The location was perfect for exploring the city, with many attractions and restaurants within walking distance. The hotel itself is beautiful, with a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere that made me feel right at home. I highly recommend Cheval Old Town to anyone visiting Edinburgh and I look forward to staying here again in the future.”

Amazing stay! Went to Edinburgh as a surprise for my husband's birthday. The staff went out of their way to make it special and even came to the room to wish him Happy Birthday, along with a card and prosecco! They were friends, welcoming and informative. A beautiful, modern hotel and they really have thought of everything (milk in the fridge, tea, coffee, water etc). Would highly recommend and will definitely be back. Thank you for making our stay extra special.

We were soles tired right off the plane after figuring out that I had no license and could not get my rental car :( I took it well pouted and walked away. We took the Tram to St Andrew's Square. We needed to be in The border lands in Peebles. We stopped at the Edinburgh Grand. The men at the desk couldn't have been nicer! They called a taxi service not once but twice! They held our bags and said that their was a bar upstairs we could wait at with a wonderful and sweet cocktail waitress and relax. They came and got us when he arrived. Carried our bags to the taxi for us. We will tell this story many times in the future and we will thing of them all fondly.

Hotel is very close to the shopping district and Carlton Hill in the city centre (within walking distance). Nice and clean room. Key card provided to gain access to main door at night, so feeling safe to stay inside this hotel at night too.

Great place to stay when visiting central Edinburgh whether on business or pleasure. Rooms are fully functional with a small kitchenette, all mod cons and a very modern feel to them. All impeccably clean and fresh. There is no air con in the rooms but a Dan in the room if needed. Great place to have a coffee and pastry in the morning and lots of space to work if needed. Great value

Due to injury we had to extend our short trip in Edinburgh to a 6 week recovery. The staff were amazing, friendly, caring and made all the difference to my recovery. The hotel ammenities were great and the one bed apartment was clean, modern and spacious. Perfect location to get to anywhere in Edinburgh but not in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Princes street Definitely recommend this hotel to anyone

The room is an apartment-like apartment, two bedrooms, a bathroom, a kitchen, a dining room, a living room, and a small balcony. It is very spacious and comfortable, and the interior facilities are complete, including all kinds of tableware, etc. It is also very good. The name of the guest will be posted at the door. There is a touch of fragrance in the door. Luggage can be stored. The location is good and you can walk around the city center.

The location of the apartment building is about 15 minutes' walk from the train station. The overall environment is relatively warm and comfortable. The guest room we stayed in had one living room and one bedroom. It was quite large compared to ordinary hotels in London. It had a kitchen, a sofa and a coffee table, and the bathroom was also spacious. The only imperfection was that the manager of the apartment building got off work at 7 p.m. There was no reception when we arrived, the door could not be opened, and it took a long time to dial the phone at the door before it was connected. The waiting process was really exhausting. The store said it had sent an email, but other than the email indicating that the Ctrip reservation was successful, there was no email from the apartment administrator, which affected the check-in process. In addition, international calls cannot contact the administrator immediately, which is a problem for international tourists. not very convenient.

The first night was 119 pounds and the second night was ¥2842 for the same room type because the second day was a Friday. I understand that, but what I don’t understand is that if I extend my stay, I have to change rooms and I have to check out in the morning and I have to check out again at 3pm. The most interesting thing about checking in is that the room is small and the double bed is as big as the single bed. A person in the small room has to turn sideways when walking. I went to the front desk to ask why there was such a big difference in the same room type. The answer was that I had to pay another 25 pounds to change. The larger room is really speechless. In short, everyone must check clearly when booking a room. Don’t think that expensive conditions are good. Don’t waste money.

Underwhelming reception in the bar. Pleasant staff. Not quite what we expected for the price. Location is a short walk from the train station and near Calton Hill. Not hard to get anywhere with basic fitness. The room size was huge. With plenty of nice living space. Good size kitchen, limited basic cooking pans etc. no can opener. No coffee machine. Stove, microwave oven and dishwasher all functional and clean. Bathrooms were ok, basic appearance and the sink bench had a large amount of badly patched up damage. The 2nd bedroom and bathroom was downstairs, the bedroom heater was not on and the bathroom towel rail was so hot it burnt, with a dial that didn’t work. Showers adequate. Beds were ok. Firm. The windows were a view of the building across the street and a fairly daggy lane below. So not great. Also the train station and we went to sleep listening to announcements from there. Noise was not a big problem, and we had nearly no noise from the rest of the building. Apart from some daggy hallways, bathrooms, Single slow small lift. Locked rooftop and basic reception. Our problem was the ceiling. A massive water leak all over the hallway that was not dealt with immediately. It’s obvious by the ceiling that this is an ongoing issue. I worry about the safety of the ceiling and our safety was compromised by a water on the floor. I had to ask twice for it to be fixed. Apparently maintenance had been messaged, communication was non existent. No apologies, not good enough. The price is for room size and location. Don’t expect good service or high quality.
