My review is more about trip.com in itself rather than the hotel. In retrospect, I should have booked the same hotel from a different website.
The room description is confusing. I thought I reserved a twin room. It turned out to be a single room with one bed and an additional strange ( bed?).
We took the shuttle bus from Oirase Keiryu Hotel and arrived at Hoshino Resorts Aomoriya around noon. After checking in our luggage, we took a stroll in the hotel's surrounding park, which even has a footbath for guests to relax tired feet. In the evening, we attended the Nebuta Festival event. The food here was more varied than at Oirase, and the service was excellent, as always. It's a fantastic hotel.
This hotel is right next to the ski resort. The snow quality is excellent, and on a clear day, you can even see Hokkaido across the Sea of Japan from the summit. It seems that over half of the guests are international visitors.
I didn't encounter a single foreign guest who was loud or bothersome.
The staff all appear to speak both English and Chinese.
While the variety at the buffet might be a bit limited, they do ensure it's always replenished. The food is tasty. Disposable slippers are provided, but they're very thin, so you feel the cold directly. I saw many people who had brought their own flip-flops.
I stayed in a twin room (with a unit bath).
The hotel was very clean and the room was nice. The area near the entrance was spacious, making it easy to carry in luggage. The TV was large, so I was able to rest comfortably.
The only downside is that the toilets are small, so I'm hesitant to recommend this hotel to my overseas friends. Also, although there was a parking lot nearby, I had a bit of trouble finding it. As for the food, the photos on the website looked delicious, so I booked breakfast, but I didn't have time and couldn't eat it, so I'd like to go next time.
This is really a great hotel. Staff are all nice, hotel’s facility is also good. Free drink and snacks are available in hotel lounge. Highly recommended to anyone who planned to tour in Aomori!
Lake Towada in winter doesn't have many attractions; abandoned houses are everywhere, giving it a somewhat desolate feel… The hotel facilities are good, providing travel-sized shampoo, shower gel, and skincare products. The rooms also have hot and cold water dispensers (very convenient for making instant noodles). The public bath is only indoors, there's no open-air bath. The rooms are clean, suggesting recent renovations.
The worst part was the dinner. Dinner was at the hotel's sushi restaurant, but the entire meal consisted of only one appetizer (a very small dish), one miso soup, and 10 pieces of sushi. Even for women with small appetites, it wasn't enough. There aren't any convenience stores in the surrounding lake area, so if you get hungry at night, you can only buy frozen food from the hotel's vending machines, but the prices aren't cheap at all… Although the hotel provides each guest with a mini instant noodle for a late-night snack, that mini instant noodle is truly tiny; I bet it would only last three bites!
Therefore, I strongly advise everyone staying at this hotel to bring your own food.
It's best to be prepared for power outages. Public toilets and water rooms are standard features of traditional Japanese B&Bs. The Japanese breakfast is good. Please note that the check-in time is before 9 pm. If you can't arrive, be sure to contact the owner in advance. The B&B is on the mountain, so be careful when driving at night. There are no street lights.
The location is fantastic, right by the JR station. This was incredibly convenient given the heavy snow in Hirosaki, as I didn't have to drag my luggage far. The hotel was clean and tidy, and the front desk service was excellent. It's also very close to Hirosaki Castle, within walking distance or you can catch a bus right outside. There's even a direct bus to Morioka from the front of the hotel, which I'd consider for my next trip – super convenient without having to take the Shinkansen!
Facilities: The room had a very traditional Japanese feel, and the window view was absolutely stunning!
Environment: It's located right where the bus drops you off, literally right in front of the hotel.
Service: All the staff were older, white-haired individuals, but their service was excellent.
On the downside, the food was quite bad 😂. Dinner was really unappetizing, so I skipped breakfast altogether.
Very Good

GGuest UserBreakfast and dinner are divided into Japanese and Western styles. Dinner is very ceremonial, especially French food. The hotel is very close to the ski resort and Suantang Hot Spring, and there is a shuttle bus. The restaurant has a good view. It is very pleasant to sit in the warm restaurant, drink hot coffee, and look at the snow outside.
NNoriko ShimoThe tea and coffee service for the meal are delicious and surprised. I thought the service was very good for the price.
It was a surprise even though the futon was laid. Very happy. It was a service that I wanted to dive as it was.
The bath is far away, but the morning bath is very beautiful and amazing. I was able to spend a leisurely time.
Also, I knew that there were 33 lakes in the poster in the building, and I went around the next day. There was a good response.
I think it is a good hotel for the price.
野野明爵士A very sincere family-run hot spring hotel. The hostess is the mother and the son is the boss. They are both very enthusiastic and attentive. The hospitality is top-notch and full of warmth. There is a small corridor in the side hall for free flow after 5 o'clock😎 Various alcoholic drinks and my favorite Aomori apple juice. The boss played the shamisen to entertain everyone. The atmosphere was very comfortable and relaxing. The breakfast and dinner were very rich. The local cuisine was fresh and delicious. Free flow continued 🤣 The room was very spacious and clean. I slept very well. The large bath will not disappoint. I slept until dawn after taking a bath. The three-day and two-night stay was really comfortable.
