"Arrived to a sign in reception “back at 8pm” we had to wait half an hour (24 hour reception) so after a long flight this was not good. Reception area also smelt of smoke. No lift to the second floor so an issue if you have heavy luggage. Hotel was noisy at night with people in the courtyard area very late into the night. Pool looked unmaintained and dirty. Also WiFi only worked in reception. On the plus side the hotel is in a good location and the rooms were clean and spacious and had clean bedding and towels."

"The check in experience was not good. Room was fully paid for but had to provide credit card even though I don't have one. Desk clerk made it quite clear that any damage would need to be paid for. why, because I am Aboriginal (he did not say this but it was clear in his attitude). He also mentioned about guests. for a company that makes a substantial amount of money from the Aboriginal community it is sad that you have prejudiced people welcoming guests."

Novotel Darwin Airport is located next to Darwin International Airport. It is a short drive from the Darwin Central Business District, Casuarina Square Shopping Centre, Marrara International Sports Complex, Crocodylus Park and the other major tourist attractions from the Tourism Top End. Perfectly suited for both business and leisure travellers.

"Novotel Airport Darwin is a typical airport hotel. They run an on demand shuttle to & from the airport terminal which is very handy, and only a short distance away. The rooms are simple, clean and functional. In room tea & coffee is provided, and there was fresh milk in the fridge. I opted to include breakfast in my booking, which was very good. Lots of choices, including traditional cooked breakfast, lots of bread options (some gluten free), yogurt, fruit and pastries. If you're on the run they provide take away cups for hot beverages, which is a nice touch. Overall I would happily stay here again."

"Stayed for a week and had a pretty good experience! Parking at the hotel entrance was convenient and free. Right outside is a grassy park, and the harbor bay is just a short walk away. From the hotel window, you can see playground facilities, which kept the kids entertained for a while. It's also very close to the center, just a 10-minute walk to Coles supermarket and that other green-logo supermarket. The crocodile park is also within walking distance. Just be careful of the local Indigenous people there – keep your distance!"

"Was expecting more given the price we paid, apparently already considered low season. The pool lagoon was disappointing and expected higher standards, more staff and cleanliness. Hotel restaurant food expensive unless gambling and apparently would have great discount. Room service was good and value for money. Expected small amenities like free bottled water to be more generous given the heat. Apparently just 2 bottles per check in although we stayed 2 nights . Bathroom and toiletries reasonable although bathroom door had a drum which made it inconvenient to open as door swung closed automatically .."

While the facilities aren't new, the cleanliness was impeccable, and I appreciated having a separate toilet and shower. The only amenity provided was hand soap, so I brought everything else I needed. With a restaurant and a KIOSK on-site, finding good food was never an issue. You can also use the cooking space to self-cater if you bring your own ingredients and equipment; I saw many guests who had driven there doing just that. And above all, the observation deck here is uncrowded and highly recommended! We didn't have great weather during our optional tour and missed the sunrise, so the next day we woke up early, went to this observation deck, and were rewarded with a beautiful blue sky view of Uluru. Since Uluru trips primarily involve sunrise/sunset tours and trekking, and you won't be spending much time in your room, I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking to save on accommodation costs.🤗

For me, there are several factors when it comes to reviewing a hotel. In this case, the property mainly operates as a pub and restaurant, with the hotel as more of an add-on feature. Location: 5 stars, no doubt. It’s right in the CBD, making it super convenient to walk around and access nearby places. Room: Spacious, clean, well-equipped, and facing the pool—so at least there’s a nice view. However, there are a few downsides. The rooms are not soundproof at all. Since there are live performances at the open-space pub right below from about 6–10pm, expect some noise. Even after the music ends, you can still hear people chatting downstairs. And just fyi there is no toothpaste, and indoor flip flop. Wi-Fi: This was the biggest issue. Even though I stayed in the room closest to the router (as staff mentioned) and the hotel has two networks—one for pub guests and one for hotel guests—the signal basically disappeared once I stepped into my room. My phone couldn’t connect at all unless I went outside, and while my iPad could connect, the connection kept dropping every 15–20 minutes. I had to manually reconnect each time. I’m not an IT expert, but it seems like they might be using a small-scale or shared network that struggles when too many users are online. Aside from that, everything else was fine. The staff were supportive, and both check-in and check-out were smooth—especially check-out, which was quick and hassle-free.

The room was spacious and reasonably clean. The entire resort is a small area built in the middle of the desert, so you can't expect a super 5-star experience, but it has everything you need and the facilities are complete. I'd say it's on par with some four-star hotels in China. It's inevitable to have some small insects in this kind of location, fewer in winter, but I did find a bee in the room and successfully fought it off, which is a normal occurrence. The service was good, with a 24-hour front desk, and they were very helpful and attentive in answering all sorts of questions. The two best restaurants in the resort are located within Desert Garden, so the biggest advantage of staying here is the convenience for dining.

This is the best and cleanest hotel I've ever stayed in within an Australian scenic area. Many hotels near attractions I've been to are either old, in poor condition, or overpriced. The deluxe room's facilities are new, and the design is very modern and comfortable. I believe this deluxe room is well worth the price. The hotel's service was also excellent. I checked in at noon and noticed some equipment outside my room. As soon as I mentioned it to the staff, they immediately moved me to a quiet room. The hotel restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner starting from 5:30 AM. For dinner, we ordered BBQ steak, pizza, and salad, all of which were delicious. The beer was also fragrant and tasty. The hotel even has its own observation deck where you can enjoy the magnificent view of the Kings Canyon range against the sunset. The sky, lit up by the evening glow, was especially captivating. It's only a 10-minute drive from the hotel to the start of the Kings Canyon walking trail. Waking up, having a good breakfast, and then going hiking was so easy and enjoyable. If I ever get the chance to visit Kings Canyon again, I will definitely choose to stay here.

We checked in at Oaks Elan on 21 November 2025, the day before Cyclone Fina hit Darwin. My husband and I were impressed how the staff kept us informed of what was happening. During breakfast on 22 November, we were told by the manager that the restaurant will be closed until further notice because they have to let the staff go home to be with the family when cyclone hit. We were told to pack whatever food we want from the restaurant to last us for lunch, dinner and possibly breakfast for the next day. We were glad we didn’t go hungry when there was no where to get food when everything was closed. The manager who held the fort on the day and the next day did a very superb job! He rolled up the sleeve and did everything himself when he was obviously very short staff.
