Hotel near Mingsha Mountain and Crescent Moon Spring,Dunhuang
The Silk Road Dunhuang Hotel (Dunhuang Shanzhuang) is the most luxurious accommodation option in town. Located just outside of town, this hotel has a large range of rooms from standard to suites and villas.A little inconvenient for travelers interested in spending most of their time in downtown Dunhuang, the hotel does have plenty of amenities and entertainment rooms to keep their guests entertained. There is a shuttle bus that runs to and from town.

"I hesitated a bit when booking, as it's an old hotel that's been open for 30 years. However, my stay far exceeded expectations. I really admire the grand architectural design from 30 years ago. The service was excellent, and the food was both delicious and affordable. The in-room amenities were very thoughtful, even including sunscreen and a foot bath. The bedding was also incredibly comfortable. I'd give it a 5-star recommendation. I'm deducting half a star because the room was a bit small."

"We upgraded to a tent room, and it was incredibly clean and hygienic. All the toiletries, bath towels, and hand towels were single-use, which was very reassuring. What's truly worth mentioning is the water pressure – the shower was surprisingly powerful, making showering an absolute delight! The water pressure in the city hotels we stayed in the following days couldn't compare to this glamping site. The environment is simply fantastic, offering the quiet solitude of the entire desert. The ATV desert buggy ride takes you to a high peak, which is perfect for amazing photos. Sandboarding was a blast for the kids, and the travel photography captured the beauty of the whole beach without the crowds. Plus, the butler service was excellent – they responded promptly to all our questions and were always available, which was wonderful. Just a heads-up: it can get windy at night, and the tent makes some noise. I was a bit scared at first, but I eventually got used to it. For first-timers, you can sleep soundly; don't worry like I did! 😄"

"The Dunhuang Night Market is right across the street, literally just a zebra crossing away, which is super convenient. If you're into nightlife, this is definitely your top pick. The room is quite spacious, and the design is very photogenic. Besides the bed, there's a sofa that feels big enough to lie on. The floor-to-ceiling windows offer a distant view of Mingsha Mountain. This is a large building, with food courts and restaurants on the 4th and 5th floors, making food delivery very easy. The mini-bar has delicious apricot peel tea, which was a nice touch. It would be even better if breakfast buffet was included in the stay in the future."

At the foot of DanxiaMountain Here's the Kaoshan Tent Where you can enjoy good drinks And merry winth friends At night the moon and stars color your dreams; At dawn the sunrise feasts your eyes Oh, what a beautiful life At the lovely tent

"After comparing several accommodations for my trip to Zhangye Danxia, I chose Kaoshan Daying (Back Mountain Camp). The Starry Sky Yurt was what truly captivated me, and my entire stay exceeded expectations – highly recommended! Location-wise, the camp is right next to the West Gate of the Danxia scenic area, making travel incredibly convenient. No need for roundabout detours; I could step out early in the morning to catch the Danxia sunrise. This fantastic location also saved me a lot of effort when it came to stargazing at night. Now, let's talk about the Starry Sky Yurt. Before I arrived, I was a bit worried about roughing it in a tent out in the wilderness, but my stay completely changed my mind. The yurt was spotlessly clean and tidy, well-ventilated with no strange odors. The bed was soft and comfortable, and despite the large temperature swings in the Gobi Desert between day and night, the interior was well-insulated and never felt cold or damp. The en-suite bathroom was excellent, with 24-hour hot water and a full range of toiletries. It truly offered a luxurious wilderness experience that blended comfort with ambiance, without compromising on daily conveniences. However, the panoramic skylight at the top of the yurt was the real highlight and the biggest surprise of my trip. The camp is far from the city, meaning almost no light pollution. As night fell, the entire sky was unblocked and spread out above me. I didn't even have to step outside into the wind; I could lie in bed and gaze up at the countless stars. The Milky Way stretched clearly across the mountains, with stars so bright and dense – a magnificent night sky rarely seen in the city. Lying there quietly, watching the celestial river flow and listening to the distant Gobi breeze, all my travel fatigue slowly melted away. It was incredibly romantic and healing. The camp's amenities were also very thoughtful. In the evening, you can enjoy a starlit BBQ and hotpot. After dinner, there's a bonfire party. Then, after a stroll, you return to your yurt to continue enjoying the tranquil starry sky. The self-driving parking area is spacious, and RV resupply facilities are comprehensive. The staff were warm and meticulous in their service; they thoughtfully informed me of the best stargazing times and were always on hand to help with any issues. The unique Danxia mountain light show at night, coupled with the vast starry sky, created a multi-layered and stunning view. The special clear-broth suoyang hotpot was authentic and generously portioned, perfect for a hot meal after a day of exploring. Whether you're traveling as a couple or with friends, the Starry Sky Yurt is an exceptionally suitable choice. You can admire the Danxia landforms up close and immerse yourself in lying under the Milky Way – it perfectly combines natural beauty with comfortable accommodation. This is an unmissable gem when visiting Danxia, and I will definitely choose the Starry Sky Yurt again on my next trip to Zhangye."

The Tianzhu International Hotel is an ideal spot for travelers wanting to discover the city. The Tianzhu International Hotel offers a pleasant stay in Xiahe for those traveling for business or leisure. The hotel is located approximately 62km from Gannan Xiahe Airport. The nearest airport is Gannan Xiahe Airport, approximately 62km away. Guests will find Labrang Monastery, Xiahe Cultural Center and Labrang Sky Burial Platform just a short distance from the hotel. This hotel makes a great place to kick back and relax after a long day of sightseeing. This Xiahe hotel offers parking on site. Our guests rate this hotel as one of the best hotels for cleanliness. This hotel is a popular accommodation for guests traveling with families.

"Probably the largest hotel in Xiahe. It's a short walk to Labrang Monastery. There's no air conditioning, which might be because it doesn't get hot here in the summer. They said they had floor heating, but it wasn't turn-on yet when we checked in, and it got a bit chilly after the rain. The hotel has a restaurant, and you can order dinner, though I found it a bit pricey – I guess that's common for tourist spots. Breakfast was decent, and the cleanliness was acceptable. Overall, I didn't feel like there were any major downsides."

"I brought my parents to Dunhuang, and our family had a comfortable and peaceful stay, so I wanted to share an honest review. Before we arrived, I booked the hotel's free pick-up service. The hotel's private car was waiting for us punctually at the station. The warmth of the people in Northwest China was evident from the moment we arrived; the driver proactively helped us with our large luggage, saving my parents from having to carry heavy bags. We were smoothly transported to the hotel, without having to worry about finding a taxi. During the ride, the driver also shared travel tips for Dunhuang, which was incredibly helpful for those traveling with elderly parents. This free service offers unbeatable value for money. However, the driver did receive several calls during our ride from guests who had already arrived and needed immediate pick-up, which put him in a difficult position. I'd advise everyone to book with the hotel in advance, as it's a dedicated service, and I understand the challenges they face. Stepping into the room was a pleasant surprise. The hotel had already prepared local dried fruits and apricot tea. After a long journey, we were all parched, and my parents repeatedly praised the apricot tea. The dried fruits were generously portioned. These simple gifts showed how well the hotel understands the fatigue of travelers; their attention to detail was exceptional, and I was truly grateful. The hotel's location is truly impeccable and incredibly convenient for getting around. It's just a short walk to Shazhou Night Market, where we took my parents to explore and enjoy local specialties in the evening. Dunhuang Bookstore is also nearby, perfect for a leisurely stroll to browse books. The museum is also very close. Dunhuang's streets are clean and flat, making it safe for seniors to walk around. Although it's near a commercial area, the soundproofing in the guest rooms is excellent, so it was very quiet at night, and we slept wonderfully. The front desk staff also patiently shared local sightseeing routes. From the complimentary pick-up service and the thoughtful snacks in the room, to the convenient location and the new, well-equipped facilities, our entire experience was excellent. The attention to detail shows that this hotel genuinely considers its guests. It's suitable for solo travelers, couples, or families, and our stay was a perfect 10/10."

With the city museum, television station, municipal government, municipal public security bureau and other administrative center across the street, check in this hotel, whether it is tourism, shopping, business, government activities are very convenient.

"The hotel is super close to Jiayuguan City Sports Center, just a 700-meter walk to the start/finish line of the Jiayuguan Great Wall Marathon 🏁. The interior design has a strong Northwestern feel, and even the room key fobs are unique. The room isn't huge, but it has everything you need, and a robot delivers your takeout. The disposable slippers provided in the room are also quite distinctive; I sometimes wear them at the office when I feel anxious, telling myself: 'No worldly desires' (no offense intended, just a little abstract thought). It's comfortable and also close to Jiayuguan Airport, with accurate positioning and easy taxi access."

This is the first time I've specifically waited to review a hotel: 1. Location: Less than 10 minutes from the high-speed train station, very convenient. 2. Service: Beyond five-star service! They added me on WeChat in advance, and all the hotel staff were incredibly enthusiastic. Every detail was meticulously taken care of, from bottled water available everywhere to free laundry and drying facilities, complete with laundry detergent. In the evenings, there were complimentary sweet soups, milk, and pastries. It was so convenient when traveling with a child and ordering extra food. There were welcome gifts upon check-in and also gifts upon check-out, plus a play area for kids. An excellent hotel! 👍👍👍

This was my first stop in China and I’m so happy that I stayed in Dunhuang at Baibaili Hotel. I was looked after so well, the hospitality of the staff extended many times for several necessities and I’m touched by their hospitality. This will for a very long time, be my remarkable first impression of China, its people and their culture. The location is perfect if you want to stay a bit further out from town and enjoy the silence of being closer to the desert and the stunning design of the place. Beautiful and comfortable room, all the final touches refined every day and after 24 hrs of travelling; a generous fruit and snack plate that grounded me sweetly into Dunhuang upon arrival and farewelled me just after mid-autumn with a beautiful moon cake. Their communication was frequent and always made sure I had what I needed. Thank you so much Baibaili

Out of our 9-day trip along the Qinghai-Gansu Loop, this homestay was our family's absolute favorite. It's a place with real heart and soul, where every detail is thoughtfully considered. Even our five-year-old said he'd give this hotel 30 stars! The homestay has a great design aesthetic, and the rooms are spotless, perfectly matching the tastes and ideas of younger travelers. We always bring our own disposable toiletries when we travel, but here, everything was already provided in the room. I also really loved the landlady – she's just one of those people you instantly like, and it was so comfortable interacting with her. From the moment we checked into the homestay in Dunhuang, we had such a positive impression of the city. Even though our stay was brief, it's full of beautiful memories. When we were leaving, she found out my child liked apricots and even gave him some from her own yard, which was incredibly touching. The breakfast offered a wide variety, and it was all very enjoyable. I truly recommend this homestay if you're coming to Dunhuang. I hope everyone gets to experience the genuine warmth and hospitality during their travels here. Their raisins are also highly recommended!

I highly recommend this hotel to those who drive to Dunhuang with their kids. It has a bathtub, which the kids love very much. The room facilities are very complete, the environment is very good, and it is not far from the attractions. Every service staff is very enthusiastic, especially the lobby manager. Yogurt is given when you check in, and plush toys are given when you check out. The kids like it very much and said they will stay here again next time. Highly recommended. Very cost-effective.

A cozy B&B by Mingsha Mountain with an amazing lamb noodle soup for breakfast! I booked this ”No. 23 Courtyard” through Trip.com in Dunhuang, and it exceeded my expectations. Definitely deserves a great review. 📍Location: It's very close to Mingsha Mountain Scenic Area, only a 7-yuan taxi ride away. Super convenient for catching both sunset and sunrise, saving a lot of travel time. 🏡Environment: There's a charming little courtyard. I had breakfast sitting under a tree one morning, and the owner and his daughter (just home for vacation) even picked some local specialty Li Guang apricots for us to try, sharing an interesting legend. Although I heard a few dog barks at night (their dog Chopper was on duty!), the owner explained it was foxes visiting, which actually added a touch of wilderness charm. 🛏️Accommodation: The room was clean and tidy, and very quiet at night. A pleasant surprise was the fully automatic, heated smart toilet. The towels were also thick, new plush ones, making for a comfortable and reassuring stay. 🍜Breakfast: It's a set menu, and I have to rave about the lamb noodle soup – fresh, delicious, and warming. The five-spice tea eggs were also very flavorful. The owner eats the same food as the guests, which shows the quality of the ingredients. 🍵Afternoon Tea: They surprisingly offer it for free, which is rare for a B&B. Big plus! Overall, it's a comfortable, clean B&B with a family-like atmosphere and great value for money. I'd definitely consider staying here again on my next trip to Dunhuang.

1. The hotel offers a complimentary airport pick-up service, and from the moment I was greeted, I could feel the staff's warm hospitality. 2. I absolutely loved the hotel's 'wild luxury' aesthetic – it's simple yet grand, with a unique and pleasant aroma. 3. The hotel's travel photography service is outstanding! I got the best set of photos I've ever had. Both the makeup artist and photographer were incredibly professional. I was instantly thrilled with the retouched photos just 5 minutes after the shoot, and even more delighted to learn they'd spend another three days on meticulous post-processing. The terrace above the lobby offers a fantastic photo op, especially with the red canopy against the desert backdrop – it's truly magnificent and a unique scene. 4. Given how dry Dunhuang is, the hotel thoughtfully provided complimentary face masks and lotion. 5. They also offered a free transfer to my next hotel.

The owner and staff are warm and friendly, always willing to go out of their way to help guests. The hotel also has a campsite on the Sangke Grassland, which offers a beautiful and tranquil environment, away from other tourists – definitely worth experiencing.
