"The location is excellent, very close to my favorite restaurant. The front desk staff was lovely, communicating with me in Chinese, which I really appreciated. It made checking in a very pleasant experience. They upgraded my room, and it was quite spacious with a view of the courtyard. Most importantly, I had booked breakfast for two days but only ate it once. When I went to cancel the second day's breakfast, they didn't charge me for it! I only realized this when checking out and double-checked – they confirmed it was complimentary. I'm very grateful for that. The pool was beautiful, but Barcelona in July is just too hot. I could only enjoy an iced coffee on the rooftop, taking in the views, including the Sagrada Familia. Now for the minor drawbacks: it doesn't quite feel like a five-star hotel. For over 4000 (RMB) for two nights, there's definitely room for improvement. Personally, I think a true five-star experience should be more like the Park Hyatt Shenzhen. On my second morning, I left the card on the bed requesting a change of sheets and duvet covers. However, when I returned, I found they hadn't actually been changed, which was a little disappointing. I saw on Xiaohongshu that they provide instant noodles, but there weren't any in my room. The room itself wasn't particularly refined; it had a slightly worn, ”battle-damaged” look."

"A fantastic 4-star hotel! While not in the city center, it's incredibly convenient for commuting, with bus and metro stations nearby. The hotel's facilities are very modern, the staff provides excellent service, and the environment is lovely. On the first day, we received complimentary welcome mineral water and two drink vouchers. "The breakfast on the 7th floor was just amazing. They had an incredible selection of fresh local foods that were wonderful to eat as you enjoyed the morning view. The room was very spacious, larger than most. The bathroom was also very roomy with a huge shower enclosure. The shower itself was very nice. The rooms did not have any carpet, which was different, but allowed the rooms to be really clean. Despite being on the 1st floor only one level above the street, there was no noise. Our room had windows across one side the entire room, but we slept all night with no issues. They do have heavy curtains that you pull over that block all light."

"Great hotel! Great staff, both at reception and at breakfast!!! Very welcoming!!!! The only downside is the deposit, which isn't refunded immediately. I paid in advance online, but they require it upon check-in. And they don't charge for breakfast with the deposit; you have to pay again. I haven't received my deposit yet, which is inconvenient!"

"The room was surprisingly clean and there was no bad smell. In the winter, there may only be a few rooms occupied by guests in the entire hotel, but it is actually very quiet and comfortable. The hotel restaurant is okay, you can try traditional dishes. There wasn't even a kettle or water in the room, so I had to go to the bar to buy it. You can have tea and some wine at the bar. The sunset is so beautiful. There are really few shops open in the town in winter, and even having a meal and buying bread has to be done during lunch and dinner. The only advantage is that you can take photos at will without anyone seeing you."

Kaktus Hotel Kaktus Playa - Adults Recommended

A short stay for of 2 days was booked with Triip.com for one adult and 2 children under 10, to join us who were booked in a day earlier for three days. Our three day booking was direct with the hotel, half board. The hotel is marked 'adults recommended' and they sure discourage children, by seeking to charge per occupancy rather than simply on a cost per room. The Trip site quite fairly offered the room at the rate for two adults, with children under 12 free, so this is what was paid. Half board was added but at the rate for two adults, which would be greater than the actual hotel rate for one adult and two children, but I was happy to have reserved restaurant secured. Things got messy at check in, the hotel insisting that the room was occupied by three 'persons' as they put it and should therefore be 50% extra, though the room was the same type as the twin we had for two adults. The Hotel also insisted that only breakfast was provided, and tried to argue that the B2B rate from the third party (Trip) was insufficient. I politely pointed out that the discounts provided to third party agents was no concern of the customer, and referred to my booking voucher which clearly stated I had booked a twin room, into which was going 1 adult, two very small children, and that breakfast and dinner was paid for, with the rate for 1 adult being greater than twice the local charge for a child. They were impossible to deal with, and I left the reception angry and upset. I contacted the Trip representative and by that evening it was sorted. Full marks to Trip, zero to the hotel. As for our stay, the hotel is excellent, but with room to improve. Dinner in the Buffet only commences at 8.00, resulting in quite the bunfight if the restaurant is busy. It was on that Thursday, a national holiday, and it was impossible to order wine and beverages after we seated, with a single service person taking orders. We ate our food dry, and finally placed an order for wine and water while eating dessert, some 40 minutes after seating. The same bottleneck occurred the next morning at breakfast, with the four snail paced Nespresso machines totally incapable of dealing with the coffee demands. Worse, all 4 machines overheated and went into 'service mode'. Worse again, these obviously unsuitable barista machines were the only source of hot water for Tea or infusions, but with no seperate hot water dispenser faucet. You had to stand for almost 2 minutes while the machine slowly dispensed through the coffee outlet, a single mug of hot water, to the frustration of the queue behind. This needs sorting, it took ages to get a breakfast beverage every morning, and on the second day I had to return 4 floors to my room and fill my cup from the in room Nespresso maker. I'd advise to bring a travel kettle with you. Otherwise, a fine hotel, but the restaurant problems and discriminatory pricing for children are an issue, so not a hotel for children.

Absolutely loved my stay there, the staff was so nice and welcoming. My room was small but I didn't need more space - the bed was double and very comfy and I had my own bathroom (pretty big in comparison) with lots of towels, fresh soap and tubes of showering gel (I travelled lightly so it was welcomed) so what else can one need. I loved the included breakfasts and the breakfast timeslot (from 8 to 12 - take notes all you other hotels out there!). There was a lot of variety for the price so IMO the food should satisfy most of the folks - I liked chorizo and cured ham, the wide selection of vegetables, the bread and croissants, and last but not least, the coffee was, pardon my expression, pretty damn good for a two star hotel. Tea was very ordinary in comparison but still okay. Having a kettle and a fridge in my room was super convenient. Wifi and tv quality was great. The walls aren't thick so when there's more guests it can get noisy - which didn't happen often to me but I can imagine how it can be during the high season - but that's a problem in most hotels all over the world. People are noisy animals, most of them. So if you are easily irritated etc consider taking & using earplugs, I guess. There were only two real downsides, let's say one and a half because only one was serious. My room was a bit too warm for my taste and when I realized that opening the window doesn't help, I tried using the air conditioning - which didn't work. I tried all the options, and the cooling mode made the room warmer instead of cooler. Which was a bummer. I didn't report that to the staff, since it wasn't a big issue for me at the moment - I spent most of my time outside the hotel anyway and came back at night when it was much cooler. But I can imagine it becoming a serious problem during the regular season in the summer or later in the spring. Air conditioning in a place like Tossa is essential, so yeah, better fix that ASAP, Turissa. Another thing, very minor this time, was that the cleaning lady who goes in to your room every day has a habit of straightening out the sheets on the bed every time. Yeah, like she did that every single day, lol. I mean I'm not that picky... Are you guys that picky (whoever reads this) ? Just leave it be and save yourself the work, lady, because you know it's gonna be a mess the next day, and the next, and the next - so it's like fighting windmills - unless your name is Donna Quixote, this is something uncalled for. But you know guys, if that's the only complaint one can make about the hotel, then you know Turissa is more than alright. Amiright or amiright guys;) Wish I could stay longer. PS: Oh and there's a pool for the guests, too. I didn't really have time to use (we were more excited dipping our toes in the sea anyway) it but I could watch it every day from the cantina when having my breakfast. Nice!

I had an amazing 7 days and 6 nights stay at Ohla Barcelona. From the moment I arrived, it completely exceeded my expectations. Beyond being a beautiful five-star hotel with a rooftop pool, gym, rooftop bar, and a Michelin one-star restaurant, what truly impressed me was the warmth of the service and the genuine focus on guest experience. Even before arriving, I received thoughtful emails from their Experience Team — and yes, they actually call it the Experience Team — asking if there was anything I needed ahead of check-in. It immediately made the stay feel personal and intentional. Upon checking in, guests are welcomed with free-flow bubbly from Barcelona, trays of chocolates, and a hospitality team that genuinely makes you feel cared for. The hotel also has its own app where you can request amenities, special pillows, support pillows, and other essentials conveniently. There is also a dedicated concierge/help desk that gives excellent recommendations for dining and things to do around the city. The location is another huge highlight. The hotel sits directly across from Palau de la Música Catalana, and within walking distance to the Barcelona Cathedral and the Gothic Quarter, where every street and building feels layered with history and character. It’s the perfect place to slow down, wander through the Gothic streets, and eventually make your way toward El Born for dinner. Even when heading further out to places like Sagrada Família, Casa Batlló, or Casa Milà, everything is only a short taxi ride away, which made the stay incredibly convenient. I also appreciated the well-equipped gym and sauna, which allowed me to maintain my workout routine while travelling. One of the nicest touches was the turndown service every evening. There were always handwritten notes waiting for us, along with chocolates, little surprises, complimentary pictorial books about Barcelona, and even bottles of wine in the room. None of it felt performative or overly scripted. The warmth felt sincere and heartfelt. Design-wise, the hotel strikes a beautiful balance between old and new Barcelona. From the exterior, you still see the classic architectural curves and aged character of the city, while inside, the interiors are dark, modern, contemporary, and thoughtfully designed. Cozy rooms, elegant marble finishes, and a global design sensibility that would appeal to travellers who appreciate aesthetics, comfort, and detail. The breakfast buffet was also excellent, and every member of the staff always seemed ready to help and serve with genuine hospitality. I truly enjoyed my stay here, and if I return to Barcelona, I would absolutely stay here again. Easily one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at in Spain, if not the best.

The hotel has a good location, with many restaurants nearby and several metro lines. It's within walking distance of the Palau de la Música, the Gothic Quarter, Casa Batlló, and Casa Milà. The hotel rooms aren't large, but they're acceptable. The bathroom, while small, is functional. The king-size bed is made of two double beds pushed together, and the bedding is comfortable. Breakfast starts at 7:30 AM. If you have plans for the morning, you can book a room without breakfast. However, the hotel breakfast is quite substantial, including freshly squeezed orange juice, various cheeses and breads, and marinated salmon. On our last day, we had to catch a train and didn't have time for breakfast, so we told the restaurant in advance, and they prepared takeaway breakfast boxes for us to eat on the train. This hotel, like the one we stayed at in Madrid, is part of the 'Catalonia Hotels and Resorts' group, and we had a very good experience with both.

The check in experience was so horrible. After I presented my passport to the receptionists (3 guys) in hotel front desk, they kept requesting me to show the boarding pass of my cancelled flight. If i could not show it, they don’t allow me to check in. I argued with them why I have to show my boarding pass and how can I have boarding pass if my flight is cancelled. They insisted I have to show, otherwise I could not check in. Their attitudes were so rude and I spent almost 40 min to show all documents I have on-hand, then they gave me my room key. The room assigned to me is not so comfortable because it is on ground floor without window facing outside streets. I don’t think it is tourist friendly at all.
