Apartments in Penang, Malaysia

Booked for my family of 7 for one night on 26th Dec. Arrived at 5pm but unfortunately the apartment wasn't ready. We finally managed to check in at 6.30pm and allowed for late checkout at 4pm next day. Due to the pandemic situation, limited numbers of guests can use the pool at one time. Completely understandable. The management created, for my opinion, an irrelevant SOP for the pool. When checking in u need to book time to use the pool. Only 10person per hour. By the time the 10th group checked in, the pool booking already full. When i visited the pool the next morning, the group that booked the pool for the hour didn't show up & the pool left empty because people who didn't managed to book the pool earlier were denied entry & the people who booked did not show up. Should've make First In First Out rule. I did raised my concern twice to the reception & also manager on duty. They said they cannot do anything about the rule. Most of the guests were family with kids, of course all want to enjoy the pool. The pool booking system/SOP was absurd. The apartment was superb though. But the elevators does not make sense. And as an accommodation by the beach, would appreciate if you can provide some kind of facilities so that guests can clean themselves after enjoying the beach so the lobby won't be as messy. Your security guard locked the tap water at the beach entrance. I guess my stay would be much better if it wasn't the long weekend, but you guys can improve. Apartment was excellent, i got the sea view one. Your staff were good & patient.

Just stay here for a night but everything is top notch. Near Penang airport too. Got free upgrade to family suite room for free. Location is perfect, near to many eateries, 24H nasi kandar restaurant ( delicious but quite pricey) and got free parking if check in before 8pm. Will repeat for sure next time

We had an absolutely amazing time at this hotel. From the moment we arrived, the staff were welcoming, the room was spotlessly clean, and the views were breathtaking. The hotel’s location was perfect – close to all the local attractions.Could not recommend this place highly enough!Nice place for me to bring my pet go penang travel Will visit again

Nice cosy room. Newly refurbished room, bathroom was cleaned and bad was comfortable. Nice lobby with some sort grand old fashioned decor staffs were very friendly and service were excellent. The swimming pool also nice.

Ruang besar, selesa, air cond berfungsi, bilik air luas, tekanan air bagus, air panas untuk mandi bagus, ada dapur untuk memasak, ada peti ais, ada water hiter, ada iron, microwave cuma perabot agak lusuh dan ada yang rosak mungkin tidak diperbaiki akan tetapi ia masih berfungsi dengan baik, kerusi hanya ada 3 bagi meja makan. Parkir sgt selamat dan mudah untuk diakses

Strategic location with good views, disposable slippers and toothbrushes are provided. Host will reply the queries raised. The drawback is aircon at upper level room was not functioning well which caused was warm till hubby can't sleep well, and music from pubs till late night 1am ish. Others are fine!

My family was checked into suite 803.to get to it we had to walk past a stinking rubbish room with dirt on outside it on the corridor floor! In the suit itself, there were stalactites formed on the hall ceiling with stalagmites growing on the floor in the middle of a pool of water! The guy on duty(apparently they had no manager there to manage the place) said it must have just happened and housekeeping had not told anyone yet!!!I hate blatant lies, stalactites and stalactites take months to grow and these were at least 6 months old!!! They moved us to suite 1105. This was marginally better but apart from the simple lock on the main door there was no secondary lock on it as the chain was missing!! It appears they did not maintain this room either and are comfortable to put their guests security at risk. Other people have written about their bad experiences at this property on Trip Adviser over several years and where the management has replied they have said they will improve! Rubbish, these are just words. From our experience the management and maintainable of this place has not improved. There are properties in Penang managed by passionate staff. This is not one of them and well worth avoiding!!

We stayed at a studio suite in tropics eight (room 805) for a week during our visit to Penang. The hotel staff are lovely and very accomodating, our room had a fantastic binder with all the information we needed to know about tropics eight, Penang tourist destinations and bus routes to get to them. Our studio was spacious and the bathroom was clean. The sofa was comfortable as well, and the location of tropics eight was perfect for us to walk to nearby places. The laundry room was very useful, but we unfortunately had to wait a while to do our laundry as only one machine was functioning during our stay. I only wish our room had a window instead of a small balcony so that we could have enjoyed the view all day long. Overall, it was a great stay. I would no doubt return to tropics eight again.

I came here to comment. It's far better than I thought. It's big and clean! A real sea view room. It's super hot outside in Penang during the day. You can quietly watch the sea in the air-conditioned room. There are seven beds in total on the upper and lower floors. The bathroom upstairs actually has two sinks. It's very suitable for colleagues and friends to live in for team building. It's very cost-effective! !

Rooms were kept well and clean. Toilets were clean as well. Besides the room, there is a desert place a stone throw away and a fast food restaurant. Gurney Drive is about a 5 minute walk. We could get take aways from the hawker stalls and enjoy in the room as there were utensils provided as well as a microwave. Overall it was a pleasant stay.

The apartment was a bit run down. The bathroom cabinets were old. Only provide 1 bottle of soup for body, hand & shampoo. The sofa got stains. Poor selection TV channels only mainstream ones. No Astro. No Netflix. The worst part we have to carry our own rubbish from 15th floor to the basement. Just imagine the lift full of guests & you’re carrying rubbish! The staff were not that friendly. I guess this will be my first & last staying here!

This homestay is the best.. Can fit 10 people. There are many beds & mattresses. The view from the 42nd floor is so awesome😍

The room is a sea view room, just like the description. The 42nd floor is the public area, the night view is super beautiful! The swimming pool is on the 11th floor and it is super comfortable. The key collection method is simple and convenient, I will come again next time

The accommodation is about 5 km from George Town. You can call Grab for a cheap price of 7-12 RM (except during rush hour > 20 RM). There is no reception. You have to contact the accommodation 1 day in advance, but it is not difficult. The accommodation is very good. There are all the facilities. I am very impressed.

Nice accommodations, very nice view, same as what I see from the pictures, and comfy beds. Hope owner can apply one Coway water dispenser for future customers. All good

This accommodation is located right in front of Nasi Kandar Penang Kayu which opens 24 hours. Queensbay mall is nearby and only takes around 15 mins to the airport (subject to traffic) so as we only stayed 1 night to catch an early flight, it was convenient - location wise. No wifi provided though. Really have table tennis/ping pong table, dart games and movie (we didnt watch any) as seen on the pictures. The building is a bit outdated though. The tenant contacted us directly via Whatsapp and the explanation about the facility was very very clear and helpful.

The route to the hotel is a bit strange, but overall it looks good. But check the accommodation before coming.
