The location is excellent, with spectacular views of the ocean - if you had an Oceanview room. I didn’t originally because my travel agent messed up. But the manager, Richard, was super helpful and was able to give me one after some work on his part. My room was spacious, clean, and had a great view on the top floor. The housekeeping was very good (they promptly replaced a worn out chair), the laundry was prompt, the premises were clean and quiet, and they had a full buffet breakfast. The best part for me was the air conditioning, which kept the room cool even when it was 94 F outside. Also, the location was less than a km from grocers and about a km from some nice restaurants on the Esplanade. So the hotel suited me perfectly.

I saw ‘Cairns City’ in the title & booked, but don’t be fooled like I was as the motel is up in Cairns North, a good 15 minute walk from the Cairns CBD & Esplanade area. The view from my apartment was the Cairns State High football field on Sheridan Street. That said, the motel was decent for the price charged ($180 a night in peak season) and the Wi-fi was strong which was important as I was working remotely for a full day from my room. It’s by no means a modern motel but the room size was adequate & had everything I needed for a short 2 night stay. The room was well prepped, with a fresh tropical coconut fragrance as you walk in. There is a bit of noise from the Main Street outside and you can hear other guests next door from time to time but overall nothing too distracting. There were cafes & shops nearby within walking distance including a bakery 5 minutes up the road which does espresso coffee. But it is not a city motel & without a car it’s a hike to get to the Cairns esplanade/lagoon area where tourists normally go. On the first night I walked into town & saw the laser light show installed for the Cairns Festival near the Pier Bar & had a massage treatment at Foot & Body in Orchid Plaza.

Had a wonderful stay at cairns queen court! All the staff were super friendly. They always try their very best to help with our questions and provide suggestions to our trip planning! However, beware of the morning (ard 6:30am) house keeping if you wanna sleep in~ overall, I enjoyed staying there and had lot of fun in Cairns!

Weather aside (we knew this was not the right season for Cairns), the price / performance ratio for this place is not right. It is not badly maintained but also not sufficiently maintained for the climate. First glance is OK but details are not. The facility being split across a street is not mentioned anywhere we looked … and quite inconvenient when it rains as usual his time of the year. The pictures on the web site or other travel sites look nice but the truth is different, as usual. Rooms are truly spacious but the pools are not and the rooms are definitely not as immaculate as on the pictures. Just the door frame is rusted. So is the door of the fridge and the light fixture above the bathroom sink. Some of the kitchen cupboards doors show their age and do not close right. And, icing on the cake, the wifi is the lousiest you can imagine, reminding me of what 4-5-star hotels used to offer in the early 2000. Simply impossible to connect from the room, bad and iffy from the terrace, practically had to go the reception to get anything decent. And even there you would have to sign in again and again in the old-fashioned security system that is unable to recognize customers who have signed in before or maintain their connection as they wander through the complex.

Stayed 1 night owing to its location to rental car pound and airport. Dropped car off at rentals, walked back to the hotel. Our room was ready, even though we were early, no problem, very welcoming receptionist. Room had everything we needed - but it overlooked the main Highway. We ate in restaurant that night, perfectly adequate, very helpful waiting staff. Asked hotel to arrange taxi for a 4.30 pick up. Taxi arrived on time and dropped us off at the airport. Everything went well, apart from the noise. The road is very busy till late and internally someone near to our room was having shower/bath late at night and the plumbing seemed to go right through our room.

Once I got used to it (it took me a day or so), I liked the place! The manager, Mike, was laid-back, friendly and always very helpful. We arrived on a dark, rainy day and night (normal for the time of year in Cairns) and my first impressions of the accommodation were a bit gloomy: breeze-block walls (thankfully painted white), *****-lighting, a bit of a stale/damp aroma and sofa with black-tape repairs. However, for most of our stay we had sunny (and mostly dry) weather and it felt much better in the apartment and the breeze-block walls protected us from most of the neighbourhood noise. The apartment was clean and well-equipped. The cooker worked well - we didn't mind using matches to light the hobs. Good, clean toilet / shower room. The shower was powerful enough with water staying consistent at the chosen temperature. Very good value.

It is very rare to have a hotel of this price during the Spring Festival, so if this hotel can meet the basic needs of rest, in addition to additional facilities, it is really good value for money!
First of all, the location of the hotel is a certain distance from the city center. It is a half-hour walk, but there is nothing to visit in the city, it is nothing more than a supermarket to buy things.
Secondly, the hotel's facilities are complete, basic things are available, and you can rest well at night. There is also a kitchenette in the room where you can cook your own meals, which is really a bonus.
Finally, because it is a motel, the service is basically absent, but the front desk staff are very enthusiastic, so there will be no uncomfortable feeling.

Cairns is a very quiet small city with few people and beautiful scenery. The apartment is not far from the airport. It takes a taxi for 20 AUD and 10 minutes. The apartment is not far from the beach and walked for 10 minutes. The owner of the apartment is very enthusiastic, give us a map and tell us how to get to the beach and the market. The room was very clean and the facilities were complete, as it was in late August, the weather was very good and the room was not very comfortable to air. We rushed, put the bank card and some cash in the apartment, contacted the boss and transferred the cash directly to us, and directly sold the bank card, a very trustworthy apartment owner.

Apartment hotel, the kitchen is very good, fully equipped, can fully meet the needs of the husband's chef, but there can be no fumes, otherwise the alarm may ring, fried eggs, steaks are no problem, two rooms, two big two small no problem, There is a laundry room, two large balconies facing the sea, parking spaces, and the hotel is completely self-service. The location is a little far from the city center, and it takes nearly half an hour to walk, making it easy to drive.

The Bohemia resort is located close to the airport, excellent pubs including (Cock & Bull pictured) and restaurants so was perfect for an overnight stay. The garden pool area looks inviting.
The rooms are basic but clean, fairly old bathrooms simple amenities in fair condition. comfortable bed.
Well priced and well located.

GGuest UserWe stayed for 5 nights in total and couldn’t have been more impressed with both the rooms and the service at Tropic Towers. First impressions were already great as I called to change some dates due to a Fitzroy Island overnight stay - Peta could not have been more helpful and made changes to our booking free of charge, even though I called the day before our stay. When we arrived, Peta was so welcoming and explained the area to us as it was our first time in Cairns. We stayed in a 1 Bedroom and 2 Bedroom apartment during our time at Tropic Towers and both were immaculate, spacious and like a home away from home. Full kitchens in both rooms meant we had no issues cooking on a couple of evenings. We had a beautiful view of the sunset from our balconies too! Peta even offered for us to leave two of our bags with her for the night of our Fitzroy Island stay, instead of having to take them over to the island on the ferry. We would definitely recommend this place and look forward to staying again in future! Thank you again Peta :)

PPatricia NMy friend and I rented a 2 bedroom apartment at the Reef Gateway from March 2 to 9, 2020. The complex is a short 5-10 minutes from the airport, and is about a 20 minute walk to the reef terminal and shops. The facilities are very good: beautiful shaded pool, stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, nice shower, good linens and free Netflix! We were on the ground floor and had a nice, private patio. Clothes washer and dryer and a clothes 'horse' for hanging up wet clothes. I can't say enough about the excellent care and kindness of manager, ”Michael”. If we needed anything or had any questions he was most helpful. When I take another vacation in Cairns, I will stay at the Reef Gateway.

GGuest UserWe booked this apartment for a family holiday for 4 people. We booked a 2 bedroom apartment which had plenty of space, air con in each room and living room, and was stocked with all the amenities that a family would need such as a dishwasher, dryer, etc. The apartment is about a 30 minute walk from the main area of Cairns so we needed to catch an Uber each time which wasn’t ideal. The reception hours are also limited to working hours each day. We did have an issue with a shower handle coming off it’s hinge and had to wait until morning to have this fixed. We could also hear people walking up and down as the complex isn’t very sound proofed. There was a clean accessible pool which we also used. There was a clean bbq space too which would be useful for family gatherings. Overall, we had a generally enjoyable stay but would consider staying somewhere closer to the main area if we were to visit again.

LLinda E Address: 331-337 Lake St, Cairns City QLD 4870 Phone: (07) 4041 6605 If you are unfortunate enough to be allocated this unit there are things you should be advised The Edge Apartments Cairns is situated in Cairns only 220 yards from the Northen end of the Esplanade and the Coral Sea. It has 2 outdoor pools and spacious air-conditioned apartments. COMMENT In June 2023 We found our apartment 205 for 10 days to NOTt to be of 4star standard at all. PRO: The bedlinen and bathroom towels were very clean and of good quality. The air conditioning worked. The ceiling fans worked. The apartment was spacious. The fridge worked but bottom of door shelving missing. Inconvenient if you wanted to store water bottles etc. CONS: ” Each unit at the Edge has a flat-screen TV”., which was NOT working and had to be re-connected by guest. “Free Wi-Fi” NOT available in unit 205 – we were informed by office unless you wanted to stand outside of office area to connect. Apartment was dark, - lighting in all rooms inadequate and woefully dim and outdated. Lighting in laundry area was badly positioned – and here there were no instructions on how machine worked. *Vertical Blinds in poor state and need maintenance or replacement. *All doors (screen and glass sliding) need maintenance to run smoothly. *The furniture was inappropriate (apart from 2 leather sofas) and badly arranged. *The ambience was noisy. The decor throughout the apartment – wasn’t.!! Except 2 pictures hung almost at ceiling. – 1 small mirror in dark hallway., and a wall clock. (All 15 years or more in age) *No rugs or furnishings to soften the décor or the echo sounding throughout the apartment. *Coffee table in bad state. *Dining table satisfactory but serviced by 2 different types of chairs. *The bathroom needed maintenance/upgrade (and pictures I have taken show much damage to outer base of shower, mould along the wall.) *The kitchens come equipped with very basic essentials. A microwave and dishwasher., utensils for cooking on very old worn stove. “Some units have balconies with sea or mountain views”, others, like ours, at 205 had overgrown foliage with NO views. The Edge Apartments Cairns has an outdoor entertainment area with barbecue facilities and free on-site private parking. *The Rain forestation Nature Park is 11 miles from The Edge Apartments. Kuranda Scenic Railway and Skyrail Rainforest Cableway are only a 10-minute drive away.
