Apartments in Faro District, Portugal

The hotel is big and has several attractions, from indoor and outdoor pools and animation, gym, playground, all very good. Positive points - impeccable cleanliness, friendliness of staff, hot water, small appliances that were old but worked perfectly, cable TV with several channels. Negative points- the furniture is old, the mattresses are uncomfortable, at the reception I was attended by an inexperienced person and was being charged twice the value of the extra bed, very weak internet, we never managed to get a signal during our stay. A lot to improve for a good comfort of the guests.

The apartment we had was spacious and very clean. We had a bedroom,living area and kitchen. The kitchen had 4 burners, no oven, a microwave, kettle , toaster and coffee maker. We also had a huge balcony overlooking the pool. The pool was huge and there were lots of sunbeds. The hotel had lots of comfortable seating in the bar area as well as near reception. The cleaners came every day and did a good job. The staff were friendly and answered all our questions. The hotel is down a side street which meant you had about a 5 minute walk to get to shops and restaurants. There was a supermarket close by. It was 2 stories and had everything, Ubers were easy to get. We mostly ate in our apartment but went out to eat occasionally. The stop for the HoHo bus was close and we took it one day. We went to the marina and the old town.One restaurant we really liked was Casa do Chefe. We really enjoyed our time here.

Had a great week here this July. Rooms very clean and functional. Maids did a great job every day. Loved the proximity to larger resorts whilst having the choice to stay local and have a quiet night. Pool was lovely, no hassle with loungers. Lovely grass area for the kids to play. If I would improve anything it would be the pool bar opening times, and the bar people. Didn't find them particularly friendly, where as the servers were great.

Fantastic ten stars super attentive staff I was with 3 children and they managed to provide an excellent location for the apartment. I strongly recommend. To be repeated next year without a doubt. Congratulations are all.

The apartment we had was a 1 bed (sleeps 4) for myself and my two teenagers. From previous reviews I was expecting a bit more. It was clean, staff were a bit hit and miss (a fair bit of eye rolling from one of the older ladies in the bar), but mostly friendly and helpful. Food and drink was ok, reasonably priced but not going to win any awards. My biggest gripe was the uncomfortable beds. Rock hard and so uncomfortable that I ended up with a very bad back. Only one air conditioning unit in the apartment which was in the living room/kitchenette. The pool area had plenty of sun beds and the pool was a decent size. The location is a bit too far to walk anywhere comfortably. There are a couple of supermarkets within a 10 min walk, but of course yiu have to factor in carrying your shopping back - so had to make several trips. The hotel would benefit from having perhaps a small store selling essentials for their guests. The beach is stunning though and lots of bars and restaurants there for those who wish to go a bit further than the hotel. Portimao itself seemed a bit run down, but perhaps that’s just the area where the shuttle bus dropped us off. It was too hot to really do hours of exploring the town, so perhaps I’m doing it a mis-service. The hotel was all in all good value, and great for my very late booking. I don’t think I would revisit though.

I would love to give this place a poor review to put people off going so I could keep it for myself but that would be doing the staff a real disservice. I can't fault this place at all- the place was spotless inside and out and the rooms were well equipped with fridge ,safe and air conditioning and lovely hot showers. The breakfast had something for everyone and changed each day. The staff are the real star of the show though and nothing is too much trouble. We mentioned we were looking for worry beads and the next thing we knew one of the waitresses at breakfast went across the street and brought back a selection for us to choose from and purchase from the shop opposite. Special mention to Ioanna who was so friendly and up for a laugh she really made our holiday. Great Central location but quiet with a lovely small pool and pool area. Can't wait to come back!

This is the email I have sent to the hotel manager on return to UK, I would stress that the apartments, complex, restaurant and staff are superb, but you can see what spoiled an expensive week for me . Dear Manager   I would like to thank you and all your staff for a lovely stay in your apartments. My husband and I stayed in apartment 211 from the 10th of September for 7 days. The apartment and complex are very pretty and always clean. The food in the restaurant is well priced and excellent quality. However, I would particularly like to thank all your staff from the maids to the receptionists and the restaurants and bar staff. They are all very helpful and very polite and are a credit to your apartments. We would like to thank Ines as she tried to deal with a slightly distressing problem. You may be aware that in the garden area outside room 211 there is an injured seagull. It cannot fly and was killing the smaller birds for food (which was not pleasant to see and hear – I couldn’t sit out on the balcony), it was also distressing to see the seagull struggle for food and water. Ines tried to get the relevant authority to come and collect the bird but they hadn’t turned up when we left. Of course, now with the terrible wildfires they will be even more stretched. I wanted to ask the management if they could look at this situation and try to resolve it , even if it means paying for a vet to attend and take of the seagull. Free parking behind the hotel, enter the car park next to the McDonald's drive through. Limited spaces. Parking on the pavement will get you a €30 fine. Walking distance to the marina, beach and plenty of restraunts, pubs and some supermarkets. Kitchen in the apartment is an induction cooker, microwave and a kettle. Some cutlery and cooking utensils provided. Buffet breakfast is some cold cuts, cheese, sliced oranges, melons and kiwi fruit, yoghurt, cereals, scrambled, sunny Side up and boiled eggs. Baked beans, saugages, bacon mushrooms and roasted tomato with cheese. Portugese egg tarts, raisin danishes, chocolate rolls, apple turnovers. White bread, wholemeal bread, croissants and some rolls with butter and some jams available. 3 Small lifts they can fit 2 persons with suitcases. Lighting mostly adequate in the rooms amd living area except for the bathroom which was too dark. Nice balcony area. In the evenings, it was cooler to open the doors than rely on the air conditioner.

We have now been here for the 6th time (always in winter). We were always very satisfied with the apartment. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The studios are very large and well equipped. All apartments (Premium Studio) on the 1st and 2nd floor (Premium Studio Superior) have a balcony with a view of Ria Formosa (sea). There is a huge roof terrace for sunbathing with a wonderful panoramic view. There are plenty of free parking spaces directly at the house, at least in November and February. The location of Estudios Salinas is very good. Fuzeta is a pleasant little place with decent restaurants. Everything is within easy walking distance – restaurants, supermarket, sea… We will be back for a 7th time.

Returned from my holiday on Sunday ! I just like to say how much of a fantastic chilled holiday I had ! And the reviews that people have left are not what I saw ! The apartments don’t have the wow factor but were clean and tidy and we had been upgraded when arriving to an apartment we only paid for studio ! It was huge ! Bed was comfy and everything needed was there ! Wasn’t too loud and there was mixture of ages there seeing so close the ***** couldn’t hear it at all ! I loved my holiday and my birthday when I was out there even though it rained on my birthday ! I had a fantastic holiday and will definitely visit again ! Oh and the indoor swimming pool was lovely too ! Every thing was fantastic ! Thanks again for a lovely stay ! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

The problem with this hotel is the management. The hotel is very big and the route sign is not clear. I was lucky to find the room after walking for 30 minutes. And the breakfast information is wrong, the parking information is wrong. These problems should be improved through management, and good results should be obtained.

When me and my twin brother were staying in Albufeira we stayed in the Luna Hotel Da Oura on R.de Dunfermline.This hotel is only a short walk away from the main ***** were there are many pubs/bars and restaurants and a fifteen minute walk to Albufeira's old town. The hotel has a nice reception area and a superb outside swimming pool and there's an indoor pool.The room we had (336) was clean and spacious (a little dated) but very well presented.The bed's were brilliant and the rooms cleaned everyday.The breakfast was varied and filling and the staff were 1st rate. A superb hotel in a superb area of this very lively resort and on our next visit to here we will stay in this fantastic hotel again.(This is my first review of the Luna Hotel Da Oura).

Visited on the 23rd July for a week with my partner and 3 year old daughter. The staff at the reception were amazing, the apartments big enough very comfy beds big bathroom , two balconies , air conditioning in bedroom and sitting room which was badly needed as it was very hot, indoor pool and outdoor pools. 24/7 shop and this lovely lady that was Serving such a kind person. Wish I known her name so I would mention her on here. There’s a lot of young people even tho I’m only 32 but this holiday was a family holiday so we weren’t into partying etc , the noise level of people screaming at 5am was out of order ( I know it’s not a hotel fault) thankfully my daughter sleeps thru any loud noise. If your children not sleeping well I wouldn’t go there. NO OFFENCE! - the lifts they need improvement very slow and very little space. - the oven ( I will post a picture) was just beside the door which has the bin in it, but that’s not a problem, the problem was that I couldn’t open the oven because of the door. - the shower not working properly , and would leak the whole time - the toilet water kept making noises 24/7 - the ladies that were cleaning our rooms seemed to be in and out. The only thing they were doing was giving us new towels , changed bedsheets and change bins, they didint hoover the rooms , didint leave extra shampoos. I had to sweep the floor all the time. - the bar was ok I suppose , pity they close the food bar so early and all we could order was pizza for 12€ and unfortunately it’s a frozen pizza which wasn’t great at all. I know I can order take away but would be nice to have good food in place Iam staying. - wish there was a kids club as there was a lot of families in there Maybe one day management will decide to upgrade the apartments. Anyways in overall to me the most important was that my family have good fun, nice and comfy bedrooms and to have good staff. And that’s what we’ve got. Iam seriously satisfied with the staff being so amazing and kind. Thank you so much

The hotel does not require an extra bed because he already has a sofa bed. It is suitable for children to play, there is an outdoor swimming pool, football field and water slide. There is a laundry room and a private passage to go to the beach. There are many restaurants next to the hotel. There is also a kitchen.

Had a fantastic week long stay at this lovely hotel over the Scottish October week. The staff are lovely and friendly, they were happy to help us with things like booking the Zoomarine and booking a taxi - we only got a taxi instead of walking the 10 minute short walk into the Old Town every night due to one of our party having an ankle injury. The hotel was also spotless, a little old fashioned in the room interior but in a classy sort of way. We had a street view room on level 0 and having read other reviews I was worried about the street noise but it was minimal to nothing each night. The cleaning staff were also friendly, and were constantly seen cleaning everywhere. The pool area was stunning, the snack bar was also so good and offered a great variety of choice. We were also there for a big birthday and the staff dropped off a bottle of bubbly for the occasion without being asked which made the day even more special. I could not fault this hotel and having stayed in Albufeira a few times before, this is by far the best hotel I have stayed at and cannot wait to return some time in the future!

Staff were polite and friendly. Room was clean on arrival however, It all went down hill after that. Room was not cleaned for the entire 7days. You have to request toilet rolls, clean towels, hangers, irons and clean bed linen from reception. You have to empty your own bins so rubbish bags are left outside causing a terrible stench. Ants infestation with trails in every room in the apartment. I guess for short periods like a few days you will be comfortable but for longer stays I would recommend looking for somewhere else.

Excellent spacious apartments,great location, helpful staff, for what you pay for these apartments i think it is great value.Me and my wife have paid more before and stayed in alot worse places.I will definitely be staying here again. Mr a laybourne.

We stayed in the Alvor Atlantico Hotel for nearly three weeks and would recommend. We had a Studio Superior, with a Sea View. We were on the 7th floor and the view was absolutely beautiful, we could see all of the beach from the beach at the Atlantida Restaurant to the very end. It was lovely to wake up to. The hotel itself was very quiet, there's no bar, there is an indoor pool, which we didn't use and it was also very clean. The Studio was well equipped with a 2 ring cooker, fridge and plates and cutlery, we had a problem with the cooker and the kettle which was sorted out for us, no problem. We had one rainy day when we didn't fancy going into Alvor, you can book dinner (or breakfast) in the Dom Joao Hotel, which we did for the one night, it was only a 5 minute walk away. It was buffet style but was very good. It's a 20 minute walk into the harbour or centre of Alvor on the boardwalk which was a nice way to start the evening. We will definitely stay here again. The beds were comfortable, a bit hard for my personal liking, the shower was good with plenty of pressure, so all in all would recommend.

Arrived to early to enter the room, was told to go back at 2pm. Was advised there was safe place to keep cases and feel free to use the bar and restaurant. which we did and prices were very reasonable £3 a pint of beer, you could get anything from beers, ciders cocktails and soft drinks all again reasonably priced. Food also reasonably priced and tasty Went back to reception at 2pm as told room and room was ready, was in room 303. A one bedroom apartment, nicely presented and spotlessly clean, large lounge with dining table large sofa bed and small kitchenette with everything you need from toasters kettles hobs to cook and a microwave. large bedroom with ample sized built in wardrobe, dressing table and large double bed (only complaint was the mattress was rock hard) bathroom had a shower over bath but water pressure was superb and again spotless. Room was cleaned daily and fresh towels everyday big up to the girls doing the rooms, never an issue. balcony was long a bit narrow but still good sized, only complaint was a fully grown tree as a view if it wasn't there u would see the sea as it was we had small side sea view. Pool area ample sized looks small but always plenty beds and clean again can't really fault it the location is up the hill out the road, only noise was barking dogs day and night but that's not the hotels fault. there is a lidl down the hill in walking distance, but the main ***** is about a 25 min walk but only 3-4 pounds in a taxi, plenty shops, restaurants and pubs. had a great holiday here, was there for 7 days absolutely no complaints, all staff were superb nothing to much for them wouldn't hesitate in going back, should be more stars to what it is.

Good stay, but the apartments could be better, there were no curtains on the kitchen windows and slightly uncomfortable beds

The apartment is easy to find, the environment is quite good, the room is large enough, the facilities are complete, the sanitary conditions are very good, and glass bottles of water and fruits are provided. Overall very satisfied. The only slightly inconvenient thing is that we need to call the store in advance to get the password to enter the apartment and room. Maybe it's because we arrived a little late.

Spacious apartment but with some shortcomings. Bathroom a bit small compared to the size of the apartment. There are no closets to put your stuff. In case of a stay for more than one night, I imagine there may be difficulties in settling down. Not exactly impeccable cleaning. Check-in takes place in a nearby facility and it would be better to provide the exact address of where to go already when booking. Quiet and we were able to park the car nearby; perhaps in high season the matter becomes more complicated. Value for money compared to many other hotels visited in the Algarve during the trip not very good but Faro is quite expensive to stay in hotels. Very good location for visiting the city.
