an LV store with plenty of stock. There are also many choices for drugstores, restaurants, and cafes. The room was cleaned daily. One time, I forgot to hang the 'please clean' sign and thought it wouldn't be done, but when I returned to the room, it felt completely refreshed, which was a lovely surprise. I forgot to take photos of the room, so I've included a picture of the beautiful blue sea and sky instead.

Had an amazing stay at JR Hotel Clement Takamatsu. Everything about this hotel deserves a perfect score. The rooms were spotlessly clean and well-maintained. The location is incredibly convenient — right next to Takamatsu Station, making it super easy to explore the city and nearby attractions like Ritsurin Garden. The service was top-notch from check-in to check-out. Staff were friendly, professional, and always willing to help. The amenities were impressive as well — comfortable beds, great facilities, and everything you’d expect from a high-quality hotel. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Takamatsu. Will definitely be staying here again on our next trip!

Located in the heart of the bustling commercial district, the hotel boasts elegant Art Deco decor. The front desk staff who checked me in spoke English, and interestingly, on my check-out day, both front desk agents spoke Chinese. The room's furniture and lighting subtly exuded an old-money aesthetic, feeling natural and effortlessly sophisticated.

I went with a plan with breakfast and dinner! The sauna was hotter than I expected, and the cold bath was also very well equipped! I also had a drink I ordered around the pool ✨ Supper and breakfast were delicious with Instagram! The price was reasonable, so it became a hotel I wanted to visit again!

Great service in a large Japanese Tradional Onsen hotel. Minutes from the famous Kompira Shrine , room is spacious with great facilities, the outdoor Onsen is good but provide no views. Hotel has free car parking in an area some distance away, though shuttle are free.

This hotel is at a very convenient location in Takamatsu. Walking distance to JR station and Castle Park, the airport bus is also just across the street. This breakfast of this hotel is optional but its of goof quality with both Japanese and Western Option. Will recommend

This is my third time staying at this hotel, and this time I stayed for four nights. The open-air bath was clean and very comfortable, and the sauna was also very good. Our room was cleaned every day, and we were very satisfied with the careful work. I used the restaurant last time, and the breakfast buffet had a wide variety of items and everything was delicious, and the Japanese food was also very good. It was a satisfying stay at a reasonable price. I would like to stay again. Thank you.

Facilities: public bath, toilet and basin in the room to wash, bathroom downstairs on the first floor Hygienic: The interior of the room is very clean, but it is inconvenient to take a bath Environment: It is a bit difficult to find in a corner. The residential building is separated from the interior of the room. There is also a small bar inside. Similar to the bar and the front desk of the room, the door is opened, and the first floor and second floor of the room are available. Service: The boss is a young man who communicates very well in Japanese and English, and communication is barrier-free

The hotel is good and matches its price category. The rooms are spacious, new, and comfortable. The staff is friendly, and everything is automated – they've moved from physical keys to QR and PIN codes. If I'm ever lucky enough to visit Shodoshima again, I'd try to stay at this hotel once more. Now, about why the rating isn't 5/5: if you're unlucky and get a room like mine on the 2nd floor, your balcony offers a wonderful view of the road and its traffic, which is a slight discrepancy from the photos. The balcony railings could also be lower. I understand safety comes first (especially with free drinks at the lobby bar), but the hotel emphasizes room views, and when you're sitting in chairs on the balcony, you're looking through a grate – which isn't very comfortable. The breakfast doesn't have the largest selection of dishes, but to be fair, each item is tasty and commendable. I also visited the hotel restaurant for dinner. In my opinion, it would be better to change the menu to something they are masters at. The beef paella had well-cooked rice, but the beef itself was tough in places and generally quite bland. The burrata with fruit was drier than you'd expect, and there wasn't enough olive oil, salt, and pepper – which is strange for an island known for its olives. Perhaps they could add more, or provide salt, oil, and pepper with the dish so guests can season to their taste. The olive oil ice cream with salt and black pepper had the same issue as the burrata – it felt like the spices were stolen, yet they are the essence of this dish.

GGuest UserThe room is spacious and comfortable, with wet and dry separation. It is rare that the hot spring hotel room is also equipped with a separate shower room. The hotel is relatively elegant overall, the hot springs are comfortable, and the banquet cuisine and buffet breakfast are also good.

AAnonymous UserIt is at a very convenient location near Takamatsu Port, JR station and Kotoden station, so it is a good starting point for attractions around Kagawa prefecture. There are restaurants nearby but supermarkets are somehow a bit far away. Independent socket, lighting and curtains are available to provide privacy for dorm bed users. Temperature in the dorm room was ok but the toilet was a bit cold in early morning.

SSunflower_yemeiziShuttle Service: When booking accommodations, there were only two ways to arrange a shuttle, and for some reason, my email only linked to a very old address I rarely use. My messages went unanswered. I also tried calling from other cities in Japan, but an automated Japanese voice service picked up. Thankfully, at JR Kotohira Station, there was an Information counter. A young, helpful service attendant who spoke simple English immediately called the hotel for me when she heard where I was staying. The car arrived in about 5 minutes. The shuttle driver, a slightly chubby young man with glasses, spoke excellent English. He was quite chatty and humorous, making the ride enjoyable. He also recommended a famous local udon restaurant and advised that climbing to the top of Konpira-san Shrine would take at least 2.5 hours (definitely allow more time if you want to look around carefully and take photos). Luggage Storage: We arrived at the hotel at 11 AM, dropped off our luggage, and headed straight for a meal before ascending Konpira-san. Upon returning to the hotel, our luggage had already been delivered directly to our room. Room: We booked a bit late, but for this price, in other major Japanese cities, you'd only get a quarter of the space. My friend commented that she could finally spread out her suitcase and organize her belongings. There was also a dressing room/vanity, though the lighting was a bit dim. In the evenings, we enjoyed tea on the balcony, which was a very pleasant spot to relax and enjoy the view. Our room offered a direct view of the hotel garden and pond, a wonderful experience. Restaurant: When booking, I chose the hotel's ”Sanuki Santoku” (Three Treasures of Sanuki) dining plan. The waiter escorted us to a table with a great view and explained each dish. The food was delicious, and I was absolutely stuffed (I have a small appetite). Most of the service staff appeared to be of Indian descent. Other Features: 1) I really loved the public lounge. In the evenings, the spacious design and soft lighting created a wonderful ambiance. It was very atmospheric to sit and slowly savor coffee/champagne (complimentary). 2) Our accommodation included one complimentary 45-minute private onsen session on the same floor as the lounge. It had a sofa and drinks, but only one shower stall, so if there were multiple people, we'd have to take turns. For me, the time was too short, and the water temperature wasn't as high as in the public bath. 3) The public bath had two pools. A smaller one outdoors, where the water was quite hot, and a sauna room, which was also very hot! I personally preferred the public bath.

HhontravelThe hostel is convenient within 5 minutes walk from Kawaramachi Station. (Because the railway passes in front of the dormitory, the noise of the train from the first car to the last car will continue to be heard, so please avoid sensitive people) there is an izakaya next to the dormitory, and there is a convenience store for Lawson. In the dormitory, the staff provide free ice cream during the working hours, please refer to it. When I went, there was a Korean staff, so it was easy to ask and receive guidance. The dormitory is separated from the mixed room for women, but the noise is all heard. There's a circle inside the dormitory private bed. The outlet has a basic two-ball outlet on the wall. The temperature inside the room was comfortable and the shower booth was also good and the water pressure was good and I used it without any difficulty. Basically, one towel is provided and in the shower room Body shower, shampoo and conditioner are available, and other amenities can be brought with you or purchased for a fee. I found a place near the airport bus on the last day of my trip after my trip to the suburbs.
